Sadly, this was probably the most mediocre meal we had while in Spain. We visited on the recommendation of a friend, who said that the food was better here than it would be on Mt. Tibidabo, which may be true, but it still wasn't great.
The service was great, we had a very nice server who helped translate the menu from Catalan for us. It's clear this is not a touristy place, this is where people come after playing tennis at the attached tennis club. They had a set three-course meal of the day, so four of us ordered from that. I had the pasta to start, which was not terrible, and then the salmon, which was not that good. My boyfriend also started with the pasta, which he agreed was pretty decent, and then the hamburger, which came without a bun and with pretty meh french fries. Other dishes ordered by our party included the steamed vegetables, which were odd and mushy, and the chicken, which was just okay. Nothing was disgusting, but nothing made us say "Yum!"
My sister, a vegetarian, was unable to order anything off of the three-course menu, so ordered a la carte and got a salad and the patatas bravas. The patatas bravas were drenched in sauce, to the point where she didn't want to finish them. The salad was okay, not great.
For dessert, we tried the chocolate cake (which wasn't very chocolatey) and the Creme Catalan, which is like Creme Brûlée without the brûlée part. Probably the highlight of the meal was my mom's dessert, which was just yogurt with honey.
Overall, not a great meal. Nice people, incredibly gorgeous view since it's up on a mountain, but not stellar food. The bathrooms, however, were beautiful. read more
