I asked if we could sit on the porch and she just shrugged and walked off. This hotel needs a good cleaning. The porches which should have been inviting at this time of year were fifty. The carpet in our room was worn and dirty and our shower had mold in it. We stayed the entire weekend and had breakfast and supper there. The breakfast was really good and the suppers were okay but not what would expect at Red Boiling Springs. The other two historic hotels appeared to be much better. We did the entire spa which was one vibrating bed and one heat bed and a mineral bath in footed bathtubs. It was very pleasant and relaxing. After this the hosts were more polite and seemed to be happier than when we arrived. I do not recommend it.

The younger man (I think he was running it) came up on stage with so much energy and gave us a lot of tips and pointers to look for! Despite there being two check-in areas, we weren't even acknowledged until I approached the desk and greeted the employee myself. I was then told she "doesn't like to tell guests to move." A simple acknowledgment that we were standing there waiting would have been basic customer service. Later that night, around 11:50 p.m., guests were outside on the pool deck directly outside our window talking, laughing, and being loud. I called the front desk and was told there was no closing time or quiet time for the deck, but they would ask them to quiet down. Twenty minutes later, nothing had changed. When I called again, I was told there was nothing they could do, but they had complimentary earbuds available. Offering earbuds instead of addressing excessive noise directly outside a guest's window around midnight is unacceptable. Between the poor service at check-in and the way the noise complaint was handled, I would not recommend this hotel and will be contacting Holiday Inn/IHG corporate about our experience.

You will then find a basket of red apples, with the store sticker still on them (indicating they have not been washed). For the last stop, the offerings are banana/strawberry or peach flavored yogurts. It's like Ground Hog day, the same offerings day after day. We chose not to utilize housekeeping (we just swapped out our towels), but the same guy running the breakfast is the housekeeper as well. One last thing about the room. There are no drawers, but any place you might put your clothes is open. There is a nice closet with nice looking doors for hanging pieces.
