He took over an hour to measure everything and sent me the lumber quote he received so that I was fully informed, then we talked labor. He would point out problematic areas (like rotting framing) and would ask me if I wanted to have it replaced rather than just covering it up with the new surface. He did an amazing job that had my mom's tenants and the neighbors complementing the work and I felt the price was very reasonable. Based on that job, I brought him out to take a look at my townhouse to possibly replace the siding and he suggested sanding, priming and painting instead due to the price of replacement. They sanded almost every square inch of it, primed it (in some areas twice) with a peeling paint primer that is like glue to fill in gaps and keep the rest of the old paint from peeling, and then put a double coat over everything. When they finished, I was surprised to find that they had power washed our patio, porch, and front half-height fence and even painted the fence though we never talked about doing any of that work. His guys even found a way to reused some of the removed boards to fix some spots in a way that really hid the repairs. His communication was good and timely. I would definitely use him again.

We found them to be a low quality company with poor sales and customer service.

There are control joints in place are where it is hoped that the inevitable cracks will happen, unfortunately the cracks in our driveway occurred outside of the control joints. The owner of Salzano's came out to see the cracks and treated them with a product that will hopefully keep them from getting more noticeable. The previous asphalt driveway was probably not even aesthetically pleasing when brand new. The concrete and brick edging from Salzano's is a tremendous improvement still after four years. I just wished the concrete and Mother Nature worked together to have the cracks happen inside the control joints.

Their quote was about $700 less than others, which was a good deal compared to other estimates. While there were some frustrating aspects--mainly around communication and scheduling--the owners reached out directly after I shared my concerns and made a genuine effort to resolve the issues. That follow-up and willingness to take accountability really made a difference. During the project there were unexpected delays, and communication was spotty at times. It often took multiple follow-ups to get updates, and the work progressed in short bursts, sometimes without notice. What was originally estimated as a 2.5-day project ended up taking around 2-3 weeks. Despite these issues, the overall workmanship turned out to be solid. and the finished patio and steps looks good and are functional. Ultimately, while the process was more stressful than anticipated, I appreciated the owner's responsiveness and effort to make things right. The end result was good for the price, but there's room for improvement in communication.
