Great little cafe right on the main drag. The owner is her own barista and makes excellent coffee drinks. I had a med iced salted caramel mocha and it was the best coffee drinks I have ever had, excellent. The breakfast sandwiches were homemade and delicious. We visited this coffee shop just about every morning while we vacationed at Conneaut Lake. Truly a treasure. read more

Can't trust a place that serves more than one size cortado, none of which are 6oz. Good place. They don't actually know how to make espresso drinks though. They literally do not know the difference between a macchiato, a cortado, a cappuccino, and a latte. They do not make foam or steamed milk correctly. The foam has huge lacey bubbles rather than a fine creamy texture. read more

This place was super cute and roomy inside. I love the atmosphere and could totally see myself coming here for coffee or to work. They have a pretty extensive coffee and tea menu actually. I checked to see what chai they use, and they're using Oregon, which is not my fave (too sweet). Their food menu is limited and I was shocked to hear they had gluten free bread. That was super excited to hear and order their turkey and artichoke panini. But then a bummer to get the news that they pre-make their panini's. I'm sure there's a reason they do that, but it was disappointing. She said she could make a breakfast sandwich, but I really wanted a lunch item. So I asked if she could make a turkey sandwich and she said yes. I kind of assumed it would be the same as the turkey and artichoke, or a regular turkey sandwich with cheese, tomato, lettuce and mayo. I literally got bread and turkey. There was clearly some miscommunication. I'd think if you're offering gluten free bread, you'd want to do your best to make it as awesome as the rest of your sandwiches. I would go in again, but communicate better when ordering food. read more

Just so happened to be in town visiting friends and after a long night of "fun" we all woke up hungry and headed to Vacavi Cafe. Such a lovely little place to visit! Child friendly, fast WiFi, friendly service and yummy items all over! Muffin was fantastic and the chia tea was to die for!!!! This is the perfect place to come to get work done on the weekends. Space is limited, so you will want to get there a little earlier to get a nice spot. Not to mention, the view is beautiful because it's right next to the lake! I've tried their teas and lattes and they're always delicious. I recommend trying an iced tea and adding boba to it (if you enjoy bubble tea). They have some unique boba flavors that I have really enjoyed. They have great food options as well if you get hungry. I always get their breakfast sandwiches, but they have lunch items too that I've been really wanting to try. There's not a huge list of food by any means, but there's way better options than you'd find at Starbucks. Definitely give this place a try! I think it's one of the best coffee shops in the area. read more

Cappuccino was tasty, but for sitting inside with breakfast a to-go cup was disappointing. Also the to-go cups offered stick to your bottom lip while drinking - so strange and gross. Burrito wrap was ok, but not much flavor and the potatoes were not cooked through. Staff was friendly. read more

Really charming spot. Got a window seat with a view of the lake and a breeze through the screen. Very friendly staff and locals - everyone offered to help me navigate carrying my coffee with crutches. We stopped on our way from Pittsburgh to Niagra on the Lake, and would definitely do so again. read more

Great little space with a warm, comfortable aesthetic, looks out on the lake. The food is pretty good and the coffee is locally brewed, which is a plus. I go there often because it's the only coffee shop like it in the area, even though it's pretty far from where I live. I wish the service were better though. If the owner isn't there, the baristas seem distracted and inattentive. I've stood at the counter five minutes or so without so much as eye contact from anybody. If things were better organized, and if they extended operating hours past 2pm (3pm on Saturdays), this place would totally be a 5 star experience for me. read more

First, love the interior and that they preserved the Foulk Bakery sign. Beautiful space, great views of the lake. Lots of friendly people working there, but don't quite have the hand of it yet. Coffee is self-serve, but they were out of all the coffee, and did not seem concerned when I alerted them to this. They only replaced the house blend, and not the bold, which is what I wanted. Were confused about what scones I ordered. I'll definitely support them when I am up at the cottage, and trust they will work the kinks out over time. read more

Absolutely adore this little coffee shop! The interior is quirky an very cute, plus the location is beautiful/ right next to the lake. The baked good are in house made and really quite delicious. Have not tried any of the lunch/breakfast items but from a friend's opinion they are pretty great. There is a wide variety of drink options at reasonable prices and with great flavor. I love this place and drive there each time I'm in nearby Meadville. They serve Happy Mug coffee (roasted in nearby Edinboro) and I can always depend on a great tasting mug of coffee. Their pastries are worth busting any diet you may be following. E]I especially like the sea salt chocolate chip cookies. I usually enjoy a breakfast bagel sandwich alongside a mug of coffee. Then take a cookie to go! It's a perfect place to sit with a good book and sip your coffee while looking out at the lake. I've noticed many students there studying during the school year. The decor is quirky without being so edgy that it's unsettling. Last visit I knew I wouldn't be back until another school year so bought beans to take with me. Fantastic coffee shop in small town USA. This shop puts those franchise shops to shame. We enjoyed iced lattes while snacking on as strawberry shortcake between two crossiants. Pleasantly stumbled upon because Tim Hortons service was horrible. Kudos to this shop. Will be back. read more

I very much want this place to succeed. It's a great representation of the coming improvements to downtown conneaut lake, and certainly better than just another Starbucks, right? The interior is charming and the menu chock full of standard coffee house fare. But sadly, on two separate visits, our drinks were undrinkable, and on one got a sarcastic response when we politely asked for a new drink that wasn't 80% sugar. I hope they figure out the delicate balance needed for a delicious caffeinated beverage. I will continue leaving my out of state money here when we are visiting the lake house, even if I have to run to sheetz to get a better coffee. Decor is very nice. Loved the idea with the different chairs. I ordered the Vacavi Club which is turkey, bacon, lettuce, and a pepper cream cheese. It was served on a almost frozen sesame sead bagel on the side was a small salad with an interesting (not good) dressing. It was something I could make at home much better. I also ordered a iced caramel latte that was just all right. My total was $13.25 (outrageous)! I would love to support small business especially in my hometown, but it just was awful. read more

A lovely destination! Lots of yummy looking baked goods. I had a simple brewed vanilla flavored coffee and it was fresh and delicious. My daughter had a banana/strawberry smoothie that was made from a mix, not fresh fruit. That took the specialness of the place down a bit for me, so no 4 starts. But, the menu is diverse. I didn't have chance to try the food, unfortunately. The decor is original and cozy. The vibe is relaxed. I can't think of a reason not to give it a try if you're in the area. There is also a diner next door with a great-looking menu and a resale shop across the street. Around the corner is a library that looks creative and well-cared for. One could spend some time checking out the shops as a way to relax by the lake. read more

I love Vacavi! Their coffee is incredible. It doesn't matter if you get black coffee or a sugary drink, it's really good. Their breakfast sandwiches (which they serve until close) are the best we've ever had. Most of their food is fantastic. And the atmosphere is prefect. The decor is great. It's what you want in a friendly, welcoming, non pretentious coffee house. And you have the most wonderful view of the lake. The only other place you'll get a view of Conneaut Lake when eating is at Silver Shores. It's a good place to sit down for a meal, grab a drink, baked good, or sandwich to go, or just take in the beautiful view and atmosphere of Conneaut Lake. Since moving to town we stop here often. This is where we always bring out of town guests for lunch. My dad, who lives out of state, always requests it and loves the local Happy Mug coffee and wraps and our family from England loved it when they visited. The only down side is the hours. Call to check when they're open as the hours change with the season. It seems like they stay open later during tourist season, but don't let that stop you from trying to visit in the winter. The lake view in the winter is just as good and winter drink and food specials are great. read more

The best latte I've had in NW PA -- appropriately sized (I'm looking at you, evil chain coffee shop with lattes as big as my head) and carefully crafted from local roaster Happy Mug. Bonus for serving it in a ceramic mug. A peaceful, surprisingly hip space with nice views of the lake. Great place to spend the morning reading and caffeine loading. I haven't tried the food and they lost one star for having not having any meat-free breakfast sandwiches. The scone was nothing to write home about, but I'll definitely be back for the coffee. read more
