I have always driven by but a giant dinosaur caught my eye! Though a smaller dinosaur came home with me, I was shocked at this family run outdoor store! I was shocked by the different options for fertilizer, soil mix, berry plants, and pest control items they had! This is a great alternative to big box stores! I will be back for my garden needs! The prices were great and items came in large quantities so worth the price! This shop is not handicap friendly but the staff sure is so let them help you! They are pet friendly.

Always helpful and the owner is really nice. I went in today to buy pansies. They have a nice selection. Granted the weather hasn't been great for spring gardening but that's ST. LOUIS. The prettiest noise was going around the outside of the nursery. It was the prettiest glass wind chimes. I had to go inside and pay. I told the girl that this was a good day to sell chimes because it was so windy and they sounded so beautiful. No response, just stared at me. I mentioned that I would like to get them for a birthday present. No response, just stared at me. There was absolutely no one there. I would be grateful to get a sale, have someone to talk to. Get some freaking personality!! I would do a better job than that. I tried to ask her a question about pansy dollars and you would have thought I asked what sized bra she was wearing!!! Pffft!! I may NEVER go there again and I spend a good amount of money there I can go to Wiethop (while they're open), Rolling Ridge, lots of choices out there...please have people who can converse with customers. It doesn't take they much effort and it is REALLY important for your business. Sincerely, disgusted customer

We decided to start naturalizing our back yard. We want to make an inviting space for pollinators,…read moreprimarily, but we also want a space that is allowed to do its own thing. We stopped raking 2 years ago, and that made a huge difference: we have oodles of fireflies and butterflies, way more than our neighbors who do the whole well-manicured lawn thing. Anyway, we talked to a person at the prairie booth at the Earth Day festival about native plants, and the website pointed us to Sugar Creek! We were very pleasantly surprised at the amount of options here. We were able to find all sorts of native plants to introduce into our yard. We really found it easy to navigate since they were sectioned into native and sun needs. It made it very easy once we figured it out. We were only able to afford about 6 plants the first time we came here and 4 the next time. They are a bit pricey, just fair warning. However, the selection is great and it's supporting a business that isn't a huge corporation, so it's worth a visit!

Large nursery and large price tags…read more This nursery is shrub and tree heavy. They always carry good brands of flowers, herbs, shurbs, and greenery. Some of the price is justified because they have warranty protection on some. You will leave with only a few items under $50 so make sure you do your wallet research. I love shopping local but I can also watch my spending. These place benefit from year round shopping so get your shears and garden items here. The staff is elderly and take good care of the plants all around the store, but they have to look up and refer back to things a lot so again do your research. The staff is so friendly and can help you but use a cart or come with the muscle. This location is often hard to get into with the entrance being right before a busy has station and business intersection. They have limited parking, but do have plenty of accessible parking for those in need. The restroom is just wide enough for a wheelchair too.

We have purchased: - bushes and flowers - flowers and potting soil for Mom for Mother's Day - soil and mulch for covering new grass seed - a special spray to remove some "critters," apparently called 'scale' which are some shelled animal that was coating ALL of the bark on one of our trees... apparently making some kind of sugar, which made the bark and almost all of the leaves black... which attracted bees and wasps and yellow hackets and other similarly-shaped stinging bugs, buzzing all over the place.... AND just like the Timberwinds team said... spray the tree twice and it will be cleared of the scale, and that is precisely what happened... Thank you, especially, Timberwinds, for the All Seasons Horticultural & Dormant Spray Oil that remove the scale The team is friendly and helpful, too!
