This afternoon, my wife and I were enjoying a Sunday drive, when I dropped a wheel of our F-150 off…read morethe edge of a narrow road, while slowly backing. Had it not been for the rear axle assembly digging into the pavement, we would have rolled over. Our truck was precariously perched over the edge of a steep bank. After several phone calls to towing businesses that turned out to be closed, we reached Tennessee Roadside. What a fortunate turn of events. Within minutes, "Tow Truck Tommy" and his partner Tony arrived, assessed the situation, and got to work. Using a nearby tree as a fulcrum, they calmly and professionally winched the truck at just the right angle to get it back up on the road WITH NO DAMAGE. Throughout it all, they went out of their way to reassure us. Talk about great guys --they were! But we were not happy with their charges --THEY WERE TOO LOW! We fixed that problem with a well-earned tip! Thanks, guys! --John and Pat Bowers, Elizabethton

Upon the 2.5 mile drive home I heard sounds I'd NEVER heard in the 7 plus years I'd owned my originallyl new vehicle. The next day I returned to my home in northern Virginia after a 380 mile drive. I definitely heard a rattling/banging noise in the right front wheel/front end area I'd NEVER heard before. Upon further driving in various road conditions, I was sure something was either loose or damaged after Snead's installation of my struts. I will NOT return to this place as if they can't do this right the first time, what gives me confidence that they could do anything right the second time? If this had been a very complicated repair, I could understand, but a strut replacement/alignment and the car is WORSE than before I took it to them? No, they will NEVER see me again. I also learned later from a person who'd taken his vehicle to them to have a specific type of tire put on, and was told that would be done. But after being serviced, the specific type of tire he wanted and was TOLD would be ordered/installed was NOT installed. He made the manager re-order the tires he'd specifically asked for in the beginning. So I have NO recommendation other than to STAY AWAY from Sam Snead TIre & Service Center in Elizabethton.
