Long time customer. Last time I brought in my truck, I had both differentials and the transfer case serviced. They asked about my manual transmission and I stated I would come back. They said they couldn't service the transmission because the plug was unreachable after 5 minutes of effort. I took it to Midas and reality somehow altered itself! This was my first time using the Valvoline in O'Fallon, IL. I had no clue what to expect after reading the mixed reviews on yelp. Turns out my oil change came with an unexpected party. Jordan (the assistant mgr) was amazing right off the bat. I showed him the pic of my coupon to make sure it was going to work before I committed. He read it and approved. Then once Brett drained the oil he said something along the lines of "it's showtime" signaling to the group under the car that it was their turn to do their thing. The whole time the coworkers were having fun, but also diligent about getting the work done and communicating the whole way through. It was very much a joy getting my oil changed today. (...and who says that?) I didn't feel taken advantage of and I felt like Jordan was honest with his recommendations and didn't try to upsell. Thank you all for a job well done!! read more

Well, I just found out that the technician who changed my oil last at your facility, stripped the oil drain plug so badly that shards of metal came out of my oil pan and they cannot even get a brand new plug to stay in. Thank you for your service. read more

There is nothing I loathe more than taking my car to get serviced. As a female, it can be daunting to speak to a group of men about a vehicle. I was so pleasantly surprised upon arriving at Valvoline last week. The staff was so kind, and they made me feel at ease. I never felt like they were trying to up charge or upsell me, and they were so friendly. We will definitely get our oil changes here from now on. We are so happy with the staff! My review is conflicted... I just bought a used vehicle, so I decided to take it in for an oil change. When I pulled into the stall giving my info. There next stall over the techs and a man in the dodge truck we're cursing and arguing back & forth. Not sure what happened as he pulled in at the same time I did only to hear the techs saying the man threatened his life because the man was asked to put out his cigarette while his vehicle is being worked on. The techs told the man to leave, get the F out of here in fact don't come back. The man left the techs apologize to me for the commotion and I said not if he was smoking then I understand because I didn't want to die while getting my oil changed either. Any hoot, as I was driving home I noticed my oil light come on then go off then come back on. I had to go to work after the oil change so I figure I take it in on my day off. 2 days later I return to the shop. A lady was parked at an angle that was hard to know what stall she was going to so I assumed she was in stall #1 so I went around her parked in #2. The tech came out (one of the same boys from the argument) and rudely said, you need to back up that vehicle is next. I said ok and reversed and went to #1 as the tech asked only to be told to go back to #2. The same boys checked my vehicle when I told them the issue and all he kept saying was a red light with an oil can. Now I verified the oil can in several different ways he rephrased. To the point that I said look I know what the oil light is and looks like so Yes it's the oil light. Then he said well if it's the red oil light then that's the oil sensor not something we do so take it to a shop. Yeah long story but it's 2 visits in 1 review, what can I say I'm long winded! Think I'll go to the o'fallon center before going back to this Belleville location simply because those young shaggy haired boys don't have good customer service and speak to customers rudely. Sad thing is that their manager was working on the car next to mine but didn't say anything or he's become oblivious to their tone because it's a frequent display there. read more

I brought my wife's Ford Explorer to this location for a transmission service, and immediately after they completed the service I was unable to drive it away. The manager, Joshua, assured us that since the vehicle was drivable when we arrived and not drivable after the service, that Valvoline would be taking care of the repairs. They have it towed to Mike's Automotive in Collinsville, and inform me that the transfer case needs to be repaired and it's going to be $2500. The fact that it broke during the 30 minute service where my vehicle was parked is just a "Coincidence." Now Valvoline is refusing to repair the vehicle even though they acknowledged that they had a newer employee (who had to ask for help multiple times) perform the service, and promised to take care of us. Take your business elsewhere, it's not worth it. read more

took my car to valvoline in O'Fallon IL and immediately after my transmission was flushed my car was no longer drivable. They had it towed to their mechanic and now they're saying it is not their fault and we are responsible for the costs. My car worked when I drove it there for the transmission flush and didn't immediately after they were finished so that's weird. When the area manager spoke to me on the phone he cut me off during every sentence I tried to say to him and told me "that's the unfortunate part of owning a car. They break sometimes". So not only did they break my vehicle 5 days ago and just now decide to get back to me about it, they are entirely disrespectful in the process. The only person from valvoline who was helpful was the manager of the location but when it got escalated to the area manager, he would no longer speak to us. read more

I had chosen to come here to get my oil change after receiving excellent service in 2018. This time, I'd think second before going. The manager was very rough around the edges and rude. Late hours is a plus. This is a fleet vehicle. I would NEVER pay cash prices at this place. It looks like 100 bucks for oil change and tire rotation. Have these folks not heard about the bad economy? Also many Jiffy Lubes vacuum the inside of the car as a courtesy. The waiting area is not much. No tv, no radio, No reading materials. The interior is not exactly clean, not exactly dirty. It was hot in there as well. The bathroom is clean, since there is no toilet paper!?! They tried to talk me out of the tire rotation? Supposedly due to the lateness of the hour. I wonder if they would still charge the fleet supplier? Also, a small point, but no manager came out to talk to me. read more

Usually my go to place for an oil change, because there's usually no one there. On 7/10/18 I called up there to confirm they would accept a competitors coupon, and was turned away. Usually this is no problem, so I'm not sure what the deal this particular day was. If you can't compete with your competitors, you will not earn my business. I recently visited this Valvoline Instant Oil Change facility for the very first time. I've passed by it numerous times over the past decade, but never once went in. My visit was painless, professional, and VERY FAST! I was in and out of there in 10 minutes. In fact, it was the fastest oil change I've ever gotten in my entire life. While the work was very thorough and very well-done, I did have an issue that needed to be addressed with the store manager. When I brought it to his attention, he took care of the problem and valued my business as a customer. I was very impressed with how the whole situation was handled. For his work of addressing my concern in a proper and respectful manner, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this business for all of your oil change needs! My thanks, again, to a great staff! read more

Took my 2017 Honda Civic Si for an oil change a few months back and not only did it take them forever to "figure out" the skid plate (it's a Honda, how do you not know how to work on a Honda when it's one of the most common vehicles out there), but they did not secure the skid plate. I was going on a trip to northern Illinois for vacation with my wife and thankfully I only got as far as the exit before the same Valvoline that did my oil change and was too incompetent to put screws back where they came out of because I started to hear metal grinding as soon as I dropped below 30 mph. Why? Because the air going under the car wasn't strong enough to hold up my flapping skid plate. Embarrassingly driving through slow traffic with a scrapping skid plate to the same imbeciles that caused the problem and show up with them laughing and saying "we know what the problem is" like it's a regular occurrence. Not once did anyone offer to grab the manager for a refund when I just had the oil change the day prior. Do a better job hiring people and maybe train them from time to time. Especially when you have a "buddy system" where someone "experienced" looks over another's work. Two faults for the price of one. Top notch. read more

I'm surprised to see the reviews on this location. I've been using this Valvoline for 10 years without a single complaint. They are professional, fast, and have never pressured me for additional services as is rampant in this industry. In one instance, I took the neglected vehicle of a family member for a cooling system flush and they flushed it until the coolant was clear, three times. And charged me for a single flush. read more

I absolutely love this location! I've never had a bad experience here and every single attendant I've met is so friendly. I always use a coupon, so there's that, but I don't know that their prices are any more expensive than anywhere else and they don't try to hock add-ons any more than other places do. My favorite thing about this place is that I don't even have to get out of my car and I am in and out the door in 10 minutes flat Every. Single. Time. I also like that they're open till 7:30 so I don't have to worry about trying to rush there during "normal business hours." read more

sorry to say valvoline has lost my buisness had my oil changed their and then started having trouble with my car the check engine light came on.I took it back to valvoline they told me it was a bad sensor so i took it elsweere toget it fixed they fixed the sensor I left went down the street it came back on went back the changed the front sensor left it came back on left again it came back on again ths time they started checking other possibilities out and found out that valvoline put the wrong oil filter on my car. read more

If I could give this place a -100 stars I would. They broke a part on my truck and then flat out lied to me multiple times and then lied to my dad. It took an act of God to get them to issue a refund. I'm also sure they didn't order the part like they said they would. I took our car into this location for a quick oil change. I mistakenly let them convince me to do a fuel systems cleaning. A week later the car started acting odd. I took it back in. The manager assured me that this was "normal". I believed him for another week until the check engine light came on. I went back. The nice people assessed the car and found the problem. They asked who looked at the car the first time I bought it back. I did not tell them it was the manager and he was not there. First they said that they would pay to have the car fixed to "make things right". Then they said that they would order the part and fix it themselves. After a few days of phone calls setting things up, they said that they would call me when the part came in. I called back twice to ask for an update and was told that they were still waiting for the part and would call me. It's been over a month now. I'm still waiting for that call. I had the car repaired elsewhere for $600. That is on top of the $250 I paid to Valvoline in the first place. Ouch! Never again. read more

Went here for an oil change a few months ago. The wait wasn't bad, considering there were 2 cars ahead of me... but after the oil change, I noticed when I got home and shut the engine off there was a slight vibration and rubbing sound. From the driver's seat, it sounded like it was coming from right in front of the steering wheel or in that corner of the engine, so my husband took a flashlight and kept looking to see if there was something in that area (because I insisted it was coming from there). Well, here it is about 2 or 3 months later and I just had another service done (and troubleshooting to find out what the rubbing noise & vibration was from) at a dealership. I was thinking I was going to have to spend several hundred dollars or more to fix whatever the problem was, when the mechanic called and told me there was an empty oil bottle left between the fan and the belt. WTF?!?!?!? The dealership mechanic couldn't understand why Valvoline would use bottles and not add oil with a hose connected to some bulk container. Even better, the dealership price was less than Valvoline's (and the dealership included a tire rotation & complimentary car wash & was still cheaper than an oil change with military discount at Valvoline!). I took my car in for an oil change before embarking on a cross-country move from O'Fallon to Albuquerque. Once I reached ABQ, I began having car trouble. The check engine light kept coming on for the cam sensor. Two cam sensor changes and several trips to the mechanic later, my mechanic discovered metal shavings in my oil, which was also pitch black even though I'm not due for another oil change for 2,000 miles. The mechanic thinks this Valvoline location used regular oil instead of synthetic, which damaged parts in the engine. I don't speak car so can't articulate or spell the parts he's replacing, but I do know it's going to cost me $496 in repairs after I already spent over $200 on the cam sensor. I've communicated with management at this location and based on her skepticism regarding their role am not optimistic that they are going to take responsibility or reimburse me for any expense. I will never go to Valvoline ever again. read more
