I had a mixed experience here, so I'm giving 3 stars…read more My nail technician, Kayla, was very sweet, gentle, and did a nice job with my basic pedicure. The young woman at the front desk was also very kind and even ran outside to help me when I dropped my cane, which I really appreciated. The tools appeared clean, the salon is attractive and modern, and the FishHawk location is extremely convenient. However, the salon itself needs a thorough cleaning and better upkeep. There was a noticeable amount of dust and debris throughout the space. I was told this was from acrylic nail services, but I've been to many nail salons that offer acrylics without the salon feeling dusty or dirty. The air conditioning was also not working, so it was uncomfortably warm. But the receptionist did give me a heads up when I made the appt the day before and the ac tech was on site working on it. The staff seem genuinely nice and are clearly trying, but the overall cleanliness and maintenance need attention. I would return for Kayla and the convenient location, but I hope the owner addresses the condition of the salon.

I'm extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Bijou Nail Bar. I was placed with a brand…read morenew employee who clearly was not ready to be working independently. Instead of properly soaking off my gel polish, she aggressively filed my nails down to the point it was painful and left my natural nails damaged and paper-thin. My cuticles were barely touched, my nails were filed unevenly, and the polish application was poorly done from start to finish. I sat there for nearly 40 minutes hoping someone would notice what was happening and step in to help, but no one did. Thankfully, I was finally able to get Amanda's attention myself, and she kindly removed some of the polish so I could at least leave without it looking worse. After spending almost 1 hour and 45 minutes in the salon, I left with ruined nails and never even received the pedicure I had booked. The attached photo shows the condition of my nails when I left the salon -- damaged, over-filed, uneven, and completely unacceptable. What makes this even more upsetting is that my three daughters and I have been loyal customers since Bijou Nail Bar first opened. I've always supported this business, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I also requested that the owner call me directly regarding what happened, and I still haven't heard a peep. Had someone simply been honest that the salon was short staffed or that the employee was still training, I would have appreciated the transparency and gone elsewhere. Instead, I wasted nearly two hours and left feeling frustrated, ignored, and with damaged nails.

Last week I made my appointment with her and when I arrive she's with another client. I was on time and she wasn't. That wasn't the messed up part. The part that really showed me how lacking their customer service is that she never came out to tell me she was running late. I finally get fed up with waiting and ask for anyone to service my pedicure and see if she'll clear up by the time it's my manicure time. She doesn't. Instead she gets another customer and completely ignores me. The guy they had do my nails must have been new because my hands and feet looked chunky, even after voicing my concerns about the nail.
