Went to MicroCenter in Yonkers on May 2nd to get a new battery for my daughter's laptop computer…read more We checked online and saw that there were 4 available. When we get there, my daughter went to the service department to see if they could install the battery that we would purchase at MicroCenter. As she was speaking to one technician, another one (who at the time was assisting another customer) looked over and mentioned that my daughter's computer seemed to need more work than just a battery. But we told him we only needed the battery. I guess they felt that women need help with computers so maybe he felt the need to give his unsolicited advice. Anyway, we paid the 54.44 with my credit card and went elsewhere in the mall to wait for the service to get done (just to install a battery). About an hour or so later my daughter gets a text from the technician saying they could not perform the service since they don't have the battery in stock - which was untrue - but ok, she preferred to get her laptop back. She went back with my credit card to get the return for the service that was not performed. The technician at the desk mentioned that the card was not necessary and gave her a "return" receipt reflecting that $0 was charged for the service. Fast forward to May 20th and the charge is still on my card. Searched high a low for the MicroCenter customer service number that is almost impossible to find. It is a call center for the US stores. Explained what happened to the rep and was told that someone from the Yonkers' store would contact me. Get a text message from Franco and told him my situation. He noticed that the service was not performed and mentioned that all I needed to do was come into the store to get my refund because they need the physical card to do the refund. Huh? Weren't we told on the 2nd that we don't need it? He tried several times but it would not work. So now I'm disputing the charge with my credit card. Provided a screenshot of the entire text message from Franco to me and his attempts to reimburse me and his inability to do it without the physical card (mind you, I don't live in Yonkers, don't have a car and was just given a ride there so I can't get there to get my refund with my physical card). The charge was reversed while my credit card company investigated it. Then on June 11th, I noticed that I was re-charged the 54.44 and when I questioned it, the rep from my credit card company mentioned that they were told that there was no problem with the charge. So I opened up a whole new dispute and called the MicroCenter call center again, spoke to Joel and he said he would reach out to Yonkers for them to help me. That was at 10:30 this morning and now it's 3:00pm and no call. So I guess I'll have to keep disputing the charge. By the way, my daughter later purchased a battery from this same Yonkers office (the 4 batteries were still there) and installed it herself so I guess we really didn't need the guys to help us out. I just want my refund for work that was not done.

My installer next day said the screws were too short. I again went in, Ben was great, gave me an upgraded wall mount, again at no additional cost. He was so apologetic. I am so impressed. Customer service is dead in so many places but I would go to this store forever based on my interactions now with two of the kindest, best salespeople I've met in decades of buying air conditioners & TVs.

I purchased in the Yonkers, NY in Central Avenue location. Because I purchased the unit at the end of the summer season, it received very little use in 2025. When the first major heatwaves arrived this year, the unit stopped cooling properly. Since the unit was still under warranty and I had also paid for extended service coverage, I contacted PC Richard for assistance. The first service technician told me the unit had been installed incorrectly because a rear grille had not been installed. He informed me that if I did not have the grille, I would have to pay $233 for a replacement. Fortunately, I had saved the grille because the original installer had told me it was unnecessary since there was already a grille from the previous unit. I showed the technician that I had the grille and asked him to install it. He refused, stating that the installer would need to do it. So I had to schedule another visit. The installer then came to my apartment, installed the grille, and left. When I turned the unit on during another hot day, it still did not work properly. With temperatures reaching 86 degrees in my apartment, I had to call for service again. During the next service visit, the technician informed me that the unit was STILL installed incorrectly. When I asked what was wrong, he explained that the installer had added the new grille but failed to remove the old grille from the previous unit. I asked how I was supposed to know that. His response was that the installer should have known. I then asked him to correct the problem. Initially, he refused, stating that the installer should have done it. At that point, after multiple appointments, conflicting explanations, and sitting in an uncomfortably hot apartment with a brand-new air conditioner that still did not work, I firmly expressed my frustration and insisted that someone take responsibility for fixing the issue instead of continuing to argue about whose job it was. Only then did the technician remove the old grille himself. The result? The air conditioner immediately worked perfectly. What should have been a simple 10-minute fix turned into FOUR separate visits. As the customer, I paid for the air conditioner, I paid for professional installation, and I paid for 8 years of service because I am not an HVAC professional. Yet I found myself caught in the middle of what felt like a dispute between the installer and the repair technician. Each blamed the other. The installer called the repair technician lazy, and the repair technician called the installer lazy. Meanwhile, the only person suffering the consequences was me--the customer--sitting in an 86-degree apartment with a non-functioning air conditioner during a heatwave. In my opinion, the installer bears responsibility for failing to install the unit correctly from the beginning. However, the repair technician is equally responsible for refusing to correct an obvious installation problem until after multiple visits and significant frustration on my part. What shocked me most was the complete lack of customer service. No one seemed focused on solving the problem. Instead, there appeared to be more concern about determining who was right and who was wrong. I paid for installation. I paid for service. I paid for peace of mind. Instead, I received FOUR appointments, finger-pointing, excuses, and days of discomfort for a problem that ultimately took only minutes to correct. This experience has completely undermined my confidence in PC Richard & Son's installation and service departments. Customers should never be forced to referee disputes between employees while suffering the consequences of their mistakes.

I spoke with Jonathan and told him that I tested the charger with a multimeter and it seemed to have the right voltage. But I told him not to take my word for it because maybe I didn't test it correctly. He took a look at the charge port of the computer to make sure it wasn't physically damaged. The port was fine. He took another charger and plugged it in just to rule out a charger problem; the new charger started charging the computer!??? Out of curiosity, I asked him if I tested the charger incorrectly by telling him how I did it. He said that just because I was getting the correct voltage that didn't mean that it was supplying the right amperage. This may be helpful to others that read this review since many of us use YouTube to try and fix things: I learned how to test my charger by watching a YouTube video by a "computer tech". He showed how to test a laptop charger, and stated that if the voltage is correct, then the charger is fine. He didn't state that the voltage could be fine, but the amperage could be a problem. The lesson here is don't rely on YouTube or assume the worst if you try to fix your computer by watching a video and running a test on it that fails. Just take your computer to a honest and helpful professional like Jonathan. He didn't charge me any fee to take a look at my computer. I just bought a new charger from him and I'm using the computer now to write this review. If I need help with a computer repair in the future then I'll just go back to this shop. Highly recommend that you take your computer there if you're having a problem with it.

The thing lasted a year before I dropped it, cracked the glass and brought it here. The original $89 estimate became $120 because it had to be ordered. OK, that happens. The phone was never the same once I got it back. Chronic LTE reception issues as if an antenna was damaged during the repair, or not connected, or something. I don't know this for a fact. WIFI works but over the air LTE is spotty, often, at the worst times. Sometimes the phone works normally, other times it simply cannot get online even with 4 or 5 bars. I used to be able to sit on the street near my home and follow up on calls, texts or online goofing off, but no more. Problem is, Optimum service is often poor and it can be challenging to differentiate the phone's issues from Optimum. So do I get another phone suspecting it's Optimum that's lacking or take a leap of faith and hope it's the phone that's the problem, not the service? Could it be a software issue or something? I changed the SIM card. Spent hours with Optimum tech support resetting, testing, etc. Eventually, they said it sounds like the phone may have a problem and talk to Samsung. I brought it back to the shop, but it happened to be working at that moment so nothing to do. Less than three weeks in, the screen cracked as I was texting. Worth mentioning the phone was in a case. I paid $120 for less than 3 weeks use of a crappy piece of glass. Circular damage quite apparent, like a finger press would cause, but because it had radial cracks they said "it's cracked" (duhhh, that's why I'm here) and not their fault. No refund, no replacing the glass, I'm out of luck. I paid them almost the cost of the phone for nothing. In my view, they damaged the phone and the shit glass they installed lasted three weeks before finger pressing damaged it. I've learned my lesson. Don't bother repairing phone glass. Get stronger glass and a case.

We have televisions at home, but I thought of having another one, so I bought a new 65" Sony master series A9F OLED TV with custom mounting to replace our living room TV, for the old one to be put in my son's room. We had it custom installed. I'm glad that I chose Value Electronics to buy the TV. It is, for me, a state-of-the-art product, so to speak, because it's better than my old LCD TV. I like the unit and the mounting paraphernalia that comes with it. The image is much clearer and brighter. What's more, the entire transaction was so great and smooth. Several items 1-it took 15 months to do a control 4 project that should have taken a week. They gave no instruction, had no knowledge of programming system and never ever could get it working fully . They blamed the cable company so I switched. Still didn't work. They blamed the TV which they bought and installed so I replaced. Still didn't work. 2 - The new company I hired to replace these clowns basically in 2 days repaired every item they could not get right for months 3- all the items the owner Barry said could not be compatible or done with the system were done by another professional within minutes. 4- they sold bad remotes which seemed refurbished, downloaded old archaic software 5-The plugs / Wires going into the back of the system were plugged into the wrong locations from beginning . One box just sat there with no plugs. The sensors were not attached. The lack of volume control which has hounded us for months until we found one of 10 companies who immediately knew the problem 6 - The owner of the company Barry Reiner never personally come in once to review the system knowing the problems we continuously had. Thats how he ran the project and his business. He had the balls to actually say he wouldn't come continue troubleshooting his own mistakes until I paid him for service call which I wouldn't do. Stay away. Far away. Rip off and waste of time and horrible service.

I have been a customer of Sound Insight for over 20 years now and have gotten to know Fred Kaplan the owner. He put in my first plasma tv when the technology was brand new and did a perfect job integrating it with the sound system he installed at the same time. I have subsequently upgraded my tv and Fred recently set me up with streaming services to go with it - I know I'm way behind the times That it took so long. Being of an older generation new technology challenges me and Fred therefore made my system simple and easy to maneuver. And after Optimum came in and switched me to fiber optic cable they basically carelessly dismantled all of the good work done by Sound Insight. Fortunately for me all it took was one phone call and Fred came over that same day, fixed everything and wouldn't even let me pay him for an emergency "house call". I would recommend Sound Insight to anyone looking to set up new high tech tv or audio in their home.

Howard was only interested in the whole thing, demanded 50% up front and another 25% upon the delivery of speakers, which would mean I would have paid 75% of the cost of the project 3 months BEFORE anything even installed. When I was trying to find common ground the project fell apart and I went with another provider. Strange and unpleasant. The combination I do not like... :(

I asked specifically for help during normal operating hours Saturday. Eddie seemed to think he could squeeze me in after hours on a weekday. He ended up canceling very last minute on our first appointment and completely blew me off on the second. No response at all. I had to take the lead on everything -- including finding out how to provide payment. If you have too many jobs booked or my project isn't important enough, why would act like you're available?
