We only stopped here for snacks, something to drink and some Tylenol on our way home from Vegas. It was late, maybe 10:30pm. As we got up to the cashier he said,"Store is close! Leave your stuff in the counter and leave!" He kept repeating they were closed and to just leave everything on the counter. He grabbed chains for the door and threw everyone who was still shopping out. When we 1st walked in, there were lots of customers in line paying so not sure what happened. read more

With the amount of people that stop here, and that there isn't a ton of people to pull from for employment (meaning they just can't add employees to clean up all the time), this place does a good job. It is your typical high volume truck/gas stop. There are others in Baker, but this is the newest and you can tell. The people who work here aren't the most friendly, but they do their job. I do agree with others to not fill up your tank here as it's at least $1 more per gallon if not more. Maybe fill up enough to get to Barstow, then fill up there. It's all up to you, just be prepared. read more

Looked for ice in the other gas stations and it was sold out everywhere except, for this Valero woo hoo you saved us. Cashier Guy was very nice. read more

The vegetables from subway were nasty, I never seen vegetables in a subway so disgusting. I later went to grab a monster. I saw a dark looking ketchup bottle that caught my eye, I went over and looked at it.... it had expired on 9/2/19 and it was 12/7/19. Nasty place and the old lady in the counter had a nasty attitude herself... read more

My first gas stop from SoCal to vegas, piss, shit, coffee, gas, check the oil, souvenirs, hot as fck here... that's why it's called BAKER. Always expect to pay more for gas in these strips, that's normal. Only off the grid places would gas be cheaper. look forward to this place day or night. Everything i need to get to the gamblers holyland. I likes this place! read more

There isn't anything particularly special about this pit stop, but it's one of my preferred places to stop on the way to and from Vegas and SoCal. The gas prices here, and everywhere in Baker, are higher than Vegas or bigger California cities, but that's just how Baker is. Inside you have restrooms and a decent-sized convenience store. There are also a few food places, like Subway and Pizza Hut, which offer ample choices to the hungry traveler. There is a massive soda machine with one of the largest selections I've seen in a convenience store. It can get pretty busy here on Friday nights and Sunday afternoons. read more

Valero - Massive soda machine. - Gas Stations Near Me - Baker, California

If I could give minus stars, I would. This particular yelp goes to the employee, Jose, who was working the night shift at 9:45 on Friday, August 14th. He was rude, he was condescending and he seemed to enjoy taunting my daughter and humiliating her when she needed to buy feminine products. He charged us for items we didn't even buy and when I came in and asked for my money back, he refused. When I told him I had been a customer at this particular gas station for years and that I would be contacting the corporate office and asked for his name he told me to get out and he could care less if I ever came back. I have no problem using a different gas station in baker or even just skipping Baker all together. read more

Good place for a quick pit stop. Gas station is large and spacious. There's always plenty of stalls open. They have small restaurants inside to grab some food. They have a convenience store so you can buy snacks and drinks. They have large bathrooms. The place is old and kind of smelly inside, but it's really not that bad. And I didn't even bother looking at the gas prices. Just quick in and out. read more

Do not come here. Overpriced everything Red Bull's are 4.99 and don't give me "what do you expect?" It's on the middle of nowhere you can get cheaper energy drink at Eddies world. but the bathrooms are halfway decent, but for a better pit stop. Try the one down the road by the stop lights closer to the Vegas side. Baker travel plaza they have a tire place in the back and great service and their stuff not as expensive. read more

This gas station is considerably more expensive than other stations in cities before or after it. The owners are clearly capitalizing on all the business Baker gets from travel-weary people headed to or from Las Vegas. The prices are at least $0.50 to $0.60 per gallon higher than averagely-priced gas stations in other cities. Sure, Valero might be one of the cheaper options in Baker, but that's not saying much. Stop here only to visit the adjacent Grewal Travel Center for their restroom facilities, convenience store and wide variety of fast food options. read more

Good place to get some gasoline. I believe there are actually two Valero gas stations in Baker, and they are located very close to each other. One Valero Station has a couple of fast food places attached to it's mini mart. The other Valero does not have any fast food places. I'm not sure which Valero this one is. Still, Valero has good gasoline and I would not hesitate to fill up at one of their stations if need be. read more

The rudest store clerk ever..... I'll maintained and you have to ask permission to get a cup to buy a fountain drink.... Really?

It is very convenient that this place has a large selection for a tyipical gas station. A plus is that there are a lot of restroom stalls and the restrooms are clean. Pretty good place to stop along the way. read more

Don't get gas here. Too expensive. Pee here if you must, it's packed but clean enough. Eat here if you're hungry, but beware, there are dozens of children and other humans hot, hungry, hungover and just wanting to get where they're going. And with slow service, that doesn't always mix well. Beware of the nomads outside, they stray around the cars, and I'm not sure if they are actually panhandlers, or just looking for an unlocked door. read more

I like this place. This is the first time I've been here and it wont be my last but only to buy snacks and food & not for gas. The bf was craving pizza hut so we stopped by. Its pretty cool in here. Theres a subway, pizza hut, a & w, & a frozen yogurt place all inside a convenience store. The individual pizza with a medium drink is $6ish & a hot dog at a & w is $2.15. . . I have to say that the restrooms can be cleaner but its ok cuz its not a deal breaker lol . . . read more

Wasn't offered a drink and when asked were unresponsive. Great place to stop either way!

My daughter and I ran off to stretch our legs while hubby tended to the gas. Thought it was taking a long time but we were having fun running doughnuts in the gravel. Over 10 minutes later I saw him finally drive away from the pump and park. We went back over to use the restroom. Wasn't terrible but soap dispenser didn't work and the doors wouldn't lock. Came out to an irritated husband who apparently had been trying to ask the cashier why the pump was so slow but she couldn't understand him. After 10 minutes at the pump he had only managed to get 1.5 gallons. And the latch that holds the handle down was broken so he had to stand there holding it the whole time. Super irritating. So we went over to Chevron to finish getting gas. read more

Jersey Mikes subs! The girl that made my sandwich BEAT SUB EVER !! I don't eat fast food so when starving in Baker a sandwich place seemed healthiest option. I didn't expect much but a young girl helped me. Not overly friendly but did her job. Amazing sandwich and weird but I actually find myself craving it again. So I'll be back... LOL for a Jersey Mike's cheese sub. read more

We always stop here to and from Vegas. Nice clean restrooms, great food selection, snacks, and friendly staff.

Staff was very rude, helped people who were behind us in line. Then they acted like we were rude because we weren't happy about it. Also restrooms were very dirty and pumps were out of order. Choose a different location if you have to stop. read more

Poor service. Staff of little help. Bathrooms not maintained well. MOST OF ALL DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT go there to use the air for tires or the water to service your vehicle. It does not work and you will waste your $1.50 !!!! read more

Where is the -star?!! 1 star is too generous!!! This place is a joke now!!! I travel thru here every 3 months. My stop between here and Mommas house. It's 6:00am. Nobody in the store, just the cashier. He's awful!!! Snorting, coughing, yawning!!! I used to come here and hear the Spanish music blasting, preparing me for the next 200 mile drive. I will never step foot in here again!!! Bring back the old crew!!! read more
