Can I give zero stars, please?
When I moved into my house I found the well equipment was installed by Valley, as their name was on the equipment. I called them to get some basic information about my system, like the depth of the well, age of the equipment, size of pump, GPM of the well. Basic stuff that a homeowner needs to know.
They asked me for the name of the developer, for a house that was built in 1973. Naturally, since I am maybe the 3rd or 4th owner, I have no idea who built it, and no way to find out.
They couldn't help me. The nice lady explained that they file all their installation work under the developer's name. I asked if they could just look up the address. The women seemed puzzled by this, and asked, "Why would we do that???" I tried to explain why a person might not know the developer's name, and why an address was a better filing method, since that is a fairly permanent identifier of a property, and wells don't generally move from place to place. My explanation made no sense to her.
So, no information for me!
But it gets worse. The wiring was NOT adequate for the installation. They ran standard 14 /2 UF-B direct burial wire. For the distance, it should have been 10 gauge. And for those who don't speak electrical work, not only is it too small, but it's the wrong kind of wire. This is a 240v pump, and should have been fed by 10/3 which has the required red and black wire. They have the 240 running on black and white, with no markings to indicate the non-standard color. This is a HUGE safety problem. White should be neutral, but they have 120 on it.
This is the worst of it, but generally, the workmanship is very, very poor in every respect.
I would not do business with them under any circumstances I can imagine. read more
