These folks are amazing! My family had the challenging prospect of emptying a 5600 sq ft house and barns over the past few years and Valley was wonderful. From our initial clean out two summers ago (9 20yd dumpsters thank you...) to our recent estate sale and subsequent clean out (30yd), they were responsive, prompt, and super easy to work with. When we needed something delivered and removed within 36 hours they were on it and never missed a beat. Both the drivers and office staff are friendly and courteous. Valley Roll-Off dumpster service delivered dumpster across the street from my son's apartment. When they tried to back into their driveway going back and forth and back and forth, drove over the curb into crass area, and eventually hit my son's car that was parked in the driveway. We watched the entire incident from the window. I learned two days later that they had denied the accident to the insurance company. Not only did they say they didn't do it but they fabricated a story why they couldn't have possibly done it. Giving the company the benefit of the doubt that driver had lied to the management I wanted to question the management what they knew and intended to give the correct information. They were very standoffish, defensive and arrogant and simply insisted their driver had not hit the car. Accidentally they mentioned details about the damage that only the driver could have told them. It was clearly apparent that the management was behind the "incorrect information". Important way to judge a company is to know how they handle situations when things do not go well. Accident can happen anytime but how the company deals with it, is important to know before you get in business. This company has clearly demonstrated they do not take responsibility for their actions and will deny at any cost. Valley was so accommodating; I can't thank them enough. I live in Boston but needed a dumpster for one day in Pittsfield. The size I requested was not available, so rather than be without a dumpster, they called to see if I'd be willing to rent one size larger. They gave me clear instructions on what I needed to do in order to obtain the dumpster (i.e. where to get the permit, how much the permit would cost, etc), and they were able to pick it up quickly-- after I learned that people in the neighborhood were using the dumpster to dispose of their own trash. I would highly recommend using this company to others! read more

I rented a dumpster for 3 weeks time and was told I could not go over a certain fill line - which I did not go over. I made sure to stay below the fill line and I paid extra for a TV that I put in the dumpster, and when the man came he had me sign a paper and in the fine print there was something they did not tell me about and it was in the fine print. I signed because I thought they were just dropping the dumpster and we went to great pains to keep under the limit. This was for an 86 year old disabled and legally blind man, on a fixed income, so when the bill came there was an additional charge, which was not expected. When we called them they said they told us over the phone, but they did not. The first we heard about this was when we got the bill. It would cost us more to get a lawyer to fight this then the bill is - so I guess we will have to pay it. So be careful when dealing with them - they are sleazy - we will never do business with them again. read more

My contractor hired this company to provide a dumpster. When Valley came to remove it, I saw their truck damage some curbing across the street from my house. I didn't think much of it until my neighbors asked me too have it fixed as they thought it might damage their tenants tires. No big deal, right? WRONG! I called Valley and talked to Sharon who immediately questioned why I called 5 days later and was 'suspicious' as if I was trying to pull a fast one. I asked to speak to the owner who wasn't in and she reluctantly agreed to 'maybe' have him call me back once they talked it over. After a week I called back, talked to Sharon again, once again got 'blown off'. I asked her if she knew what 'social media' was, and that they already were down to 3 stars on yelp. That did it!!! 1/2 hour later Tom Gerrity, the owner called and started ranting about 'how dare I call and threaten his "girls" with that "social media propaganda" '. Chill, dude! I told him that if his company treats customers like this, what does he expect....So the curbing is still not repaired and even if it does eventually get fixed, 1 star for Tom and his 'girls' for crappy customer service where the customer is always wrong! read more
