I began working for this company last year, and unfortunately my experience was consistently negative. I worked at the Haani Mani, Desert Cove, and Glenn homes, and I experienced harassment, bullying, and a lack of support from both staff and management.
The management team did not seem to prioritize the well-being of their employees. When I experienced a death in my family and requested time off to attend the funeral, I was asked inappropriate and intrusive questions, including who had passed away and how they died. Instead of showing compassion, I felt like I was being interrogated.
The schedulers, Ronnette and John, frequently asked excessive questions whenever staff requested time off, making employees feel uncomfortable rather than supported.
The conditions in several of the homes were also concerning. There were persistent odors of urine and feces, and new employees were often subjected to bullying instead of being welcomed and properly trained.
My experience with Rose, the manager at Glenn, was especially disappointing. She often smelled strongly of cigarette smoke and showed very little empathy toward staff dealing with personal emergencies or injuries. I felt that the primary concern was whether someone would report to their shift, regardless of the circumstances. I was even told that if I could not come in, I should not come back.
Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend this company to anyone seeking a supportive work environment, especially those who are new to caregiving. Employees deserve respect, compassion, and a workplace where concerns are taken seriously. read more
