I like stilleto so that often makes it difficult too. I called and set up an appointment two weeks before the date. I asked if they used the dremmel tool and I was told yes but if I didn't want it that it would be okay. I don't like how weak it makes my nails. I showed up to my appt a few minutes early and I saw her reach for the dremmel and I explained that I don't like to use that and I apologized. She said no problem started buffing the top layer of the nail polish and then let me know that they just still your hands in the acetone. Not ideal but okay. She files them and I am so pleased with how she is doing it. However, I notice I am not getting my cuticles cut or anything besides a polish changed and a file. I honestly was thinking maybe they paint then do them (I was so surprised). She told me the cost was $30. I saw on the board that it said 25 for shellac and asked why the difference. She explained that $5 was for taking off someone else's nail polish and I then said what about cuticles and such and she said that you have to specify if you want a manicure there. I looked at her in surprise I am sure because she then said that most people who get shellac do not want a full mani. I have never heard of this. I have even been told by my nail tech that she hates when I just want a polish change because it doesn't look as finished. My appointment was with Cynthia. All the reviews I saw were amazing. I am unsure as to what happened but I feel like she was upset from the beginning about me not wanting to use the dremmel tool. My appointment was yesterday. You can see from the photo below that it is not ideal for having a fresh mani (or lack of one). I am out $35 bucks and I still don't have a manicure.

They did an OK job on my fingernails but they're underfiled and still rough around the edges and there is excess powder residue even after washing my hands with the brush. I was told there were three options for pedicure. I chose the middle one, being upgraded with extra massage time, a scrub and a hot towel. The extra massage ended up being the time it took to put lotion on and for two legs, the time was exactly 38 seconds total! I was shocked. That's not an exaggeration, I stopwatch timed it because I wanted to compare it to other places I've been. There was no foot massage at all. I wanted shellac but he said it wasn't a good idea because of my toenails were "thin" so I went with regular polish and it's on my cuticles and is thinner in some places. The ineffective scrub left excess skin still on my feet. I paid $45 for this. It looks no better than when I came in. I questioned the length of massage and appearance of the nail polish and was dismissed because they were busy with other people. I took the pictures while sitting in the nail salon so there's no questioning that this was their freshly done mess. While I was waiting for the terribly done regular polish to dry, another client called in and said she was canceling due to having tested positive for Covid yesterday and they told her they were going to be out of town next week and she could come in later in the week if she felt better. That's not how it works, you're contagious for at least a week. So they're wide-open for taking appointments for confirmed Covid cases and then traveling to other states to spread it. I just moved here and was hoping this could be my spot since it's so close to my house but I'll never come back.
