The first thing that caught my eye was an upcycled flannel with a vintage MTV T-shirt sewn onto the back. I had never seen anything quite like it! We learned that the owner handcrafts them using vintage flannels and old concert or graphic T-shirts, making each one completely unique. It was such a creative idea, and I loved seeing something you can't just find in any big-box store. The rest of the boutique was just as fun to browse. There were great-smelling candles, adorable ceramic mugs (my friend couldn't resist buying one!), essential oils, and all kinds of unique gifts and home décor. It was one of those stores where you keep finding things you didn't know you needed. One of the best parts of our visit was chatting with the owner's husband and his sister-in-law. They were so welcoming and genuinely fun to talk to. We even got to hear the story behind the shop's name. Pixie Clementine is actually their dog! There's an adorable photo of her behind the register, and they told us how his wife convinced him they needed a "shop dog." As it turns out, Pixie prefers hanging out at home, so she's more of a mascot than an employee! Between the one-of-a-kind items, the friendly conversation, and the family atmosphere, this boutique was such a memorable stop. If you're visiting Kimmswick, I highly recommend taking the time to browse. It was easily one of the highlights of our day.

I came across the TikTok from Pixie Clementines and was honestly pretty shocked by the way the owner was talking about her neighbor and making fun of the long grass. Maybe the yard wasn't looking its best, but goodness gracious, there is a difference between having a laugh about something and publicly making fun of somebody. If you're concerned about your neighbor, why not knock on the door and ask if they need a hand? That's what people used to do. What really rubbed me the wrong way was seeing the comments being hidden and people being blocked instead of simply addressing what was being said. If you're going to put something like that out on a public business page, people are naturally going to have opinions about it. You can't just sweep away the comments you don't like and expect nobody to notice. I've lived long enough to know that a business is more than just a storefront. The way you treat people, especially the people around you, tells me a whole lot more than a cute shop ever could. I certainly won't be spending my money there. There are plenty of small businesses where kindness and common courtesy still matter. Also, she now took the post down to hide the fact that she was experiencing negative reviews.

We walked through the process of making the incense with the owner and then we were set free to create on our own! We felt very supported throughout and loved talking with them! 10/10 experience will be going back for other workshops in the future! But when I went to Belli Fiori, I found great prices (better than the big box stores) and awesome service. I had two meetings with Lisa prior to my wedding, and I loved her ideas. She is young and has modern ideas about floral arranging, and even though I didn't have a number to give her for my budget, she worked with me and I was really pleased with the number that the flowers ended up being. The flowers ended up being gorgeous and exactly what I wanted! They kept really well and I loved the touches that Lisa added to them - ivory ribbon and sparkly buttons on mine and brown and gold ribbon on my bridesmaids. The centerpieces also were nice - wreaths that she added some flowers to make it have some color but it wasn't expensive. She has an archway for rental, which was only $50 to rent (way less than the other ones I'd looked at). She decorated it with some willow branches and it was a very nice effect! Communication and reminders were great. I didn't have to worry about anything with her involved. She delivered everything to my venue, which is an hour and a half away from her shop, brought each group of people their flowers, gave us instructions, and set up the archway plus the centerpieces. It was so nice to not have to worry about it! I'd highly recommend this shop to any bride!

So, I planned on taking her to the place at the Foundry. I had fine to one of their other locations one time and it was fun. At 11am we walked up to the door and it said they open at noon. Um, okay...your website says 11. We walked around tried again at noon. We weren't the only ones wanting to go in but nope they never opened. We were determined though. Looking online we found another location of that store but there was a different listing that caught our eye, WaXed Out Candle Gallery. They had an opening at 1pm. Whoohoo! I even called to make sure they were open. We arrived 5 minutes early and I was so pleased with how this place looked. Lekesha greeted us and there was fun music playing. It was super comfortable. There was amazing art on the walls. Lekesha started by telling us that they take artists applications to show their art. We were able to get our wax, mix it with it our scents and colors and when we came back after an hour our candles were finished. They looked amazing!!! Smelled even better!! Can't wait to light it!! Will I be back? Yes. Fun activity for a great price.

The store is well-organized and very sharply presented. At first you think, "there is not much here," but if you ask for something you need, the proprietor has you covered.
