Evins Mill - We had a lovely stay at Evins Mill. Beautiful retreat. Wonderful food and on point service.

This is an amazing place. We booked this place on 4th July weekend. They are better than a resort…read more First, there are private three hiking trails you can enjoy the nature. One of them lead you to an amazing waterfall ( don't forget bring your watershoes), you can swim and get into waterfall. Second, there are upscale cabins. They pay attention to every detail. My favorite is local roast ground coffee in our room. Third, the chef cook from scratch. They provide o'dour before 4 courses dinner and buffet breakfast. Even they gave us Togo lunch boxes when you checkout! Forth, the awesome and kind stuff. From check in, waitresses to bar tender, they have a great service. Fifth, the great location, it's just hour and half from Nashville. We enjoyed the peaceful and warm atmosphere. Five points to five stars. Totally recommend. Actually 3 of our friends already book their stay after we told them this awesome place. Can't wait to go back.

We wanted a night out and honestly the options are few in Smithville. Evins Mill has a dinner for $75 per person for 4 courses. Take my advice and save your money. Nothing about it was fine dining. The appetizer course consists of a few slices of cheese and crackers. Salad was straight out of a bag. Chicken Bousin looked and tasted like it came from Costco. Rib eye steak was very tough and chewy. With a bottle of wine and tip, the dinner was over $230! I really wanted to like it, but, just "no".

This was our 2nd Ghost Hunt here we went to. If you like that kind of thing I definitely recommend…read morethe Thomas House. Desk bells were ringing with no one around them. Odd noises. And in our room the first time we stayed we woke up to the lights on and we didn't turn them on. This last visit we took pics of everything in the room before we put suitcases or anything else in there to compare and we're so glad we did. 2 little porcelain statues appeared on the sink that was not there. I love this place. You get dinner with the package. The first time we had baked chicken & veggies and it was pretty good. This last time I'm just going to say the meals need some improvement. Everything else was great. From the people running the place to the people doing the ghost hunts are very nice and will answer all questions. I've been twice and will definitely be going back. You guys have got to go check this place out. Pictures are of The bell that kept ringing, the 2 porcelain figures that appeared, and the one my daughter took but I'm not sure what it is. Remember, this is a very old hotel with a lot of history. Make this your next stop. Go to their website and it'll let you know when the ghost hunts are. So much fun. And it's an all night ghost hunt. This was a treat and I loved every minute of it, most of the staff was amazing. I went with a group of friends as a last minute stand it and I will go back. The younger man (I think he was running it) came up on stage with so much energy and gave us a lot of tips and pointers to look for! The food was good, you could tell the kitchen staff knows what they are doing. The only complaint I think I would have is the older woman that checked us in, I couldn't tell if she was drunk, high or both and she was definitely not personable. Overall it was a great experience and we will be going back.
