This is the only skatepark in the city of Burbank which is close to the boundary of North Hollywood. Don't expect it to look like Venice Skate Park. The size isn't that big but skateboarders have no other choice. Operating hours are as follows: Sunday: 12 PM - 8 PM Monday - Thursday: 4 PM - 8 PM Friday: 4 PM - 9 PM Saturday: 12 PM - 9 PM These hours could be improved during summer season when kids are out of school. It should be open earlier during weekdays so the kids could enjoy longer hours practicing their skate boarding skills. read more

We went to Valley Park for a sixth birthday last weekend, and aside from the astonishing cold--not the park's fault, though wow, does it get cold in Burbank--it was a good venue for a leisurely outdoor party. We took our two kids, two and four years old, and they both had so much fun we had to chase them to put on their jackets. The playground was clean and new, with swings and a cool play structure that had a futuristic space pod look. My boys enjoyed climbing and running around, and the older one particularly liked the open slide made of two parallel metal pipes. I liked that they were occupied, and that the ground was covered in that spongey playground floor material instead of sand. Our group took over a couple picnic tables that were nice and close to the play area, so we didn't have to spend the whole morning dragging the kids back to the actual party. There was also a gated skate area at the heart of the park, accessible with a paid pass. This provided free entertainment for our boys, who were fascinated by the sight of older kids on wheels. The park is right by the Bob Hope Airport, and this was a plus for our sons, too. They always appreciate some planespotting. I liked Valley Park and would be all over it if I lived in the neighborhood. Between the playground and other attractions, it's an A+ place to pass the time with small children. read more

Visited this hidden gem on Go Skate Day! Had a great time skating here and I love that it is very family/kid friendly. I can't confidently say skate parks are like that but having this private, monetized skate park helps to keep the skating community safe and out of the streets. *Helmets, knee pads, and elbow pads are required!* Safety always! - I wish what can be considered is the Non-Resident Annual Pass vs Resident Annual Pass. There really isn't much of a discrepancy between the two ($70 for nonresident and $60 for resident). I would love to think Burbank prioritizes their own residents a little more and can provide a better discounted rate!) -The hours to this skatepark could use some work. Beautiful park!! We found it through a Google search & drove without searching their website or Yelp reviews. To enter the skatepark you have to pay ($5 non- & $3 resident) and they only take cash or check. It wasn't as packed as I expected on a Friday evening like other skateparks we've gone to. There's also a schedule to designate- scooter, skateboard & BMX days (pic included). We passed a nicely kept large field (baseball/soccer?) and a small playground was in between the field & skatepark. Play area seemed to cater to kids 9 & under. read more

We love this park, our dogs love this park. It's super convenient that they always have open restrooms, an open baseball field where our dogs can run around safely. They have signs everywhere warning about coyotes, which is super nice. We love the community of young skaters, there's always kids and teens and families playing and hanging out and that's great to see. We really enjoy this park, always clean. read more

I've been skating for over 10 years and the features in this park are great for all levels of skate, scooter and BMX. However, the City of Burbank has long ignored needs of the community and users of the park and turned the community and culture into a hostile environment, pitting members of the community against each other. One, the park should not be fenced off. The City of Burbank charges an entry fee and goes as far as closing it for large majorities of any day. This creates a divide within the community and makes it less accessible. Two, because of this divide, there's no accountability or responsibility. Skaters feel less inclined to follow rules, because they already have to break one just to get in. Burbank could form a connection with their residents but actively chooses not to. Three, because of the fence, the park is only available for maybe 4 hours a day? For any parent that can't fit this time, forget it. The City of Burbank needs to rethink their approach. As it stands, there is so much wasted potential with this space. read more

Took my kids to skate and unbeknownst to you need all kinds of gear to skate there. The only kids inside were kids with scooters. They look like they were ready for tackle football with all that padding on. Apparently you need all the safety gear and need to check in with staff before you go in. Maybe they need to check you out to see if your good enough to skate there. ‍ read more

They charge to get in and they have bad hours of operation, unlike skateparks in cities all over the state. It was designed in the first wave of skateparks where they had local kids meet and say what they wanted, instead of pros who understand flow and what skaters want and need. The bowl seems like it was designed to be 6-7' deep but is now 3' deep. I think some nanny thought it would be dangerous decided to fill in the bottom making the transition bad ( and making it dangerous). Time for Burbank to put in a modern park that is open sunrise to 10pm, make it free like the baseball fields, tennis courts and other park areas, and put it on the other side of town where there are not drug dealers in the park. read more

Beautiful park. Small but sweet. Very clean and they have several sports going on. The skate park is always full of kids and it's very safe. In a great neighborhood and plenty of parking. It's a sweet little secret in a sweet little neighborhood. The playground is nice with updated play equipment. There's a softball field and there's always a game or two going on. It's a nice family park. There's people walking and jogging all the time. The best part is there are no bums or transients. The restrooms are clean, that's important. Lol. There's not that many benches so it's definitely not good for a birthday party or large gathering. All in all it's a nice park. read more

Skateboarders, don't waste your time here. They have specialized hours, split between skateboards, scooters, and bikes so they chance you'll go and make it at the right time is slim. It costs $3 for Burbank residents, $5 for anyone outside of Burbank. You can also pay for an annual pass. Full pads and helmet required. If you're a parent who wants to take their child to learn the ropes at a relatively empty skatepark (because no one goes here), it might be worth it to check out (but learn the hours in which you can go, it gets confusing). If you're like me and found this place on google while looking for somewhere new to check out, keep looking. Hit up north hollywood park or pedlow, both free parks that don't require protective wear/payment. read more

This is by far the worse skatepark ever. They have scheduled times. Like wth is that? You gotta wear full pads and pay? This place is full of spoiled little kids that just want to go down ramps. The management at this park wouldn't let my 3 yr old use his scooter. The dude at the desk said I should teach my son a lesson, give him a smack in other words, when my little guy wouldn't leave. My kids LOVE coming to scooter here. It's not too big so it's easy to keep your eyes on them. Most of the older kids are pretty friendly with the occasional bully here and there, usually younger boys. They offer snacks and drinks that my kids love to buy. Even hot dogs, corn dogs and cup of noodles just in case they are in need of food. I usually take my dog and walk her around while my kids play. Fun place for them to burn up that energy. read more

First review??? Wow! Glad to give it 5 stars. Sent my 8 year old daughter to Park & Rec's Skate Workshop. I have to say they have great instructors, very encouraging and really into helping the newbies love the art of skating. We took the 5 week course, 1 hour once a week and my daughter looked forward to her classes. After classes ended for the summer she took the first step of going out during open skate time. She had a friend with her, which helped and she had the best time! I am happy that Burbank has a park the kids can go to and feel safe. Great group of kids/people who look out for each other, especially for the little ones who are just learning. The instructors, Jason, Sam & Fred are great! Very approachable and friendly!
