I rarely leave negative reviews, but I felt this experience was important to share…read more My first visit mostly involved intake with the physical therapist and a short treatment on my hand, which seemed fine. During my second visit: * I only saw the PT briefly before being directed to a young assistant who was not a physical therapist. * The treatment room was extremely cramped with essentially no privacy between patients. * While using ultrasound on my finger joint, the assistant became distracted in a side conversation with another staff member. * The ultrasound wand was repeatedly left sitting in one place instead of being kept moving. * This caused a burning sensation in the joint. I understand ultrasound is normally kept moving during treatment, which is why this concerned me. * I moved the wand several times myself until I eventually asked her to stop as the discomfort was increasing. * I was also instructed to perform one of the exercises incorrectly. When I mentioned the ultrasound issue to the PT on my way out, the concern did not appear to be taken seriously. When I later called to cancel my remaining appointments, I had to leave multiple voicemails during business hours and received no call back. After four attempts I finally reached the receptionist. Overall, in my experience this did not reflect the level of patient attention or professionalism I expect from a physical therapy clinic. I'm sharing this feedback in hopes it helps improve patient care going forward. I have since switched to AG Physical Therapy, where experienced therapists provide focused, professional care.

This is a no nonsense type of physical therapy. If you're looking for something that's fancy, this is not it. This is a physical therapy, that works at getting you back to your optimum health. My introduction to the front office was not good at all. I spoke with Jeremy in that regard and let him know exactly how I felt about the greeting I received from the lady in the front. She's had a lot against her but she is determined to get the most out of treatments. They are very organized with scheduling therapies and their therapists are top notch! They are extremely knowledgeable, caring and truly want the best for their patients. Gavin, her physical therapist, is kind, patient as well as making sure he is getting the most out of every treatment. He is an asset to this rehab. He is also very encouraging. Melody is a miracle worker. She takes a personal interest in her patients and does everything possible to help them improve. She is phenomenal. This place really failed me. They helped and for that I'm appreciative but it was being discharged…read morewhere they showed their true colors. I asked "when am I getting discharged" because everyone around me was, and everyday it was something new. They never asked just assumed that did decisions based on stupidity. I don't know how asking equates that i want to be discharged. I mean getting woken up by a needle drawing blood at 7am is not ideal especially after a stroke. They can explain things. I got discharged with the promise of help and to go somewhere afterwards. That's when the hell really happened. I received no help, fought to go elsewhere, I even got dropped once by a nurse, but even then the nurses would make you feel bad talking about "I have to do so much paperwork", there were some cool nurses but there was some who constantly talked about their issues like get some help and therapy. Upon getting discharged I was lied, left in the dark, let down by this system and hospital. I can forgive for my sanity but I'll never forget. I'm beyond angry at this place, I'm hurt & talking about my treatment here I not only let it out, but I warn others and hope that things place changes and stops lying to their patients and their families.

May have been partly due to Dr. approval was not ordered as "urgent", but who knows if it would have made a difference. Ended up getting assessed at home & treated there with a different provider. It was ideal. Have visited physical therapy places in other towns, cities, & don't believe in comparing but have had some good experiences in the past that outshined this experience due long wait to be seen.

When I arrived for my appt upstairs, Dezeray, the scheduler, and Jean, the senior volunteer, kindly greeting me at the patient window, all the way through to the end of the appointment, this was the BEST women's breast health care appointment I have ever had. My sister died of breast cancer this year, and the process of scheduling radiology appointments, from diagnostic mammograms, sonograms, CTs, biopsies, and surgeries was a nightmare at UCLA Health in SLO and their providers. Getting the results of all of her tests, getting doctors to communicate with radiologists, online portals, labs, etc, in a timely manner so that she could get lifesaving treatment was incredibly stressful, frustrating, and infuriating at UCLA Cancer Center in San Luis Obispo. I've been so traumatized from the memories of my sister's horrific experience at UCLA... she was a quiet patient... wanting to be nice and not make waves with doctors and staff... her doctors there were always one step behind with her treatment options... She died as a direct result of a doctors there telling her that her breast cancer was small, and "nothing to worry about" and advised her to "delay treatment and go ahead and plan Thanksgiving and Christmas with family and friends because these kinds of cancers are cured every day." If someone has an aggressive cancer, they don't have that kind of time! She certainly did not. My husband and I each tried to make a diagnostic appt for a mammogram/sonogram at SLO Diagnostic in San Luis Obispo, and we were both told it would be the end of March before there was a date open. They also made it clear that they would only schedule the appointment for the mammogram after they had the hard records of my mammograms at another places in the past 5 years... in hand (on a physical CD!!!) even though they had done a sonogram of me there only 2 years ago. They told us that unless I or my doctors did the work of calling two other providers, and gathering any records I might have from anywhere I went in the last 5 years, they wouldn't even begin the scheduling process for appointments 3 months from now! They told me to call back when I had everything in hand. Then I called Mission Hope. The caring woman who answered the phone, told me that she would initiate a records transfer for me right away. She said she would call all of the other providers herself and get them sent over! She then went ahead and made me an appointment... in 1 week not 12 weeks!!! This also meant the scans would be done at Mission Hope before the end of the year, so that my copay was satisfied and I had to pay $850 LESS out of pocket! Even better was what happened when I went into their state of the art imaging center in Santa Maria. They took me in right away, and a woman helped me understand the mammogram machine. It was snug but did not hurt me when she tightened it. I could tell the tech hand tightened it and didn't let the computer squash me like some techs do. After that appt, I had a sonogram because I was having a bit of pain on one side. Wendy was the sonographer and she was amazing. She got that I was a bit stressed about this breast pain 2 days before Christmas, so she had me wait in her room while she and the Radiologist went over and read all of the reports. What a relief! I can't imagine if I had gone with any of the imaging centers I had called in slo county. I would be worried about possibly having breast cancer for the next 3 months... all the way through Christmas and New Years... all the way to March or much later before I would have any results in hand... if then because most places have terrible online records systems that take even more months to be updated. What kind of toll does that take on a patient's mind? The Mission Hope Cancer Center Team is the only team I will trust with my breast care from now on. It is obvious this is a women run, professionally and compassionately based medical practice that cares about its patient care first. The people are very friendly and the nurses and nurses aids and food service all seem very responsive. They are taking wonderful care of my mom. I actually feel peace knowing that she's in such a great place. And believe me I'm just as surprised as you to hear me say this because most facilities are just horrid nightmares. If your loved one is going to this skilled nursing facility, rest assured they will be in good hands.

A worker here slammed the door in my face while I was asking for assistance to eat because she didn't like my tone, it's difficult to get medical attention here because I'm the only patient that can see and speak to them, they don't like that.
