But I'm telling you...this place is worth it. It's huge and quite literally, they have anything and everything you could ever want for your garden. Also, unlike every other garden shop in the area, they still are stocked with flowers even after the Fourth of July. All the women who work there are incredibly friendly and helpful. They will help you pick out the flowers that grow best together, look best together, and then show you how to arrange them to make them grow to their full potential. they also have their own specialty baskets that they put together in the shop. Though they are a wee bit pricey, I can only imagine it would cost as much if you went around and picked each flower and plant you wanted individually and put it together at home. Also, they have these awesome things called the "downunder basket." Supposedly, they are the only people in St. Louis to make them and they are basically an upside down plant. It's really cool and an original gift if you are looking to bring something of this type as a hostess gift. They also have quite a collection of fountains and other yard ornaments if you are into that sort of thing as well. So...if you are as disappointed with the assortment of flowers in most of the garden shops around town, it may be worth hauling it out to Wildwood. I certainly thought so.

We chose Chesterfield Valley Nursery for the job, and it was the best decision we could've made. Colten Graves, their Landscape Designer & Irrigation Supervisor, was absolutely phenomenal. From the beginning, he treated our yard like it was his own. He was on-site daily, sometimes more than once, and communicated consistently, professionally, and with care. His knowledge is second to none, plants, trees, rock, grading, drainage, design. You name it, Colten handled it with precision. When he said the crew would arrive at a certain time, they did. And the respect the team showed for our property was outstanding. One crew member even removed his muddy boots before walking across our white patio steps. I've never seen that level of care before. Yes, the pricing is on the higher end, but the white-glove service and final result more than justified the cost. Our backyard is now a beautiful, functional space that we love. We'll be hiring Colten again next year for the front yard and recommending him to everyone we know. The flowers were delivered but they missed the second arrangement for the podium. My dad was already upset considering the event so I tried to call the florist to inquire. It was a Sunday and the shop was closed. We had to display a different arrangement that was sent by family friends but it didn't match what we ordered. In general, the flowers arrangements were pretty but the quality of flowers were just ok and they weren't as full as expected. We also noticed some were already brown on the edges at the wake-day of delivery. I feel like they didn't use the freshest flowers. The arrangement on the tripod was much smaller than displayed in the photo book and had lots of welted flowers. We also paid $215 for that arrangement and it wasn't nearly as full as the picture in the book they showed us. Overall, disappointed. I did reach out on Monday and the shop employee was apologetic and issued a partial refund to my dad for the missing arrangement. Not happy that we had to reach out, instead of the shop, to inquire about our missing flower order. Not sure if adding to the order caused confusion. Wasn't given any type of reason but also didn't care by that point.

Confirmations were sent via email, though we thought we'd get a call to confirm # of guests --we didn't but that's fine. Daughter and 3 friends went on a Wednesday at noon (late as usual, but no one else was there anyway). She had to call because GPS took her behind the store. There were so many scents to choose from. The girls had a great time and each made the smallest ($16) candle. Took 2 hrs 15 min for candles to set -- girls went to eat lunch on N. Central St., a few minutes away, and called to check when their candles would be ready for pickup. Overall a great experience -- highly recommend!
