I'm very disappointed in Vacation Network Inc and Seaside Vacations from the Outer Banks. My reservation is 5/23 - 5/31, 2020. I have tried to postpone this visit because no restaurants, bars or Welcome Centers are open. Dare County opened on May 16, 2020 but only minimally. Seaside Vacations and Vacation Network refuse to work with me. I have a 3000 mile drive to visit Nags Head. It is difficult to justify this drive when the majority of the island catering to tourists is closed. I would have spent a lot more tourist dollars later this summer, fall or next spring had I been given that opportunity. My reservations with Seaside through Vacation Network Inc are very disappointing. I cannot recommend this company to anyone. The previous reviewers are correct. Lots of beautiful places to stay are presented in their slides during the presentation, but these are NEVER available even with 1 year advance planning. After this experience and with increasing frustration of available properties, it will be hard to justify paying my yearly fee this July. read more

Don't ever sign anything with Vacation Network inc. Absolutely horrifying customer service. I have never been so insulted in my life!!!!! My family and I just took a trip through Vacation Network Inc. to Disney World in Florida the week of March 11-18 2017. They secured us a place at the Floridays Resort. While we were at the Resort I noticed one night after we got there that my one sock got wet as I was walking into the master bathroom. At that point I thought there must have been something wet on the bathroom floor but to my dismay I did not find any water on the master bedroom bathroom floor. I moved on. We spent our time at the Walt Disney World parks all day and night. On Monday night around 10pm, after being at the park all day and night, I plugged my cell phone to charge in the master bedroom plug next to the night stand and noticed the carpet was wet from the top of the room next to the night stand all the way down the wall. The bathroom was on the other side of the wall. I pointed it out to my husband. The floor was wet enough to get my sock wet but no puddling noted when u stepped on the wet areas. Previous to our trip we were sent an email form Vacation Network stating if there was anything we needed that we could not contact the front desk of the resort and to contact this special number. Here is the email: Attached, you will find the check in instructions for your upcoming trip. Please read and print the instructions as it contain very important information for your check in. Our emergency phone 1-800-654-4010 is always available during the weekend. Please acknowledge receipt of this confirmation. He was noticed that the business was not open and that they would have to call him back after 9am. He was contacted back and we reported our findings of the shower and the wet floor. Vacation Network had a contractor come to our unoccupied room to check our reported issue. When my husband got a call back he was told no leak was found and that we overflowed the tub. We reported that we never used the tub at all! Then on top of that insult the shower water pressure was never fixed! A service technician was arranged to come out and clean the carpet. Which we were very clear on the phone and I told the technician we never used the tub. After we got ho,e from our vacation my husband saw that the Vacation Network charged us $573.00 for damages, damages we did not cause and as a matter of fact the carpet was cleaned and then it dried so nothing was damaged! My husband and I called and were both told on separate occasions by Ravin that we overflowed the tub because the plumber did not find a leak and suggested that the tub may have been overflown. We explained several times that we did not use the tub and we called as soon as possible after we noticed the problem. Which according to Vacation Network because we did not call the first day we were there that we did it. This is obsurd! One, how can u call something on the first day if you don't know it is there and two, we did not use the tub and lastly why would we call to report the wet floor if we knew it was wet cause we supposably overflowed the tub! Yet somehow they feel as if it is appropriate to say we did it with no proof! I was also told that the number provided was a 24hr number. As u can see from the email, no where does it say it is a 24hr service and when my husband called they told him they were not open and we had to wait for a call back. I was also told by Ravin that there cleaning service would have noticed the wet floor. I explained to her unless the cleaning service is walking around without shoes on or gets on their hands and knees and feels the carpet (everyone knows they don't do either one of them) they would not have found the wet carpet. I also explained to Ravin that it is not standard practice when I go on vacation , and I doubt anyone else, to crawl around and feel every square inch of the floor to find out if it is wet. I was then told that Vacation network was passing along the fees that were incurred to fix the wet floor. The wet floor that we did not cause yet apparently they are saying we are lying. As a company it is their responsibility to maintain the property and not pass that cost to the customer. At no time were we ever notified if a service person was called out to the property that we would be responsible for the cost. This has been the most horrific customer service ever! read more

I joined VNI in 2003. Since joining we used about 4 vacations with them. None of them were ever at the places we requested. Well, that's just it...you cannot request a place. So what you have to do is request certain amenities that you wish to have and make sure the place you would like to stay at only offers those amenities. That is what we were told to do when we signed up with VNI. It NEVER, EVER works out that way. The way it works is you have to book six months in advance and VNI has 45 days to come up with something matching what you requested in the area you requested. It NEVER happens. The excuses are always the same..."You chose a busy time" or "nothing matches your request" or they just select something not even remotely where you requested in the first place. When you write back to them they just ignore you for weeks and then one word answer you. VNI is not cheap either. You pay a fee to join and in my case it was $3500 for 12 vacations. There is a yearly fee of $269. Then, each vacation is about $510 with a $75 insurance fee. I would have no problem paying that if I was getting what i paid for as they advertised. I have NEVER received a request for what i have wanted and always have to settle on what they say they have. I did my part and paid them. I requested six months in advance as they request me to do. Why can't they ever comply with their end of the bargain? What prompted me to write this review was the vacations I requested this year (2014). We requested Aruba in or in close proximity to the strip of hotels. VNI had resorts on the strip as they advertise them. We also wanted a two bedroom unit and in the end after a long search we were forced to settle on a unit with one bedroom and a bed couch. The unit was a 40 minute walk to the strip or a ten minute cab ride which cost us extra money. My back is still killing me. In June we requested a vacation in Vermont in the month of December. Again the full six months and we requested near Killington. I will paste the results of the emails from a VNI rep handling my request. Keep in mind it is long after the 45 days they were supposed to have something for us. Their reply: I am looking for something in Vermont for your dates you are wanting to go New Years week . My reply: (last i promise) I know that Kim, but that is why we put the request in 6 months prior. This is the exact excuse we hear no matter what time of year we look to book a vacation. Please get back to us soon on this. I joined VNI with good intentions and high expectations only to realize that they never, ever deliver on what we the customer wants. Can you imagine the nerve of that person offering me something in Pennsylvania and telling me it's in Vermont? And then the snide replies on the emails. Now I get delayed responses and sometimes no response at all. I just want what i paid for! It is very frustrating. My advice is to stay clear of this company and look elsewhere. The promises made during their presentation of visions of well maintained and varied properties around the world prompted us to pay several thousands to ensure a fun annual vacation each year. I am embarrassed to admit I got sucked into their video of beautiful locations and properties and the high pressure sales. That was 8 years ago...now ask me have I EVER used their services? Not once! Why? Because they appear to NOT have any of these beautiful properties in these beautiful locations. You WILL NOT get what you want, but some story about no availability at you request or some B or worse rates property not even close to your desired vacation request. I was fooled, shame on me...hopefully this warning of these types of deals will deter anyone considering this type of vacation "club" to run away! It is a intangible item that can and has been used to scam vacation hungry folks from their money. Better to have your own savings account where you put a little down each month. I just read Scott S.'s review. I have not even taken my first vacation with VNI and I am so displeased. Same thing happened to me regarding my reservation request. I asked for Zone 3 somewhere near Pennsylvania and West Virginia where I have relatives. They asked if I wanted a place in North Carolina. Do they ever look at a map??? So, finally got us a place in Ocean City, MD. Next, I get a phone call telling me that the unit they selected does not offer linens. WHAT?!? Why would I book a vacation and bring my own linens? I am not Jackie Onassis! (God rest her soul) We leave this Friday, whether we have linens or not. I guess I'll find a Walmart and buy cheap linens to get us by. If it gets any worse, I will be reporting to every business review site I can find as well. read more

We recently attended the presentation for Vacation Network Inc. and became new members. My husband was very skeptical at first and was waiting for the high pressure sales pitch. What we learned at the presentation really fit our lifestyle and there was no pressure. Even better was the service we have received since. The very next day the main office was helping us plan a vacation to Panama City for the following week. Almost every hotel and resort was sold out, but Rachel with reservations found us a 3 bedroom condo for the same price as a 1 bedroom. If you love to travel I would definitely recommend checking them out. read more

They have a business model from the 60's. You have tell them what you want and give them 3 - 6 months to find you a location. It's 6 months during peak season. So, then at some point they might or might not get you a place in the location you requested. With the exception of Orlando, they have never found me anything at all. Good luck finding airfare or planning your trip when you have no idea if you have a place to stay. If they can't find you a place, they are supposed to give you a refund of your booking fee ( you pay every time you want to book ) . Too bad they "forget" to get me my refund EVERY SINGLE time. I have to remind them over and over agian and maybe a year later I finally get it. Of course, they say it never happens, it's just an unfortunate mistake but it happens every single time! This place is a total scam. Don't get sucked in. If you want a timeshare club, find one that is legit and you can access inventory and info from the web instead of working completely from fax/phone/email. read more
