Went today and I got the color I didn't ask for and I was charged for acrylic but they didn't do it. They botched the design and it looks terrible. The lady was rude and disrespectful. Anytime I have been there, its always been awhile of a wait, even when I have an appointment set. I find that people with their appointment later then mine go before me often. However I have never hated my nails after going there. The service could be better, how ever it isn't horrible. The vibe is sketchy, workers smoke outside often, and I feel unsafe and like I am being watched anywhere I go in the salon. read more

I love to support local businesses and I wish this place was better. But it's not. It's horrible. I've been twice (once 5 yrs ago), and both times I've been overcharged, disappointed, and frankly stunned that this place can exist. Most recently I made an appointment for 2 regular manicures ($17 each) and came out with a bill of $89 (before gratuity). Prices are not listed and there's no way to tell what anything costs. The manicures were only marginally okay. There is zero adherence to sanitation protocols. The towels used for the manis and pedis are old gross fraying gray rags that used to be white. The only slightly saving grace is that the staff are pretty nice and accommodating. But seriously, avoid this place. You're better off buying a nice mani kit and doing it yourself. I'd give this place 0/5 stars if given the opportunity. Went in after making an appt more than an hour prior. Once I got there I waited 15 mins then was told it would be another 15 mins. Ran next door and came back in 10 mins to find everyone waiting that had appts after me were in chairs. And no one said anything to me... left and would not recommend based on their professionalism to go there unless you MUST. Unfortunately for the people of Decorah it's the only real option. Sorry people of Decorah, hopefully you get another nail shop. Best of luck. read more

I made an appointment for myself and two of my friends for 1pm today. I called to make this appointment last night at 6pm. We all got to the salon at 12:55 and have been sitting here for almost an hour. It is currently 1:40 and none of us had been helped until a bit ago. First of all, the pedicure water is freezing. The chairs have not been wiped down in between customers, people either are not wearing masks, or are wearing them incorrectly, and people who came as walk-ins are getting treated before the people with appointments. This is the first and last time my friends and I will be going here. I do not recommend V-nails. If you need to get your nails done and you live in decorah, just go to Rochester. I came in to get my nails done and I had a specific design that I wanted to get. I'm rather picky about my nails and I can honestly say that I've never been anywhere that has done my nails better than they were done here. Jenny did my manicure and it turned out beautifully- I showed her a photo of what I wanted my nails to look like and they turned out just how I wanted them. one of the men gave horrible service. did not listen to my length and design requests, had a dirty work station to the point of dirt getting painted into my nails, the top coat was bubbly, and he was wayy too rough with my nails. the french tips were too low and the butterfly were hideously placed. could tell he just wanted to get the manicure done as fast as possible. read more

Visited this nail salon for the first time yesterday. The pricing is outrageous for Decorah Iowa. The owner is a woman who just calls out a price off the top of her head. $116.00 for a set of nails and a pedicure before a gratuity .... This is not Beverly Hills...!!! There is no sterilization of the instruments used, they just move on from one to the next. The whirlpool tubs used for the pedicures are not cleaned between customers, to beware ! If you do choose to go there ask for Tom, as he is a good manicurist but be prepared for a high price to pay and unsanitary conditions. read more

Pricing is outrageous and not posted anywhere for many services. Ask for prices plus tax BEFORE receiving services!!! Pricing is made up on the fly. Not informed until payment. Removing old shellac polish and callus removal/treatment of any kind are an additional cost in a pedicure...also not posted anywhere. Scratched my natural nails and they do not own a buffer. Mani/pedi discount is not offered!! Their prices are normal for high end spas/salons which this is not. It's a strip mall salon $20-30 higher than similar salons. Liner is put in the pedi bowl for each patron. Used cheese grater on my heels which feels great at first, but creates a worse heel over time from all the grating. Made an appt, there on time, and waited for 20 minutes because they took walk-ins right at my appt time and did not want to lose their business or ask them to book an appt. Charged $26 for a toddler little girl to have her tiny nails and toes painted (gel on fingernails only) since last nail polish did not last 1 hour afterwards before it completely peeled off. read more

My daughter and I had a mani/pedi at V Nails. Our feet have never been so soft following the pedicure. We had gel manicures and they were very well done. The staff is friendly and interactive.
