We just stayed at the Marriott Timber Lodge in South Lake Tahoe for our fourth year in a row. Since we book using Vacations Simplified we are always treated like owners. We worked with Vacations Simplified to book threer units at the Desert Springs Villas in Palm Desert. The three units were to accomodate us and our married children. As our children have young children of their own, we asked that the units be close together and close to the properties facilities (pools, playground). The units were close, were very clean, and had all the conveniences we needed. We have used Vacations Simplified before and will use them again. read more

I tried to book a condo through Booking.com and somehow ended up with Vacations Simplified. I wanted a 2 bedroom condo in Pagoso Springs Co. specifically on the Wyndham Pagosa property. I found a listing for a 2 bedroom unit which was described as a beautiful hotel and also described as an apartment. I am very familiar with the Wyndham properties and could tell that the photos associated with the listing did not match the description. I booked the reservation as it allowed free cancellation up to a few days before traveling in July. I asked during the reservation process for specific information about the unit and the location. I did not receive a response to my question. A few days later I received a text and email informing me that my payment could not be processed and to update my payment info at HomeAway/VRBO/AIRBNB /BOOKING.COM. I found this to be confusing and suspicious. I called the support number and once I finally was able to get past the AI bot, the person I spoke with said they would pass on my information and someone would get back to me. I continued to receive requests for payment but not an answer to my question. The next day I received a cancellation notice due to lack of payment. I called again and once I got past the AI bot, the person I spoke with said they would pass on my information and get back to me. I received a text the following day and was asked how they could help me. I explained the situation and they investigated and told me that my reservation was cancelled. I acknowledged that my reservation was cancelled and explained that I was waiting for an update on the location of the unit before financially committing to the reservation. They stopped communicating. I think I dodged a bullet. I booked a great unit directly through Airbnb. read more

So far my rating is barely a one star. We booked a property 9 days in advance, which does not fall within their cancellation policy. We are preaching their cancellation policy of 14 days, but we only booked within 7 days. Our plans got cancelled due to NJ's state of emergency with the snow yesterday. We called to cancel. I I booked a mini-vacation at a Marriott in Palm Desert through Hotels.com, only to discover AFTER paying (nonrefundable) that the booking was not with Marriott itself, but through VRBO and Vacations Simplified. The property we booked was misrepresented on Hotels.com website where we booked it. We thought it was a Marriott booking, evidently it was a Vacations Simplified property (but a Marriott timeshare) however, was NOT listed as such on Hotels.com's website. The unit was to be a one bedroom apartment, but it was a regular hotel room. No kitchen as described, just a bar with micro and mini-fridge; no queen sofa bed, but a SMALL double size pullout bed, where the mattress was WET! When you opened pullout, bed obstructed access to the balcony. The room is meant for two, not four persons. Unit was near a dumpster and porta potties. We wanted to upgrade or move to different property, and were willing to pay more, but Marriott could not help, only if we made another booking with them directly (meaning a double booking). Hotels.com would not help, they referred us to VRBO, who then kicked the phone call to Vacations Simplified, management company for this timeshare, which did not return my calls. I made at least 5 calls to Vacations Simplified, with no return call. I sent email and messages on their website. I got 1 email from them apologizing for the problems we encountered, they offered me an "Entertainment" discount coupon booklet which I would have to pay $18 to activate! Talk about insulting. I will be disputing the Marriott charges. Don't work with this company---- your vacation should be stress free, not a nightmare. This company doesn't care about its customers. read more

We stayed at the Marriott Timber Lodge in South Tahoe booked through VRBO and it was a great experience. Excellent value and great accomodations. No issues with check in/out and everything went as planned. We even got free parking, shich we weren't expecting! I would do it again. Maybe next year... read more

The Marriott room and adjoining room in Park City was the perfect space for our quick girls weekend getaway! Right across the street from Park City's Towne Lift, those that went skiing did it with ease and had the best day. And those of us who didn't ski, walked right out to Main Street to all the shops, restaurants, and bars; plus, then went snow shoeing for an amazing hike. Vacations Simplified gave very thorough information as to when and how to check in/out; in addition, they gave tips on how to get an early check in and late check out. This company is running a scam through VRBO and Expedia. After making the reservation for a Fort Lauderdale condo, I bought plane tickets and planned the trip. Days later, they canceled saying that "they hadn't updated their calendar on the site." No apology, no refund, no alternative. But then hours later, the property was relisted for the same available dates for nearly double the price. Even though the cancellation was within 30 days and VRBO will charge them a 50% penalty, I will see none of that and am stuck without a place to stay. VRBO was no help -- the representative said she'd send me alternatives and sent me this same listing, reposted with the new price! Expedia says it's VRBO's responsibility, Expedia says it's VRBO's, and Vacations Simplified itself just doesn't respond. read more

This company is nothing more than a scam. I went to book a vacation on VRBOI , i paid and had a confirmation number. On the day of check in Marriott could hot find my reservation. The confirmation number i received via email was not correct. The front desk said it starts with a 67 or 8 which mine did not and i knew right there it was a third party and i got scammed. I spent 3 hours trying to get a phone number. They emailed me that they canceled my vacation and to take my refund up with vrbo, that they had nothing to do with it. Finally i found these scums, the company name is Home away and the number is 512 684 1100 based out of Texas. founders name is Brain H. Shjarples. I will not even go through vrbo anymore. read more

The Marriott timeshare I booked through this company had no hot water, and they have now given me the run around for 3 weeks about seeking any refund on my stay after I already spent several hours on the phone with different people (incl. VRBO--which was the company Vacations Simplified actually uses . . . which was not disclosed to me before making the reservation) the day I checked out trying to identify someone who could help me. If you call the company, some random receptionist will rush you off the phone, telling you that someone will "call you back" and then they never call you back. DO NOT BOOK **ANYTHING** THROUGH THIS TERRIBLE COMPANY. IT IS A SCAM AND THEY WILL NOT HELP YOU. Vacations Simplified is to be avoided at all costs. I will never book through this company again, nor VRBO. I am planning to spam these jerks all over the internet to warn other potential victims of this company's shoddy and lamentable business practices, and I hope their business fails and goes under. read more
