I will admit, getting my nails done in the middle of a pandemic felt like a bad idea, and then I stepped into this amazing vestige of safety and cleanliness and my fear was abated. They took my temperature and I answered a Covid questioner before anything. The entire place is safely divided with plexiglass dividers- creating a safe socially and physical barrier between my masked up self and the masked up nail techs. I would like to give this review in two parts, first this place seems to be under new management. The prior experiences were good, but the latest experiences were not what was expected. The organization seemed lacking. For example, they asked me to select a manicurist for my appointment and then did not give me that manicurist for my session. There are others things that were very disappointing from this experience, but it would be too long to write. What was supposed to be a relaxing and bonding experience with friends (bridal party) turned into a stressful confusing experience. The actual manicure was ok with the exception that not all the old polish was removed and you could see it through the new color. I probably will not be back if the management doesn't improve, for example through all the chaos, two "managers" were just standing around not seeming to care about people getting served in an organized fashion. I get my nails done religiously every two weeks. I was looking for a shop closer to home and was pleased with the shape that Andy gave me on my nails. I was horrified to realize just 4 days after getting my nails done they are all popping off!!! That is not normal. I paid for a gel full set, brand new. This was not a fill. I went back to have them fix them and was met with attitude. They only fixed the two that I glued on myself and didn't offer to fix the rest of touch the polish up to make it match. If you get your nails done all the time you can feel if they are loose. It is now 8 days after my nails getting done and all of my nails have completely popped off except my thumb nail! I made an appointment for 3:15 pm, I got there 5 mins early as I usually do. No one told me what to do or where to sign in for fifteen mins. My nails weren't even started until an hour after my appointment at least. I already had on a full set of acrylics. She tried to pry them off, I'm not sure if this is a common technique, but I've never had someone do it. She slipped under my fragile nail, pulled up and ripped half of it. There was no apology. I didn't say anything, but I was clearly in pain and bleeding. I showed her a picture of what i wanted and you could tell she was rushing because she got off at 5 and didn't want to stay late. Okay so I went the first time and I had a wonderful experience, very relaxing and the employees were super sweet. I went with my friends for her birthday, we had a great experience except for the fact that they put FREAKING DETERGENT on our feet! Not only that but it was boiling hot, like the lady couldn't even touch it. But other than that it was a good experience. Recently I told my mom that we should go there because it was super relaxing, however, it turned out the exact opposite. We didn't have an appointment but we called them to ask if they had walk ins. The lady said yes, but told us to get there within the next ten minutes. We started to drive there and because of traffic got there about five minutes late, when we got there we told them we had called a few minutes ago to let them know we would be here, the lady that was at the cash register said okay and took us to our seats, another lady who worked there (which I'm pretty sure was the manager) came up to us and started giving us this huge lecture about how we would now have to wait longer, because we were late. The lady told us that we would now have to wait five more minutes because we had to wait for her employees to eat lunch or else "they would have no energy to do our nails" my mom said that was fine and told her that we would wait. But apparently that wasn't good enough for her, the lady continued to lecture us about the fact that we were late and that her employees would have no energy if they didn't eat lunch. After about five minutes of lecturing, my mom asked if we could leave, because it wasn't relaxing, and was just getting her frustrated, I told her I was sorry and said that we could just go somewhere else. On our way out the door the lady continued to yell at us, and my mom said that she should stop lecturing us, and informed her that we wouldn't be coming back, the lady then proceeded to say these exact words "good! We don't want you back!" And then stormed into the break room. So all of this is to say, go there if you want, it's very relaxing, but there are better places out there read more

Today was no different, awful customer service When I finally asked where I should wait they said "what do you want". I told them mani/pedi and they were extremely rude. I left, won't be back. Have gone there to get all of my pedis in past. Tried mani with acrylic and loved Sandy & 2 other ladies. Adorable & was thrilled to find a place I would visit every 2 weeks. Loved this place....until today. I had one finger where the nail popped off. Went in to have it fixed until I returned for fill in. I was treated absolutely terribly by two people. Their behavior (a man & a woman) was embarrassing. A younger lady who is sweet & friendly came to help me and apologized for them many times. She felt terrible for how they behaved. I will personally never return and I will tell my story. This is unfortunate because my mother in law & daughter also loved this place. None of us will be returning. I hope the three lovely people go somewhere else to work so I can find them & remain their customer. I spent 55$ yesterday for just me. Today we spent 53$ for the both of us. They made sure we liked our nails and didn't pick out or put anything on our nails that we didn't want. The whole team is wonderful, very friendly and they do great work, they have experienced employees and the shop is clean and efficient. Only place I will go now. I have been going to them for the past 2 years. By no means am I a regular, but when I get my nails done I know that they will do a good job and I will get my money's worth. Long wait, one hour, then rushed through a gel pedi then, they literally just painted my nails in the pedi chair in bad light. Some of my nails have no paint on the sides. I was charged for a manicure. I went two times, and I will never go back. They seem inexperienced and the work is unsatisfactory. I don't usually give reviews, but in this case, I want to let my community know my experience. They use a creepy plastic liner, I feel for everyone, because it looked used with a small amount of standing water, and I'm positive their tools are not sanitary. HORRIBLE PLACE! They messed my nails up. I asked their opinion on my nails and if I should get a new set they LIED! I had to go back they next day because the polish was terrible, when I went back they say your nails are old who did them. Ummm.... Y'all did YESTERDAY. I took my nails off and my nail bed was severely damage due to the fill in being dug to deep. To top it off I have FUNGUS on two nails, and these are the two nails I asked about directly to be taken off and replaced. Please don't waste your time and hard earned money. If you want to get your nails filled every 7-10 days and wait forever each time, then have to go back 2 days later for a repair, then this is the place for you. The ladies are very nice and friendly and do a pretty ok job. The men do a horrible job that I guarantee you will have to be redone. I have been going here for 3 months. I have given them the benefit of the doubt. They push your cuticles back with their nails while they are completely dry. This makes it look like you need a fill in literally a few days. They have failed miserably. It is too expensive to have to return so soon. Some of our nails literally fall of within 2-4 days of having them done. All four of us have had the same issues and have decided to not give our hard earned money and hours and hours of our precious time to this salon. They simply don't seem to care about what the customer wants. They do a job that guarantees them more money when you have to come back sooner than should be fair. They tell people it's a ten minute wait and you end up there for 2-3 hours. read more

I LOVE V.A. Nails! My mother (who is very notorious for being picky when it comes to nail salons) took me here for the first time back in November and they had just opened a month prior. Their salon services list is extensive and their manicures and pedicures can be tailored to your wants/needs. One of my favorite parts about this salon is that all nail services come with paraffin wax. I also noticed this salon doesn't have that chemical stench that most other nail salons have (which gives me a headache, personally). The salon is very clean, which to me is just as important as the quality of service itself. The comfort of their pedicure chairs is above average (I could fall asleep if I let myself!), and they have smaller chairs for the young divas, too :) They have a larger selection of gel nail color than other salons I've been to in the St. Charles area. The staff is always very friendly and makes you feel comfortable during your visit. My mom and I are "regulars," and when I took her there on her birthday they went above and beyond for her, it was very sweet. read more
