Andrea Gray was recommended to me by another doctor which made me feel better despite the low review. I had been concerned since one eye had changed where I could see close better than distance. I made an appointment with no problem, received reminders and was given information to for the appointment via text which was so easy. The person at the front desk welcomed me and gave me paperwork to fill out upon arrival. I had little waiting time before I was called in. A technician took information and Dr. Andrea Gray came in to do the testing. Testing was thorough. I shared my concerns with Dr. Gray and she explained everything well. I do have a cataract on mush right eye. Life on the water took a toll as that was the eye that faced the ocean when at the wheel. She said it was normal for one eye to have a shift in prescription from a cataract. Instead of surgery right away, she gave me a prescription that allowed me to use my left eye for distance and right for seeing close. If that prescription didn't work for me, we can always have the surgery in the future. This is wonderful as some would push surgery. She was very knowledgeable, explained everything thoroughly and I felt comfortable with her. I do recommend Dr. Andrea Gray and will be very happy going back to her.

During my visit Dr Billingsley he says I have the beginnings of Cataracts and then said "forget that he ever said that". Then when checking out they say I owe a co-pay. HUH??? Because he said I SUPPOSEDLY have the beginnings of cataracts they are going to charge both my vision insurance AND MY MEDICAL INSURANCE (and charge me a co-pay). This is complete and total INSURANCE FRAUD!!! I hope it's worth it to them to lose a patient, because I WON'T be back.

Vision Surgery and Laser Center - Good place to have vision surgery

I had been diagnosed before Covid with a cataract starting in my right eye. I researched and found…read morea doctor in Roseburg but he was no longer here but he recommended Dr. Andrea Gray. I met with Dr. Gray and confirmed there was only a problem in my right eye. She gave me a chance to try glasses for the left eye only and keep the cataract as it was good close up and the other would be for distance. I had trouble adjusting to two different visions so we set up an appointment for surgery at the Vision Surgery and Laser Center. Someone called me to do a pre check-in. It was quick and easy. They sent texts to confirm my appointment and sent instructions for the day of the surgery. I arrived the day of the surgery with all my necessary items was greeted and check in was fast. I felt comfortable in the office. I was called back and was given a big comfy recliner with a warm blanket to rest before surgery. The nurse was nice and explained everything that would happen and how I may feel during surgery. They put a line in your arm so they can give you a 'twilight' anesthesia. The nurse had worked in the Operating Room fir 32 years so I knew she was capable of whatever was needed. Dr. Gray came in to be sure I was ok and ready. They took me to surgery and the next I know I was in recovery. I didn't remember anything about the surgery. The center is run extremely well with top notch support and medical staff. They cover everything to make you feel at ease with the surgery. The place is clean and, yet, warm and comfortable. A 5/5 is not enough for what they do from check-in through check-out!!

    Sears Optical

    Sears Optical

GAH! My worst…read morecustomer experience ever. I'm not sure why I'm bothering to write a review about the Sears Optical in the Roseburg mall since I doubt that there are many yelpers in the Roseburg area. Still, I must vent. My first visit was not so bad. Everyone was nice (of course in retrospect, they always are when they're trying to sell you something), I picked out a pair of glasses and was given a two-week turnaround time. I upgraded to an ultra-thin lens (better than poly-carb) and roll/polish. Two weeks roll by and I get a phone call saying my glasses aren't ready, they'll call me when they are. Another week goes by. I call and leave a message and no one gets back to me. Same goes for the next day. Finally I swing by to personally inquire and am given this nonchalant attitude of "oh yeah they were rolled but not polished so we sent them back." No apology given at the length of time spent waiting for my glasses, or for the fact that my messages were received but no one got back to me. A week later and my glasses finally come in. I get their phone call twenty minutes before the optical center closes so I hustle over there to get them. It was the same woman who sold me my glasses, except the flip side of her. She was clearly in a hurry to close up for the day, rushed me through the process of making sure they fit, and when I asked her if I could have a wiping cloth she said, and I quote, "You are lucky to even get a hard case." (What does this mean? Most people get them in an old sock? I payed over $250 for glasses and I don't even get a cloth??) And I'm sorry folks, the saga doesn't end there. Take them home and look over them carefully, and my frames were warped. One side looked like the top and bottom had been melted to fit the lens. Plus I had a hard time believing they were the more expensive high-index plastic, since the lenses were much thicker than my previous pair, same frame style, same prescription. Roll and polish was a crap job. I returned them. At least THAT was easy. My sister-in-law had her glasses made there around the same time and hers came back in ten days, with a hard case AND a cloth. Granted, they were the wrong frames from what she ordered. The woman said, "Oh well I guess we got them a number off when we wrote your order down." Once again, no apology. There aren't many opticians in Roseburg, and though Sears may seems like a good value it isn't worth the hassle of spending five weeks feeling aggravated over waiting and really shitty customer service. I got my glasses made online instead. Fin.
