I see some had bad experiences. Ours was anything but. Stopped in on a weeknight and had a great 45 minute consultation with one of the family members. We were looking to replace floors and counter tops. With absolutely no pressure we picked out the floors and counters and were scheduled for an in home quote that night. Quote went well. How it was going to work was well explained. Timeline was reasonable and so was the price (I know because this was quote 2). Counter showed up on time. Floor was done as scheduled. Everything went really well. A month+ later and there have been no issues with anything. Nice that we could keep this job local with a family run business too. read more

Scammers, stay clear. They will damage your property and then deny it. Sold us expensive hardwoods but installed crap.

Horrible scammers. Once they have your credit card they will charge on it at will, above and beyond the contract before the cabinets are even delivered let alone installed. They do terrible work, not securing cabinet properly, installing drawer rail guards loosely, under sizing electricity loads for the stove and ovens so they pop off, measuring wrong so they ordered extra cabinets that you pay for but do not receive. Worst of all they have been sued many times and if you look up their business at the State of Illinois Corporation look up you will find when they get into financial and legal trouble they simply file for bankruptcy. They then reopen under new corporate name so they are not responsible for the debts they owe customers. They have had many names over the years. read more

We are thrilled with our new hardwood flooring! Value Floors did a great job with the installation including ripping out and hauling away the old tile and carpeting. We have a split-level home with the lower level being on a concrete slab (which required engineered hardwood) and the upper level being on a normal plywood subfloor (we got traditional hardwood for that level). It was hard to find engineered hardwood that matched traditional hardwood at the big box stores and other flooring places we tried. Value Floors had matching products from the same company (Somerset) and we love the results! read more

I would give them zero stars if I could. They take your credit card and refuse to do business with checks. They then start charging it, before installing anything and over the agreed amount. They measured wrong and ordered extra cabinets that they took back with them but did not refund my account. I had to close the credit card because they were over charging evenbefore any cabinets were delivered. They installed a glass top stove within inches of a kitchen sink with water to crack it. They undersized the electricity to the oven so it would overheat and turn off when used even though the proper power was at the wall available. They deliberately installed drawer rails with half the number of screws needed and put them in very loosely so they would soon fail. If you put their name into the State of Illinois Corporation look up you will find they had many variations on their name. They get sued, declare bankruptcy and start a new corporation with the same characters in charge. Google their names and check Better Business for the many complaints by customers. read more

I am guilty. I went to 2 box stores for pricing and roughly calculated what I'd need to finish the job. For a small basement bedroom, their prices were outrageous. I went back to my roots and decided to talk to the local "mom n pop" operation. I ignored the bad reviews because no one stays open for over 40 years without some decency. I walked in with a rough sketch of the area I needed carpeted. He sat down and ran the numbers. Immediately, he came up cheaper for what I felt was very close in quality. We ended up upgrading, not because he pushed us to, but because it is what my son wanted. The pricing was still WELL below what the box stores would have been. Fast forward... Install guys showed up, were very respectful of the home and cleaned up afterward. The carpet was laid perfectly. I'll update this review once the room is done (it's a bit of a mess since I am still finishing the build) but I am very happy with the entire process. read more

I would stay away from this place. I feel they took advantage of me and helpful customer service after the fact is non-existent. They can't be bothered! I ordered wood flooring from them because they carried the brand I wanted. Also, I like to support small businesses. I got the material after a few weeks but the price for "freight" and "shipping" was very high. Just as the job was to start, we decided to add a closet to the job. I called this retailer to order additional quantity. I was in a bad position, with my installer scheduled and ready to start. They tell me the price went up and I have to pay that huge shipping cost again and I should buy extra so I don't have to order again. I buy extra at the inflated price. I never was able to get them to tell me how much was for the material and how much was shipping. Turns out I bought more than I needed and had a very difficult time getting them to take back the extra. At one point the they swore at me. I was in contact with the distributer who sympathized with the bad treatment I was getting and suggested some other retailers I should go to next time. read more

I gave them the benefit of the doubt with there being good reviews on Google. Haven't even started our project yet but have already been unprofessional and bait and switched several times. They are unreliable and do not keep their word. Sales guy is ok but their "family" workers are rude. I am strongly considering suing them to get my deposit back and canceling. Don't bother! I made an appointment for 230 pm on last week. I get a call while in-flight, drive to antioch to pick up investment partner, arrive at location where quote was supposed to be done NO one there to measure. Then I call to speak with Jay he says he can be here at 315....then he calls,back to say I'll need to reschedule because it would throw off his entire day schedule. Well you threw off mine by not keeping our pre-scheduled appointment time at 230. POOR Customer Service! What's the point in making an appointment? read more

Just spent the day fixing thier crappy work. My kitchen cabinet was falling off the wall because you only need three of four screws to hold it on, right? Had to remove cabinet, found out the stud the top screw should have been in was cut away by them (????? why????), and re install. Also side cabinet next to stove was held on by four sheet rock screws into the wall, finding a stud is so much work! No, not ever, stay away. Oh, and they ran zip cord in my walls to wire up the under cabinet lights. Shoddy and dangerous. read more

The process was easy to buy carpet for my entire upstairs and 4 bedrooms. The installers did a terrible job and I have seams in every room and doorway. After telling me the carpet had to "breathe", and Value telling me I should be the one to call the installers I grew frustrated and briefly gave up. Now, a year later I'm told if i personally move all my furniture they will try and pull it all up and fix it, or they can offer me a couple hundred dollars.... really? I have seams all over, paid more than a few thousand dollars and they want to offer me a couple hundred dollars? I want to support local small business but I don't feel they are going out of there way to keep me as a customer. read more

I was very satisfied with my entire experience with this family owned company! The gentleman at the store were genuine and helpful, Jay helped me to pick the perfect flooring and Ron and Mike who did the install are knowledgeable, efficient and respectful of my home. I had a leak in my refrigerator that would have ruined my floors and they fixed the problem and made sure my floors would be safe. They went above and beyond in many ways and I would recommend this team to anyone looking for efficiently installed and beautiful flooring. I have one suggestion for anyone considering using this company, Run! Run as fast and as far as you can. do not fall for the bait and switch. They don't know the difference between a cabinet skin and a refrigerator panel. They had to order my cabinets 3 times and I still don't have the right items. They blame it on their rep. As I said, be very, very careful with these folks. The reply from them is inaccurate as to details and timing of events. If they now have box designs from this company in their showroom they arrived since we were there. Additionally, the manufacturer did send replacement porduct because of their warranty, and Value refused to deliver them to us. They expected us to come and pick them up but thankfully the mfg. rep took care of getting the replacements to us. Read the reviews on other websites about this company...there is a common thread. Value is only value if the quality meets or exceeds the price. In our case there was absolutely no value but lots of stress, verbal abuse, intimidation and a high price for very poor quality. We are selling these cabinets as scrap and hoping to recoup at least a third of what we spent. read more

We made an appt., a very nice and knowledgable salesman promptly came out to measure and show us samples. We chose hardwood for our LR and DR and new cabinets and countertops for the kitchen. I hired these guys to install carpet in my newly remodeled bedroom back in September of 2014. I chose them because they were close by and the online reviews indicated that they did good work. I did not shop around, so they could have been a little bit pricey, but for the great customer service I received, it was worth it! First, even though I had the measures for the room, they were willing to stop by my house to double check the measures, and it just so happened they could stop by later that day. Then, they were willing to order the carpet ahead of time, and wait for my call to schedule the installation (we had not yet installed the new casings around the doors and floors). Then, when they were installing the carpet, they were careful about not damaging my new casings (which were only protected by some layers of masking tape). The carpet is still in my bedroom now, and it looks great! I am very happy with the product and service I received, and I look forward to doing business with them again in the future. read more

Laminate floor in 2015. Over one month to complete a two day job. They seemed to only have one installer who was busy with a plumbing job while working on our floor. They wanted to screw down the wrong transition. Then installed a different transition that was still wrong. Doors would not close after installation. Was told that that was not their problem. Floor is delaminating in spots after only 8months. Big mistake hiring these guys. read more
