I booked my honeymoon trip to Jamaica with travel agent Karla Bradley of Star Travel. Upon check-in…read moreat the resort, I found out that I was assigned a junior suite with double beds instead of the requested king bed. Being shocked, I immediately asked if a suite with a king sized bed was available and none were at the time. I inquired further as to why was I assigned a double bed suite especially on my honeymoon. I was told by the clerk that my agent made the room request. I immediately reached out to Karla to inquire about the room request and to see if she could help me in anyway. She confirmed that she indeed made the double bed room request. My question to her was why would she make such a request for my honeymoon? She then became argumentative and outright lied by saying the resort does not allow room requests. The front desk said that they do honor room requests at the booking. It didn't take long for me to find out that Karla was dismissive, uncaring, and more concerned about being right instead of trying to help solve my problem. My husband and I had the most uncomfortable sleep on the full sized bed that Karla booked. It is extremely disappointing and frustrating to be in another country and to reach out to your travel agent and to get no assistance. To add insult to injury, the only help Karla provided was to tell us to ask the front desk if another another room was available which was the first thing that we did or what any other sane person would do. I asked Karla who is her supervisor so that I could share my concerns and she told me that she has no supervisor. The fact that she said she has no supervisor is scary because that implies that Star Travel is a company with no checks and balances. This explains her bravado and nonchalant attitude. Therefore, travelers be aware, do not book your trip with Karla Bradley of Star Travel because she may mess up your reservation and then have you stranded in another country for you to fin for yourself.
