You come to an intersection and see Valero on one corner with Regular $3.73 or Cheveron on the opposite corner for $3.79... what do you do? Well, in this economy, you go to the cheaper station (or at least I do cause I'm a cheap bastard). Pull up to the pump, swipe debit card, insert nozzel into car, go to push grade button and $3.79 a gallon???? "Ummm NO!" I went inside and asked the woman behind the counter why their sign was not in agreement with the pump and she rudely proclaims "There are TWO signs and $3.73 is for CASH ONLY! The other sign says the credit price." Well I'll have you know that there is NO other sign! I stated that Debit is treated the same as cash at other stations and I am verbally smacked down again by this 'clearly loves her job' individual with "NO, we still have to pay a fee for Debit so unless you want to pay cash in here, you pay the credit price."
Needless to say I was not pleased with the more expensive price or her attitude.
This is not the first time that I have encountered crummy service at this stations (including being asked to see my ID when I'm using my debit card with my pin and being refused because I didn't want to go out to my car and get my ID... who does that), but I can say that this will be the last time I give them my business. read more
