Fair warning!!! If you are thinking about purchasing furniture from Value City, please think long and hard before you do. My furniture was damaged before I was able to receive it, they knew it, and they were supposed to have it fixed back in July 2025. In fact, I received a voice-mail message on 7/15/25 @ 11:41am, ph#937-436-9545 left by the Manager (Kathy, Miamisburg/Centerville location); in fact, I still have the message saved on my phone, iPad, and PC in case they try to deny any of this. I have forwarded the Manager's message to several other sources that is set to help me resolve this unprofessional and unethical matter if it is not resolved soon. When the material arrived for repairs to my leather furniture, the furniture repair guy could not believe his eyes. Not only did they send the wrong piece that matched, they left out an entire section. I have gone back into the store more than 3 times since inquiring about when they were ever going to take care of my furniture. I keep getting the runaround from a customer service guy and the Manager (Kathy). First they said, 3-4 weeks at best, then they said 6-8 weeks, then 8-12 weeks...and they have not even granted me a courtesy call, since Kathy left the voice mail on 7/15/25. This is unethical and unprofessional, and they should compensate me for my inconvenience and the stress this has and continues to cause. I still don't even have the material to repair the damage they did and agreed to fix back in July. That was 3-months ago, almost 4. I am still waiting... I will be back on here to update you on how this goes. But, in the meantime, do yourself a favor, and don't end up in this same situation that I am facing. They simply have shown that they do not care. I even bought a set of dining room chairs earlier on, while waiting on resolve. You would think they would have the common decency to show some sense of tact. read more

Went to see what the store had and the customer service rep who greeted us wanted to argue with me about what I wanted, so we left after a cursory amount of time looking at their limited selection for office furniture. She also demonstrated some odd behavior by pulling her mask off as she came towards us. She was wearing it until she saw us, and then pulled it down to her chin. We were both masked so I'm not sure why she decided we didn't care about wearing masks seeing that we were both masked. I don't patrol others' masks but it was just weird to not make a customer comfortable by matching what their etiquette is for mask wearing. read more

Whatever happened to Customer Service ? When you enter the store you have to search for someone and when you do see an "associate" they walk past you like you are bothering them. Prejudice... Furniture it's over priced af, I had to wait OVER 6 months for a replacement of my couch and when It finally arrived , they only brought HALF Of the couch. Calling the customer service number is a JOKE! No body ever answers.. I don't recommend you look here for long term furniture.. read more

My husband and I needed an end table and coffee table. If you do as well, DO NOT get it here. We have had this table for about 8 months. I was wheeling it out of the way to vacuum my floor. The table literally cracked apart and fell to the ground. We called and because it was 10% off there was nothing they could do for us... even though their table broke top from bottom. They can "fix it" for $100 unless you have the warranty, which cost more than the table itself. So now I am fixing the table I spent money on. I have never met a place that just refused to offer compensation for their customers. read more

Had the best furniture shopping experience ever! Had just been to a nearby Ashley store where service was poor and they said they didn't work with any other Ashley stores as we were buying furniture for our daughter who was moving to Memphis. Manager was 6 feet away and wouldn't even make eye contact! We almost gave up and planned to wait until we got to Memphis but Value City was nearby! Jim Ralph greeted us and was so helpful but low pressure, arranged for the Memphis store to do the delivery and I was so happy that I bought 3 items for myself! Steve and Nate delivered and didn't complain about going up to the third floor! Thanks Value City! Great service, quality up to date furniture at a great price! Will be back! read more

Robin was patient with my daughter while she was going back and forth on which furniture she wanted and I hadn't decided on what mattress to get her so even though Robin wasn't working when I called back, Carlos was happy to look up my order and talk to me even though Robin got the commission. I would definitely shop at VCF again. My 15 year old can't wait to get her bedroom furniture. Thank you Robin and Carlos for going above and beyond. The customer service was excellent. read more

purchased a hole bed set and bed back in January and well they now moved the delivery date 2 times and still waiting for my order.

We bought a bed, the frame broke and the said they only give warranty for 90 days. They did no offer a solution. I guess I should throw the bed to the garbage. Bye bye $600 dollars, not even a year read more

I'm so beyond angry Dalton and I got this gorgeous couch with an ottoman from ValueCity Furniture in like the first week of may and the ottoman broke the night we got it so I called the next morning and they said they would replace and the next shipment would be May 31 no biggie so I waited and they called I went to pick it up and it wasn't there at all even tho they called saying it was okay no biggie just mistake they said it would actually be here last week some time so we waited no call they finally call this week and I get out there and yet again I'm there and ready to pick up it's not there AGAIN so I call the value city number to see when it's actually coming in and I waited for 50 mins for help then when I got on the phone the lady was like well ma'am it looks like you have all your pieces of furniture after I had already told her the entire situation and I said this is a replacement for my broke ottoman and she said oh that's the mix up that won't be at the store til AUGUST 4th another 2 months I said you're joking right ?!? And she said no ma'am that's the only truck delivery that piece to that store and I said there is no way to get it faster??? And she said I can offer you 15% off your ottoman I said it's already paid for i don't need 15% off of a free ottoman I just need my ottoman and she said you'll have it June 4th needless to say I'm never spending my money there again! read more

The one star is based on the Customer Service of the Manager at Value City I purchased furniture in May 2020 did not receive any furniture for 4 months once I received parts of my order every month more call the furniture is coming then no it's not coming then in November the entire order was going to be delivered I already had received the majority of my order. I had to make numerous calls to stop the double delivery and today 11/21/ 20 another order of double chairs I refused what was not mine. I should not have to fix their inventory they are giving away furniture when you attempt to call to make sure things are correct the Manager will not return your call ! I placed an order for furniture on 5-18-2019. I scheduled to pickup at the store on 5-31-2019. The tracking information given to me said furniture was ready for pickup at the Dayton mall store. I drive to the store expecting my furniture to be ready for pickup. The staff said it was not here. They said it would be another 6 days before it would ready for pickup. So I asked if I could pick it up at the warehouse in Columbus. That's where they kept telling me it was at. Nope not the warehouse in Columbus. It's on a truck to the warehouse. Umm. really after 2 weeks. So I cancelled a $1700 sale and walked out. Going to close my credit account with them as well. If you need furniture that you can actually take with you from the store when you order it. DON'T GO HERE. read more

I have shopped exclusively at this Value City Furniture for a couple of years now for furniture. Normally have a lovely and pain free time. This time however, my boyfriend and I were made so uncomfortable we left the store and walked away from a $2.3K couch because Rodger made us so uncomfortable. Sexism still exists in 2018 unfortunately. I (a woman) was the one with the money to buy the couch, my boyfriend was just helping me shop; we made that clear that I was the one buying a couch. If i asked a question, he answered my Boyfriend as if he had asked. When FORCED to address me, Rodger slowed down his speech and talked to me as if I was a child. My BF was the only white male in the shop so he would not stop harassing him trying to sell him this couch. I was so uncomfortable my boyfriend suggested we leave, because he was uncomfortable with someone talking to me this way! I will have to come back and find someone willing to treat me like a human. This was some of the most blatant sexism i had experienced, so ladies PLEASE find a salesman who makes you feel comfortable and respected. NOT RODGER. read more

Bought a couch there two years ago and had nothing but issues with it. We sold it when we moved. We bought a new couch and a bed there, deciding to give it a second chance. The bed broke less than 5 months later. We bought the extended warranty. They told me they would be out to fix it and give me a call two days before the scheduled appointment to give me a time frame of when they would be here. I never got that call so I called the next day to be told they rescheduled my appointment without telling me and that it would be another week. Another week of sleeping on the floor, another day I will have to take off of work, and the only day they'll do it is during a school final. The manager contacted us and we tried to work with her. We ordered new parts to fix the broken ones, but she didn't make it right. We had to go in and she was adament that we were told that we needed something called a bunkie board. Basically a small box spring. We kept saying that we didn't want them, that's why we picked this bed because we wouldn't need it. We also had no more money. We told her that my brother, an engineer, had told us that the center support was poorly made and that it needed to be remade out of stronger wood and thicker since it is only about an inch thick. Well, the manager got an attitude and said she had been in the furniture business for for more than 30 years and she knew what she was talking about. She has been selling furniture, not building furniture. She finally just said to give us the bunkie boards, even though we didn't want them, and to have the technician come out and tell us that the bunkie boards would solve the problem because maybe if we heard it from a man we would listen. This was very offensive to us! My husband will tell anyone that I know more about building than he does. It taught him how to find a stud, I can tell him how to build or fix most household issues, and I am the one who usually puts together furniture. My brother, having had more experience and such, we both listen to more, just so happens he's male but that has nothing to do with it. Well, she walked away but the technician did not tell us that the bunkie boards would fix the problem, instead he hesitantly said we could try it but that what really needed to happen was to have them make a good center support for us. Hmmm....sound familiar? We gave in and tried the bunkie boards though so that we could honestly say that the bunkie boards were not the issue. We hated the bunkie boards because now the mattress was lifted above the rails to keep it in place so the mattress kept wanting to slide. That one inch also made enough of a difference that there was no way to possibly have my feet touch the floor when sitting on the edge and made it so that the bed was just too high for my dogs (chihuahua and bichon) to be able to get in and out of the bed on their own. If it was going to make it stop breaking though, we were willing to try. Unfortunately, we were right! The bunkie boards did NOTHING! We slept on the bed one night before it broke again. Not only is the quality bad but the only good customer service we have now found has been the person who sold us the bed. I'll let you all know how this turns out. All we want is for them to fix the one part that keeps breaking so that we can enjoy the bed and sleep comfortably on it. The sad part is that the bunkie boards that they gave us cost about $100 while the fix we are asking for is less than $15 at Home Depot and I know they already have the supplies at Value City to fix it or could get it probably even cheaper! It will probably come down to us building it ourselves and Value City losing our business as well as all of our family and friends. read more
