The receptionist assured me that it would all be covered by my insurance. After the exam which took five minutes (it was not extensive)I was given a choice of frames. THe ones I liked were $280 over my insurance, and they showed me the affordable ones. They were small and flimsy, not durable, but they were all they had to offer, so I agreed. Several days later they told me that it would cost forty bucks over the insurance for me to get the "free" frames. I don't have it, so I have no glasses. I should have gone to Optical Palace, also in Irvington, where there is also a good doctor and the frames are also not great, but better than here, and they don't lie to you or cheat you at Optical Palace. Nuff said.

Helps select the perfect frames , makes you feel at ease, professionalism beyond words!! She is a definite asset to the practice. She is excellent at what she does. I have seen Dr Ruth Salkin, on my past 2 office visits ( eye exam and dilation) and she is a kind and knowledgeable MD. My son and I are very pleased with her. The only take away, is the long wait. I was there over 2 hours today.

For starters, to make an appointment It takes them wanting to take you as a patient. Also, if you are a union member, be very careful with giving them the voucher,As they don't know, the policies of how to Properly enforce them. as a side note, they say they have to have you have a "mandatory"retina scan for an additional $50 that is their upsell says the doctor won't see you without it, which brings me to the next topic. There is no physical doctor in this location. It's all via the comfort of her own home via video. Any questions that you have afterwards? The receptionist has to text a doctor and have to wait for a response. Another note once you are picking out glasses,Although the selection is not new, they do have a lot NONE have prices on it. So if you have a question about 12 classes, she has to send pictures to the doctor and wait to get a response back on the prices. We went on the saturday, which they are supposed to open at ten in the morning and waited for the girl to arrive in front of the location until about ten twenty six when she finally showed up. When these things were brought up to the attention of *EMILY* the office administrator instead of taking a with a grain of salt, she stated that she does not want to deal with us as clients because she did not appreciate the constructive criticism, which in all businesses, is imperative for growth. Do. Not. Go. Here…read more Had a Groupon like everyone else here. I knew something was wrong with my prescription when I got my glasses. Went to my annual check up at my eye doctor. Turns out the glasses I purchased from here weren't even the correct ones. I have an astigmatism in one eye and one of the lenses should have been catered to that. Nope. I didn't have insurance at the time, so I had to do what I had to do. Never again. Buyer beware.

You see them post on Groupon a lot trying to get clients in...it's a scam, you'll end up spending so much here!! There are no "deals or specials" here like at VISION WORKS in Union (where I usually went). They exam was fine, normal routine....BUT then I noticed that my eyes had gotten significantly worse this time around when he read me my script (I'll get to that in a sec). When I was done I got surprised with the hefty bill at this place, they charge $300 for a pair of frames that are $60 at vision works (not to mention that vision works gives buy1 get1). Umm.... well alright. I got the anti glare put on my glasses which was an additional $60 I believe. When my glasses came in they did NOT have the anti glare, I had to argue and nag for weeks to get a refund on that. I guess they think that people don't check. Then on top of all that I started suffering headaches for about two years, not knowing why. I even had an MRI....Well guess what it turned out to be when I got my eyes checked again at my normal eye dr. MY SCRIPT WAS TOO HIGH and thats what caused my headaches for two years.... UGH NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!

Updated review. Unfortunately, going from 3 stars to 2 is…read moreworth the rating. The best thing about this dispensary is its convenience and their staff (security?) that greets you upon entering the front door. Aside from that, I'd say be very very cautious. They like to hurry you along, no courtesy or respect if you'd prefer to browse or ask questions, and even worse, they do NOT inform you about otherwise "hidden" fees after purchasing products. They don't share anything in advance. You either know already or you'll find out after the fact. Horrible! I'd recommend you use cash only. It's the safest bet! Otherwise, be aware that they do not accept credit cards, only debit. And keep in mind that for using your debit card there will be an additional $3.50 surcharge (and possible a fee from your bank, depending on who you bank with). The Apothecarium's system will process your transaction as an 'unauthorized' atm purchase/withdrawal. There are other dispensaries all around if you're into it, so this is not the only space. If you do go here, proceed with caution and at your own risk. Twice within the past few years was enough for me! That second chance was the last. Tiny parking lot with minimal spaces on the side of the building. It's easy to miss so look closely or you'll bypass it.
