I cannot express enough how terrible this woman treated us. We got serviced by them, got a new water heater installed and everything. Going through out home insurance was a headache, so when prompted after being serviced I accidentally left a 2-3 question review for Valley water heaters instead of Fidelity home insurance. My mistake, I called and apologized to the older woman working for Valley water heaters. She expressed how terrible any negative reviews affect her business. I also explained how I got the review mixed up and it was meant for Fidelity. She understood and said If I can call fidelity and ask to redo the review that would be great. SO I DID. they however told me , basically, it's not a big deal, and the 2-3 question survey/review was alrdy done. A week after the water heater was installed THE HOT WATER STOPPED WORKING. We only had cold water and my husband had to manually reset the pilot. EVERYTIME THE WATER WENT OUT which at first was almost every three weeks or so. I called valley water heaters, the woman said they ordered a part because the brand new water heater they gave us was faulty. Long story short, She had the part and would be calling myself or my husband back to get it replaced. We waited and never got a call back to schedule that part to be put in. Fast forward TO NOW. Yes we waited and dealt with it until now , I called them back and I kid you not, THE WOMAN WAS ABSOLUTELY 100% rude, very negative, and had a skewed recollection of what we last agreed would be happening. The only thing she said after I told her my name and why I was calling is "YEAH YOURE THE ONE WHO LEFT US A NEGATIVE REVIEW. " But really play that back in a discriminatory tone. As a client, nobody should be spoken to like that. Bottom line she was being very spiteful and did not want to help out with what she said she would(they have the part we need and the manufacturer shipped it to them specifically so we could get serviced by them) I was kind, I was pleasant, I was never rude. I am just appalled at how she spoke to myself and my husband and refused to service us any further. She called today to say the part is being shipped back to the manufacturer, we need to call them because she "DOES NOT WANT TO DEAL WITH US". Seriously, wow. A family owned business who cares about their clients. I had an issue with my water heater and called at 8:30 pm at night and Laura answered the call while she was at a birthday dinner for her husband and son who also work at Valley Water Heaters. I was going out of town the next day to Disneyland for my kid's birthday party so they spent extra time telling us how to shut everything off while we were gone to avoid any stress or headaches. They came the next day and continued to address the issues promptly. I've used them in the past, used them now, and will continue to use them in the future. read more

I've never encountered a plumbing/water heater company like this one. We had no hot water and I asked for a visit. Adam came out and inspected the existing water heater and found code violations, a non-spec water heater base that was in danger of collapsing, water pressure so high it could burst the water heater, etc. I asked him to "make things right," after which he worked from afternoon to evening to get the job done. Not only did he install a new top-grade water heater, but he also had to build a new base, change the pressure regulator to the house, install new over-pressure drain piping and an expansion device, redo the piping into the unit, etc. He was remarkably patient and calm during this entire episode, even when unforeseen problems arose. The technical work was outstanding. I've never seen such clean angles in piping, secure junctions, top-grade materials, and attention to detail. Laura and Jerry in the main office were incredibly helpful and concerned that the job be done at the highest quality level. Laura even pulled and paid for city permits to make sure all the work was to code. I rarely take the time or effort to write reviews, but this instance was different because of the unusally great service. read more

Had our water heater repaired under a home warranty (Fidelity which is also garbage) Valley Water Heaters was assigned to fix it and they did replace the lower element of our AO Smith electric 80 gallon water heater back in 2020...they accomplished that repair reasonably quickly and the plumber was very nice...fast forward to 7/6/23...turns out that plumber didn't do some simple things like anti seize/teflon paste to insure the element wouldn't leak or seize into the water heater and now it's bad again. Called Fidelity to have it repaired and everybody is washing their hands of this because it's "Commercial". I included pictures to show that this water heater was certainly maintained by Valley Water Heaters but now they decided it was no longer their problem and that they were, "not licensed to work on commercial water heaters" I'm in a house..a big house but certainly not a commercial building. I also offered to pay full price to include emergency repair but they claimed they couldn't service this water heater. I offered to pay more than their going rate to fix this yet they still won't take care of it....I can see how not being licensed to work on "Commercial Water Heaters" might be a problem and I guess I should turn them into the State for screwing it up a few years ago on an appliance they weren't licensed to work on. Be warned and avoid! My advice is that you find and go with another company. If your insurance/warranty points you to Valley Water Heaters, then ask for another company. I am definitely filing a complaint and reporting them to the California Department of Consumer Affairs--Contractors State Licensing Board. This company is not to be trusted. Among other malicious and egregious acts, I experienced false representation, rude service and the worst of all, racketeering. Laura -- she claims to be the owner of the company -- started our conversation with an unnecessarily harsh and confrontational tone. That should have been the first red-light. She referred a restoration company. But because we know a better and more cost efficient restoration company, we told her we'd go with the other company. She wasn't happy with that. At the time we thought it odd, but now I suspect she was likely getting kick-backs or something. The straw that broke the camels back was when she shrilled at me over the phone. She claims to have spent four hours explaining the situation to my family members. Totally a lie. She then implied that "you people" do "suspicious" things. I called her out on her racist undertone. Advice to business owner: polite customer service goes a long way. When people have bursting pipes and home emergencies, the last thing they want to hear is someone being all nasty over the phone. read more

I'm the property manager for one of my clients who's property I manage. I submitted a claim to the home warranty company on behalf of my client because the water heater was leaking. The home Warranty company assigned Valley Water Heaters as the vendor to address this issue. They provided me with the vendor's contact information and phone number. I called and spoke with Laura. After I advised her that I was the property manager for the property, she refused to speak with me stating that my name wasn't on the work order. I completely understand. I had my client call the home warranty company so they can have me added to the work order that way I can authorization to speak with the vendor. After I was added to the work order, I called and spoke with Laura and at this time she released information to me regarding scheduling the repairs. I called this morning and spoke with Laura once again and introduced myself once again, with my management company's name , my name and advised that I was the property manager and I wanted to follow up just to make sure that the water heater had been replaced. Very rudely and abrasively, Laura proceeded to say " I can't talk to you, you will have to call the owner." Very well knowing that we have been through this song and dance already. Needless to say that her customer service skills and professionalism are completely lacking. We are supposed to work as a team to get our mutual client's issue addressed and resolved. I will make sure that if any other client of mine ever gets this company assigned, to their pluming issues, that I share my experience and assure that they don't use them! FNHW told me that the company (Valley Water Heaters) would call me with in 2 hour they never called me . So I called and talked to a woman named Laura and she told me that she was going to order the part next day air and that it would be fixed. Well no call so-called and this Laura was so rude talking over me not letting me talk I asked to speak to a supervisor and she hangs up the phone on me . And then she calls FNHW and canceled my service little dose she know I called to. And for a company to refuse work looks bad on the company who ever hired this lady needs to teach her customer service skills .i get it if ur having a bad day but it doesn't give u the right to be a bitch to ur customers........ I did not keep him around long enough to review their work because they charged $190 for about 30 minutes worth of work and taking out my hot water heater. They showed up on time that was good, they were sent by my home insurance company who now I think have a relationship with them to get your money and void your warranty. By looking at the heater and the circulation pump without opening it or examine it, and spending about 5 min looking at the unit they wrote a report to my insurance company that this is a pre existing condition and my warranty was denied fixing it. These folks at Valley Water Heaters are the BEST!!! Our water heater completely shut down on the Thursday before the 4th of July holiday weekend and needless to say we had a MAJOR FLOOD happening in our garage. Our home warranty company said they put in an emergency service request that afternoon and we were told the contractor would be in contact within 24 hours, that never happened and after several calls to them, we were not contacted by the contractor until Sunday afternoon! They said, they did get the emergency request from the insurance company but they would not have been able to come over the holiday weekend and the soonest they could come was on Tuesday, July 5th! More Flooding, Buckets, sheets & towels 24/7 is what went on at our home all along, NO FUN... These folks were worthless and after showing up on Tuesday, they said they would send the pictures and report to the home warranty company that same evening by 5:30 pm. You will not be surprised to learn, they never did! That night and the next two days we went back and forth between 3 hour calls with the warranty company and the contractor, and one point we had them both on two separate phone calls to get this issue handled. That never happened and after much more time on the phone into the early evening the warranty company finally relented after much pushing and outright disgust at how we were being serviced they finally contacted another company, "Trumpet's Playing, Valley Water Heaters to the rescue! This long time family owned and operated company contacted my wife within 30 minutes of ending the call with the warranty company and they said they would be to our house on Wednesday, they came did there report and assured us they would do everything in there power to get immediate authorization from the warranty company to replace the dead water heater, get the appropriate city of Simi Valley permits and work out the required updates that were determined by the city to bring us up to current code. Friday the work got handled, new water heater, stand, valves and a VERY hard one agreement from the city permit department manager over an agreement to utilize a work around for what was going to be about an $850-$1,200 major amount of new drainage line work they insisted needed to be done to get us to code and this they wanted us to foot the bill for and have Valley Water Heater break the bad news to us. The folks at Valley Water Heater were not down with this and fought on our behalf to make a common sense work around that would not involve us paying to have for what the city was pushing for. Long story short, these folks epitomize what a company should be in every way possible. They are caring, professional, timely and they go above and beyond to get your problems handled and service you as you deserve to be because they really do care about what they do. Put in a claim on Wednesday afternoon noon with OLd Republic Home Warranty. They sent out Valley Water Heaters on the next day. Valley Water showed up a few minutes early then got approval from ORHW to replace the water heater. They installed a new 50 gallon tank in less than 2 1/2 hours. These people are REALLY GOOD. The lead man is Adam. Knows his job well. His trainee is also very good doing his job as well. I was without hot water for less than 24 hours total time. I would have Valley Water Heaters back anytime. My cost was total of $75.00. Pretty darn cool!!! read more

Not all heroes wear capes. Woke up one morning to find my garage flooded. We had just moved in to the home and unpacked boxes remained, so they basically turned to mush and funk. We called our home protection policy holder and they assigned some random local company. I called them, left several messages, looked at yelp and saw horrible reviews, got scared but remained hopeful they'd call me back....nope. Next day I called ORHP, said hey this is bad, seriously we need someone to be dispatched today. Cold showers in winter suck. Anyways, they sent me to Valley, and within a few HOURS someone called me, scheduled an appointment and sent Adam the very next day. In walked Adam. This man saved the day. He talked to ORHP, got confirmation of our policy and told us he'd have it installed in the next couple of hours. Hours, people. Valley just happened to have the same brand, size, and type of water heater we needed. Coding requirements added certain technical terms I don't understand but what I do know is that we could have mold, rot, and paid 2600 out of pocket for this service. Nope. Final price was 75 dollars. Adam was a master of his class, took the time to explain all those technical terms (bless him for trying) and did it with a pleasant disposition. This morning I discovered my water heater leaking badly. I called Fidelity home warranty who assigned Valley Water Heaters to me. Adam came out and quickly assessed the problem and reported back to Fidelity. We were approved for a new water heater and Adam pulled one right off his truck and got to work! He brought up us to code as well. He was very polite, informative throughout the whole process and worked very cleanly. When my water heater broke and I called in a repair order at 7:00 am, Valley Water Heater returned my call by 8:15, and was at my home by 10:00 AM. Justin took down my broken water heater so that the drywall could dry out, came back the next day and reinstalled the new one. Very nice, friendly and most of all he knew what he was doing! These guys were the best! I lost two water heaters at the same time. They are a family owned business, and are friendly and cordial at all times. Laura helped me set up the appointments quickly and her husband Jerry was part of the installation crew. Calling Laura is like calling your family (if you like your family). She is nice and has a sense of humor, which is helpful as we were showering with only cold water. Jerry is not only smart and experienced, but hilarious as well. They worked hard to get us back in business with hot water.... and for that I am very thankful. Be weary if you are a woman. Old Republic Home Protection sent them out to look at our leaking water heater. I was getting tiered of having to relight the pilot light at random due to a leak, so I gave them a call. It was over 10 years old, it was due for a replacement. Bobby came out in a T-shirt and jeans. He told my lady that it was not installed correctly. The exhaust vent was wrong. The outdoor enclosure improperly installed and allowed rain water onto the heater and caused it to rust out. He couldn't light the pilot light after several attempts due to rust. He denied the warranty claim due to improperly installed enclosure allowing rain water to rust out the unit. He can replace and fix the problems for $1,900. She told him we will need to think on it, paid the ORHP service fee, and called our usual plumber. When I got home from work, she told me he was very nice, but she felt like she was being taken advantage of. I found the thermostat on the water heater had been moved to "Vacation mode." I lit the pilot light first try, and re-set it "Hot", and it fired right up. This made my lady furious and did nothing but cement her feeling of being taken advantage of. When our regular plumber came out, he was furious. He said the only problem with the enclosure was maybe a 1" gap where the exhaust pipe came out. The other things Bobby said needed to be replaced were minor fixes, and that rain was not the factor in the extent of the rust. He replaced the heater for under a $1,000 and fixed all the "problems" with a flange. Bobby did his job and saved ORHP $$. So if you are a home warranty group, he is your man. A couple things about our water heater that my lady knew and tipped her off to feeling scammed. 1. the pilot light assembly was two months old, replaced during an unrelated issue. There was nothing wrong with the pilot light, it would just go out from a random drip. 2. The water heater was installed 10 years ago, and was only a 9 year rated heater. 3. it had not rained for about a week, and yet the inside of the enclosure was covered in condensation. The water sprinklers were not a cause of the moisture, they had been shut off for over a month due to repairs being made on them. 4. Yes, the heater was extremely rusted, but it was not Antelope Valley rain rust levels. This was Florida level rust. This was crappy Antelope Valley well water level rust. 5. She had paid for water heaters replacements before, and knew that $1,900 was over priced. read more

When black soot burst out of the tub faucet, we called Old Republic, which assigned Valley Water Heaters. Jerry came out, immediately suspected what was wrong, went to work, and - voila! - was right. What great customer service! Jerry was a pleasure to work with. He removed a solar water tank on the side of my home and removed all exposed piping associated with it. Not only that, he also crawled into my attic and cut the pipes that connected the exterior tank to the solar panels on the roof. On top of this, he also re-arranged the piping of my water heater in the garage. It looked liked a puzzle of pipes in there! Now it looks good thanks to Jerry. His pricing is also very reasonable and delivers great work quality. Being a new homeowner, I had plenty of questions for him which he gladly answered. He is very friendly and honest and does great, clean work. I enjoyed the small talk we had especially since I was outside doing some yard work as well. The WORST company I've ever dealt with!!!! Their technician was very unprofessional and rude. Had to check my water heater and from the moment he came to my house he was grumpy. When I've asked him what's his diagnostic, his answer was "I don't know what the problem is"....But the moment he went out my door, he called my insurance company telling them he needs to order some parts to replace in my water heater. Weird, no?? Didn't leave me any invoice or W/O. After I told my insurance company I would like to get a second opinion since I don't trust this guy, I got a threatening phone call from Valley Water Heaters' office telling me that if I ask for a second opinion they will delay their report to my insurance company and the parts order. I told the lady on the phone that I don't trust their company and will ask for a second opinion, so she hung up the phone on me - Did I mention bad customer service?!!! Will Never recommend this company, save yourself some time and money and call a professional company to fix/change your water heater. read more

Thrilled! I hardly ever write reviews but I felt the need to write this one. We just moved into a new home and 2 days into living there my water heater broke- actually to be specific the burner needed to be replaced. I contacted Fidelity the Home warranty company expecting the worst. And right out of the gate they delivered "the worst"--needless to say the first plumber they sent out was useless and told me it would take nearly 3 weeks to get the part...which is totally unacceptable. After another conversation with Fidelity they arranged for a specialist to come over.... Justin from Valley Water Heaters came over and took the time to explain why and how the part had burned out and offered a solution to avoid the problem in the future. Professional. He went right out to his truck and called the manufacturer and ordered the part,..to be over-nighted! The part arrived as expected and Valley Water Heaters was flexible with their schedule and arranged to come over the next day. Adam came to install the part and showed up during the 8am-10am window with tools in hand and ready to get to work. He was also professional and knowledgeable. He connected the part quickly and was able to suggest a fix to avoid this problem in the future. He had the additional parts in his truck for a reasonable price including labor ($30)...he fixed the vent, clean up his mess and went on his way. It was a pleasant experience and I was very happy with Valley Water Heaters! Unfortunately, I gave them 4 stars because of their office assistant who was rude to my husband on the phone and hung up on him. I had multiple conversations with her and I agree,...she needs to work on her people skills for someone who is in the customer service line of work. I had a fantastic experience with Adam through Old Republic Warranty. He came out evaluated my 20+ year old water heater after I couldn't get anything but lukewarm water. He checked that the parts were too old to get and informed OR. They told him at first to try and "fix" my issue. He couldn't, told them so and worked with OR to have them authorize replacement. He then came the next day to replace my water heater and bring it completely up to code with no out of pocket cost to me. I can't speak to other experiences listed here on yelp but Adam is the man and I was very pleased with my experience. He was honest and forthright and explained everything that was wrong w/ my old one and how to operate my new one. read more

Guy came out while I was in the restroom. My 12 year old opened the door. He just made his own way in instead of waiting for an adult to come out. I was surprised to find him in my garage! I was already uncomfortable. When I told him the water heater was outside and that it was a tankless, he grumbled. Was this guy in a bad mood? I walk him out to where the heater is and he makes me feel even more uncomfortable. Holding his hands up to his face and complaining about everything that comes out of my mouth about the problem; from the the pipes to the fact that the heater is tankless, questioning if the work I had done was permitted. I walked away cause I didn't feel like being the complaint department and so he could test the heater. After supposedly checking the whole system, he claimed that the (2") pipes were too small and probably starving the heater and left. He never checked the emergency shut off valve, which we discovered later. SMH! read more
