The guy who represents the establishment told me it would be $200 if I pulled it myself and it cost me 400 if they did it so we get to the front desk and we were told that it would cost 400 regardless and then the lady at the front desk started getting loud with my father saying then go somewhere else and my father said we're gonna go somewhere else where they're gonna be straight up to the customer and not lie from the get-go and then the woman started screaming, and then the guy who represents the establishment came out into the lobby with a pistol, threatening, my father, as we were walking out and then me and my girlfriend tried to talk in a normal manner and they kept yelling at us so I definitely do not recommend unless you're fluent in white trash

As we went to their internal scale to weigh the last of our load, the gentleman (I'm being civil, here) operating the scale greeted us warmly enough. What followed, though, blew my damn mind. In the course of making conversation, he asked what I've come to call "filtering questions", driving towards a) if we're from the area (yes), b) how long we've been here (since birth), and c) exactly where in the area we're from, first with the county, then the town. He tossed out suggestions for some of the more racially diverse communities in our area, but when told we're from a more rural community, visually relaxed, then felt the need to tell us how "Mexicans" (said somewhat under his breath) have ruined the city wide yard sale in our hometown "with their cheap Chinese crap". When I refuted this, he began to scoff, then redirected the conversation towards guns, how much he loves them ("I love my guns!"... "How else are you gonna shoot somebody?"), and the fact that he's shot people before, because "they deserved it", and tried to justify his casual attitude about the entire thing with what seemed, to me, to be a half-hearted self-defense plea. In this area, I don't expect this review to make much difference. That said, if you'd rather not sell your scrap to what seem to be gun-toting racists, I'd stay away. As for the payout? Seemed like market value or thereabouts to me, pretty fair.

Volunteer has been my go to scrap yard for over 10 years. They have always been nice to me and…read moretheir prices are Top. The workers they have have been loyal to the company for years. The girls in the office are on point as well . It is nice to see the same people and a smiling face when its 104 outside, raining, and snowing. Also I have never got a nail in my tire there, Thank God for Volunteer and the great work they do!!!
