I haven't been to many other paintball arenas, so my mileage varies. They never clean the arena, and you're likely to slip if you're not careful. DO NOT touch the blow-up cover. You'll ruin your clothes. Don't wear any clothes you aren't comfortable getting full of paint, obviously but more so when you're crouching or sliding. This place is also expensive, about $40 per person last time I went, comes with some paintballs but if you want to play longer than an hrs you'll end up buying more that'll set you back anywhere from $15-50+ Not bad for an option in the valley but keep in mind it's a bit of hole on the wall, fun to be had but temper your expectations. read more

Called to reserve a time to paintball. I purchased a Groupon and was told they would not honor it. It would not have been so bad if the person who answered the phone wasn't so rude about it. He tried to say they didn't have anything to do either Groupon. My suggestion is to not sign up to sell coupons for your business on Groupon if you are not going to honor. If you have restrictions you should be clear what those restrictions are. Based on the customer service over the phone I wouldn't go to to this place with a Groupon or not. I have very mixed reviews on Utah Xtreme Paintball. So I'm also going with the good, bad, and ugly. The Good: - My son and his friends had so much fun! They still can't stop talking about it (which is why the four stars and not 3). - Staff took safety seriously and made sure the boys understood the rules. The Bad: - Efficiency is not their Moto... everything took SO LONG to do. We were the only group there and it took over 30 mins to check in, get gear and get out on the field. And when they needed a quick break to reload or clean goggles the staff would be taking a snack break and we'd have to ask them to go back on the field. The UGLY: - The building, yes it's paintball, yes it's messy, and yes I don't expect it to be perfect. But this place is pretty run down. With just a little work it could be a decent place. We had all the boys wear hoodies with pants and they said the paintballs would still sting a little. I wouldn't advise bare skin, long sleeves and pants for sure! All in all we had a blast. If I could give this place a - 5 stars I definitely would, but 1 star is the lowest I am able to give them. We called a couple of days before going here asking if we can get the Groupon deal directly from them, and they said that will be fine. So me and my friends decided to go there. When we all got there, first of all they would not give us the Groupon deal. The guy was saying the system would not allow him to input a custom deal like that. So we were a little bothered by this and decided to get the Groupon anyways, even though the deal wasn't as good anymore, it was a couple of dollars more. The Groupon came to $50 or so. Then the guy waited until we bought the groupon, and immediately after I bought the Groupon he said we had to pay another $35 "tax" that Groupon didn't charge. I reread the Groupon deal, it said it included everything needed to play, it never mentions such a fee. This is first of all Tax Fraud, because I am pretty sure they are not giving the tax to the state like all taxes are supposed to be given. And it is false advertisement. It really bothers me that thieves like these guys are allowed to run a business. If you can't afford to do a Groupon deal, then don't have a Groupon deal. Disgusting. read more

A whole lot of fun for sure. This Is the first indoor site i have played at, so I do not really have a comparison. We took a group of boys for a fun night out, and it was. The retail prices seem a bit high if you were to just walk in; we had a really great group rate. You may want to check Groupon or KSL; I Have seen deals posted before. The staff was pretty responsive, safety is at the forefront of their concerns. Wear some old jeans and a sweatshirt with a hoodie is a plus; will give some added protection especially if you have some hair challenges such as I do. The time will go by quickly; and you will blow through a hopper of paint balls in about two rounds. Be aggressive, and shoot a lot. Fun night, and certainly something different. read more

Group of 8 for a Batchelor party. Overall had a fun time. Shot some people and got shot as well. Spent about 90 minutes playing. Each round is two games and then a break to reload ammo and reset teams. Much of the place is dated except for the clothing same area. The masks are missing the chin straps and we were told the all the markers are the same as the electronic ones (that may come with the gold package) all broke. Paint is 2x-3x market price. The bathroom was surprisingly clean though the soap dispenser had issues and it was only electronic so little to do about that. I would go back with a larger group to get in private games. The paint markers (not guns) are semi accurate, which is fine if everyone has the same rental markers. A couple guys had nice markers and lit up the opposing team each round from the far corners... The rented ones could not shoot nearly as accurate. I would go back with a 10+ group for some private games, or play with other novices, though I would first compare pricing elsewhere. I will start this by saying this was the worst paintball place I have ever been to. I am a very experienced paintballer who has been to over 10 different paint ball locations and this was by far the worst. Here is why... First off, this is how they make their money.. they charge cheap fee to get in and rent a gun with mask, etc. but what they don't tell you is you will be over paying around 70$ for paintballs. They charge $100 for a box of 2000 paintballs. That is absurd. And they don't let you bring your own paintballs. If anyone wants to look up the normal cost of a box of paintballs right now you will see how crazy that is. For those not familiar with the cost of paintballs. You can get a cheap box of 2000 for 30-35$, a decent box for 40-45$ and top of the line paint balls for 50-60$. So them charging 100$ for their low quality paint blew my mind. They DO NOT maintain ANYTHING. They have 1 air ball field. Just one. And they failed to keep anything clean. The floor is so gross and so paint covered that you literally cannot run on their turf with out slipping. All of their air bunkers are covered in paint and never cleaned. All of their air bunkers were practically flat and not secured. In one of my games the enemy teams main cover in the middle fell over for no reason and they got lit up. All they need to do is invest in a 100$ power washer and spray the floor. I had even talked to another customer while I was there about how horrible the floor was and he said he has been going for 3 years and it has ALWAYS been that bad. Blew my mind. Also both guns rented for the night had barrels that were not cleaned and had broken paint all over them. Bolts were loose and the velocity was set to around 200 when they all should have been at 275 (the standard at ANY paintball field). The only reason I was even renting a gun was because I haven't played in years and have sold all my actual gear sometime back and was hoping this would be a way back in to the scene. The staff, was very condisending. There was 3 people working tonight. 2 refs and 1 behind the counter guy. Only 1 ref (an Asian fellow) was decent and nice. The other 2 were very rude. Each game has a 20 minute wait in between. We would play 2 rounds. One round on each side. Only about 5 minutes of play, with a 15-20 minute intermission. I spent more time sitting and waiting than I did playing. At the end of the night a group showed up with some female players and male players. In our last match one of the girls got hurt and the husband of the women that got hurt was out of control stating that it's not okay to shoot a female from the distance she was shot by another player (not me). He started getting into this other players face and I stepped in saying that "this is paint ball. She signed the waver and accepted the risk of getting hurt. It's not this (players) fault." He continued to get aggressive and mad that no one agreed with him and the ref stood by and let it escalate to the point that threats were being said. At the end of the situation, the horrid ref John think his name was, made up some fake rules saying that, players aren't supposed to even cross half way across the field and that the player that got to close was in the wrong. I was SHOCKED. This is paint ball. Not dodge paintball! Where you can't go on your opponents side? It made no sense. Maybe he was just trying to defuse the situation. But siding with the person that was out of control to everyone else was unbelievable. I will never return to this establishment. And I seriously urge anyone thinking about coming here to try another option. read more

We had fun- many first time paintballers in our group and the staff, particularly our second referee was very helpful. It was fun to get out and do something different. I picked this venue over Paintball Addicts due to the negative Yelp reviews on the other joint. The place is starting to get a bit run down. Also the games were too far apart. Because we had many newer players, our two games were finished fast. Overall it's a good place for first timers. read more

Dont understand why people bitch about the paint prices but do they not get that is how they make their money? Anyways, I love the way the turf feels, makes it so much easier to run and slide. It is not a waste of your time. It was awesome. It was fun. Yes, the field wasn't clean, and yes it may have been gross but that's how it should be at that kind of place. Management was great. Great experience! Used the Groupon and had no issues whatsoever with it like the other reviews. Keep in mind Groupon is good Monday-Thursday only. Staff was very helpful. NEVER go here! The staff assaulted our group of 9 teenagers by repeated firing on them with high powered paint ball guns, game after game. When my son asked them to stop, he said "life's not fair." He lost hearing in one ear (going to audio specialist tomorrow) because they fired repeatedly at his ear. Even with ear covers on, it did so much damage that his ear rang all night and can't hear out of it. Two other boys were bleeding also. Too many welts on their body to count, but not from the other players-- that did not hurt. But from the assault of the staff who semi-automatically let lose on them even when they had their hands up and were begging for them to stop. Awful! read more

We went here for my little brother's birthday since he wanted to go paintballing but it was close to 105° in salt lake that day (in the beginning of July) and so this was a great option for us. We took a group of maybe 11-12 people. The staff there was very fun and seemed to know what they were doing. It was a great first experience with indoor paintball. My only warnings would be--prepare to get a little bruised (just a hazard of paintball), the floor in the indoor arena is very sticky- with the almost glue-like paint from exploded paintballs, and it is HOT in there. I thought it would be cooler if they traded out the inflatables for some real obstacles like crates or little houses or something, but overall this is a great place, fun environment for playing some pretty awesome paintball (when it's too hot to play outside) read more

My family planned to have our nephews birthday here, we purchased our tickets from the Utah State Fair Grounds and was told that we would need to pay $20.00 per person for ammo. We called last week and asked to make sure that it would be $20.00 per person and a nice gentleman told me that it was $20.00. We get there and we are told that we will have to pay $30.00 per person because it's air plus the ammo. we have a group of 16 and never been there and felt like we were treated unfair. We paid $427.36 all together to be put with people who were not following the rules they gave us. I'm glad the kids had fun and we made the best of it. I definitely would not return or recommend this place. Do not purchase these tickets from the both at the State Fair because they bait and switched things. They tell you one thing and do another and when you get there they can't even honor what they said in person and on the phone. Also on the unfairness their referee played favorites to the regulars that go there, and would tell us repeatedly if your shot your out but some of us weren't out yet and he would stop the game. I really wished it was just our group playing against each other instead of the pros that already knew how to play shooting on the other side against us. Masks smell horrible bathrooms are filthy and the place smells like horse shit. Paint ball room was so slippery and wet some of us fell. read more

Free rentals on Wednesday are a bust. One star is too much for this joke of an establishment. The manager would not honor their website ad. We spent almost an hour getting signed in to then be told the ad on their site is no longer being honored. The manager is aware that the Wednesday deal is on their site but isn't sure why it's still on there. I took a youth group and was ready to buy a couple thousand paintballs to split between 13 of us. Manager called the owner and told me he would be fired if he honored their ad. If you're looking for a dumpy stinky warehouse to go paintballing, this is your place. But be prepared to be told that you're not worth their time and energy for them to honor their words. I was told the price of their paintballs ($100) wasn't worth the effort. We went to the Sandy nicklecade had a blast. Not worth the "free entry and rentals". Don't waste your time. Utah Xtreme Paintball is a joke of an establishment without an honest manager or honorable owner. Bad bad bad form. Will work out paintballing with another reputable and honest company. read more
