I know San Sebastian is world-renowned for its pinxtos, but one afternoon I just really wanted a burger. So after a quick Internet search, my boyfriend found Va Bene. Delicious, juicy, burgers prepared with quality ingredients that rivaled some of the best gourmet burgers I've had in the United States. Just an FYI, it costs 1 euro more to sit in the outside covered area.

Really good burger joint with bar. Fast service, good food, great prices & friendly staff. There are 2 locations & I opted for the one by the beach/my hotel rather than in old town by all the bars/Pintxo crowd. Definitely recommend if you're looking for something simple & not expensive. Try the old town location if you're looking for an outdoor late night spot.

Number 13 with beer and fries. Can never go wrong!

My kid wanted a burger. I didn't eat anything. I'd imagine service and ambiance is better in Tehran right now.

This place was worth the half hour wall from our hotel in Old Town into a more local residential…read moreneighborhood. We had reservations at 9pm and when we got there the place was packed with locals. We were prob the only out of towners. The energy was buzzing! Because it was such a local place most people spoke the local dialect but there was one waitress who spoke decent English! Bread and tin can sized spread was brought to the table. It was a fish spread that was creamy like foie but not rich like foie. We polished that tin clean! Great start! We also started off with a refreshing bottle of local white wine. Iberico Jamon We ordered the half portion of this which game pretty generous and with con tomate spread. The Iberico had deep nutty flavors. Mushroom croquettes Pintxos sized. Bite sized round morsels of goodness. Crunchy with hints of woodiness. Mussels croquettes Pintxos sized as well but bigger in size. We ordered one of this and that was perfect. This was my fave croquette. There was def no shortage of mussel bits giving it that distinct texture and flavor. Best Salt Potatoes That is a tough name to live up to! Initially at first glance they didn't look like anything special to me. Until I took my first bite.. Skin is dry but when you cut up to eat you taste the salt flavor and when you dab a bit of the con tomate, the velvety texture and sweetness comes out. Loved! Scallops with Thai Juice Pico De Gallo This came served on the shell. Fresh and Steamed perfectly with meat being tender and not chewy or overdone at all. The lemongrass juice and Pico de Gallo was a match made in heaven! Mushroom Ravioli w/Truffle Oil Skin thin and tasty! Pintxos serving. Two bites of happiness. Nutty mushroom flavor. Sauce not overwhelming or heavy. Just right! Panbao Hake Tempura Curry Mayo Wakame Salad I'm usually not a bao fan. This mantao was done as good as the Asians do it. Super soft with a slight hint of sweetness. The Hake Tempura was a Chunky and flaky fish perfect for that fish and chips effect but not breaded heavy like they do it in the UK. The curry Mayo was subtle and the Wakame salad gave it nice texture. I was a fan! Hamburger Japanese Emulsion Cheese Onions Extra creds bc this was perfectly medium rare. A thick burger with nice brioche bun. Hubs and I shared this. A very good burger. We were stuffed but we saved room for dessert!! Pistachio Cake Yogurt Ice Cream and Lime Ice Opted for this instead of the famous San Sebastian cheesecake. This was OMFG delicious. Not heavy at all. The balance between the cake and the yogurt ice cream lime ice was something I never would have thought of but it worked!!! Service was on point. Staff was professional and accommodating! Love local neighborhood non touristy joints like this!!

Portions are generous. Flavors are big and balanced. Just delicious, whether seafood or meat or vegetables. We had scallops in a deep seafood stock, grilled hake with Thai infused coconut milk and lobster oil, and classic Indian butter chicken. Each dish outstanding on its own, all from one kitchen is wow. Presentation is thoughtful and beautiful. Vibe is cool without trying to be cool. Feels relaxed. Fun music playing without being loud or intrusive. Staff are fun and friendly and precise in their care. And to take it all to the next level was our host, Cesar. Not just thoughtful and welcoming but his passion for each dish and the care and thought that goes into them was obvious. His joy is genuine and we appreciated him sharing details with us so we could be part of the fun. In a city with so much wonderful food, La Madame stands out because it is a sit down restaurant, serving fresh and inspired and delicious food, with care and creativity and obsessive detail and pure happiness. Make a reservation, it's worth it. And take in the joy Cesar shares with you through every dish.

Good Many people had…read moresaid this place was amazing. The service was really good. The Scallops and Hamburger were really good from what the people in our group ordered. The scallops were a main course but only had 5 scallops not starch or vegetables, great flavor. So both that ordered the scallops thought they should be more to the dish. The large prawns from Ecuador influence was delicious with basil and peanut sauce. Everyone said the Indian influenced butter chicken was best dish of the night. The pork potsticker from Vietnam Was really nice. The waiter we had took us on a great food journey during the description. The cocktails were great with a nice variety. The Bad: My group had a 4 star experience I had a 3 star experience. To start we were a party of 6 and they only brought 3 menus and they asked me for my order before I was even able to look at the menu. So having to wait on looking at the menu was rather rude in my opinion each customer should get a menu. So started off with a negative. Especially since they were asking us to order when 2-3 people hadn't even looked at the menu. The waiter should let everyone know to share the menus when they only bring three menus for a party of 6. I ordered the Wellington 2.0 It should be called .5 For me it wasn't an improvement on a beef Wellington it was not even half a beef Wellington. It was a take on Beef Wellington. But the puff pastry was an after thought that didn't even cover the top of my steak. They said the steak would be medium and recommended that. It was just below medium rare very blood. The broccoli was cooked okay but not really seasoned. I had never had parsnips but figured I would try something new it had foie Gras, also so I now know this combination is not for me. See photos So I don't recommend Wellington 2.0 Unless you just very rare medium rare, with parsnip purées and foie Gras.
