This post office is pretty average, in my opinion. The employees are quite friendly, and I have never had any issues with them. The line has never been terribly long when I went in to pick up packages or ship things off. Most of what I see here is the customers being extremely rude to the staff, which is unfortunate. We had a package that said it was delivered but we couldn't find it. Next day we went to the post office and talked with someone that helped a lot and called the mail carrier who thought they had the package. We met the carrier (Kim) who works our route who gave us a package, but it wasn't the one that was lost. She went through the entire truck looking for our package with no lucked. Talked to people again at the post office who truly tried to help and looked for the package multiple times. The next day we went back to the office and they checked again and found out that it wasn't our normal route carrier, it was a different person who apparently put the package in the mail box next door. Kim came first thing after that to search for the package and to our surprise found it! Kim definitely took the time and effort to help us get this sorted out, in addition to the two people we worked with at the office. Obviously it isn't an ideal situation, but we're just glad that the package was eventually found and that we have a great person working our route. read more

I don't know who the carriers are. I do know I've never had such a difficult time getting packages I've ordered delivered to my address. I sign up for the text/email tracking to follow the package's arrival. I do this for a variety of reasons. Today, text says package was delivered at 4:05. It wasn't I stayed at home waiting for this package. I contacted where the package was coming from and they said don't worry it'll be there. Then they sent confirmation the package was left at the door - and again it was not. If there was another alternative, and I've asked to use instead of USPS I would pay extra for that service. Pensacola postal workers on or off base are not customer service oriented. They give you an attitude and are not welcoming or friendly at all. Especially the female Navy base post worker thats always there any given day of the week that they're open. She is extremely rude and provides terrible service. The carriers at this location are the worst I have *ever* seen. First, I found mail thrown on the ground at an unused door of my home by a (female) carrier. The post office would not answer my repeated calls, so I filed a complaint at USPS.com. I was told that a reprimand would be issued, then I received an email asking if I had received follow-up and was satisfied -- no and no! Second, my dog alerted me to someone in our driveway, and when I opened the door I saw the lights on my SUV flashing, meaning that someone without a key had tried to open the locked door, and the (male) mail carrier walking from the SUV back to his mail truck. After, once again, the local post office would not answer my repeated calls, I called USPS to file a complaint. The first thing the representative said was, "Do you have video?" Seriously?! Who the devil, other than a bratty kid, goes around ready to shoot video all dang day? Then I was told that I should've called local law enforcement. When I told her that this is a second incident and that I had been trying to call the local post office to discuss it with a supervisor but that, again, no one there will answer the phone, she gave me another number to call. That number, as well, was never answered. These incidents happened about 1-2 months apart. read more

Came in to get a flat rate box. Never purchased one before. Stood in line for over 15 minutes, only 4 people ahead of me. Get to the counter and sit the boxes down. The older man stares at me, and waits for me to pull my wallet out and say hello sir. He replies, "You pay for these when you come back. They're free to take. You didn't know?" I said "That would have been nice to know 15 minutes prior one of the several times you looked at me waiting for the next person as my son is waiting in my car for me. "He laughs and says, "Well, everybody knows that." The lady behind me says, "I didn't", and I say, "Neither did I. Clearly not everyone. You should post that perhaps by the boxes." He scoffs and says, "Ya, well, there you go." And waves over the next person. Shame on me for not knowing something that isn't posted or he failed to let me know over 15 minutes of him staring at me. I understand that mail coming in is delayed. I get that, I am understanding of that and I sympathize with that. However, when I arrange a pickup of a package (too big for mailbox) off of my very accessible porch, I find it disturbing when I watch as the carrier stops at the mailbox, reads something on a list, then drives on by. The only reason I watched today is because this has happened three times before. It's not a complicated pickup (just Soda Stream return cartridges) that I arrange on the USPS website, which always gives me a confirmation of "Hey! We gotch'ya! Just set it out where you said you would and we'll pick it right up!" but neglects to mention that the mail carrier just might not feel up to it that day. Oh! And good luck calling the local post office! THEIR motto is "Meh, eff it" and you're stuck yelling at the walls. I have tried to contact this branch several times. Now the number just says they are closed! It's barely past 2pm! I work at a local elementary school and we are not getting mail delivered or picked up. It has been a week now! Also, at the beginning of the school year it took weeks to get them to deliver our mail to us! They said there was a hold on our account. Nobody put a hold on our school. Had a delivery Monday from Amazon Prime. The lady left it at only vacant house on Fairmont. Even though neighbor told her the house was vacant. My house and and mailbox are clearly marked. This location for the USPS is especially close to my house. The lines aren't too bad if you time it right. But in general, I'm not a fan of the post office. I prefer the UPS store (even though they are more expensive). Their tracking is much better! read more

I think I know part of the reason the Postal Service is losing money every year. We have more difficulty getting (only) our mail delivered to our home. No P.O. Box, no walking required by carrier but, our mail has been delivered to an address where the home owners spends one week out of the year. They brought it to us and the post mark was six months prior. Packages are "delivered" but not to our house. In December, we received word that a piece of mail that had been sent to us was returned to our friend as "insufficient address." Address was correct and once we received it, via a personal delivery, we took the envelope to post office and spoke with Selena (12/19/2018). She informed us she would look into it and get back to us. NEVER heard back and February 12th, we again spoke with Selena regarding the returned notice-she, once again, said she would look into it and get back with us. February 20th, I went back to this post office. This time, I am told she had left for a doctor appointment. I asked if she would be in on Thursday and was told yes. Fortunately, I was given phone number for post office because, when I called today (February 21st), I am told she is not working today. Thank goodness I did not make ANOTHER trip. Spoke with representative Janet and according to Janet, there is no way to find out why it was returned. I asked why Selena had stated she would look into it (which never happened) and her response was "I cannot speak for Selena." read more

If I could give this post office no stars I would. I don't use the word hate, but I absolutely HATE going to this post office! I mail many packages on a weekly basis. There are 2 employees who are very rude and when I see them I want to leave. They are not helpful in any way. It got to the point where I stopped going to my local post office and I'd drive across town. My packages are constantly placed in my neighbors mail box. I had a package that I needed to sign. The notice was left on my door. I went to the post office to get it and was told someone had already picked it up. My husband is confined to a wheelchair. No one else lives with us yet they insisted that I already picked up my package. To my understanding I thought the post office has to look at a person's ID in order to release packages. Had they looked they would have realized that I did not pick up my package! In the last month this post office claimed to have delivered 3 packages. There was tracking and I received notifications that my packages were left in my box. Not!..No packages. I submitted a claim with the post office. The following week I received an email stating my claim was resolved! How?! I never received a call nor a follow up email. No one is responding to my emails asking how it was resolved. Time and money have been wasted and lost. I don't know what else I could possibly do other than spending yet more money renting a box!!! read more

We have the worse postman, I live in 3300 block of West Jackson Street, somebody hit my wooden fence during Nate, knocking most of it down, it took me several days to get it cleaned up, as I am handicapped, but was cleaned up and mailbox put back up. Had my flag up for outgoing mail. He could see it was cleaned up, because it was sticking out of my garbage can, he made no attempt to pick up mail or deliver mail. If you live in Pensacola Florida and you want your important document to get where it's supposed to go, yoou may want to consider other options. Since 2007 (over 115) certified letters have been sent from an individual in Walnut Hill, Alabama to me. They sent it certified on the 1st working day of the month, or before, and it always arrived on the 3rd of the month (115 times). Since December 2016 all bets were off. No letter on the 3rd, or 4th, so I contacted the individual in Walnut Hill, who gave me the certified tracking number. The Pensacola post office had no idea where it was and even questioned that it was ever sent. In fact, they were argumentative about the Certified really being sent. For days, no letter, and after contacting the Walnut Hill, individual, he sent another certified letter on December 13, 2016. On December 16th, I magically received both letters (one being postmarked Dec 1, 2016 and the other Dec 13, 2016. The post office blamed the Christmas rush for it happening. Since I now had received 2 documents, I did not need it sent in January. February 1st certified letter sent from Walnut Hill again. February 3rd, the orange card showing attempted delivery was in mailbox. I took the card to the post office the next day and no letter. Again, the post office was questioning the validity of the card. The card has the the name of the carrier and a partial tracking number (for some reason the carrier did not feel the need to put the entire number on the card), and the post office seem dumbfounded that they have a carrier with the name on the card? Today is December 10, 2017 and after visiting the main branch and multiple calls, no one has a clue what happened to the certified letter. When I asked if they talked to the carrier who delivered it, I was greeted with a very uncomfortable pause... Someone needs to investigate the disconnect of what happened.
