I did not approach the counter until I was acknowledged, as I didn't know whether the clerk was busy. When I politely asked if I had been called, the employee (who identified herself as "Liz") responded rudely and told me I needed to hang up my phone. I immediately ended my work call and approached the counter. I apologized and explained that I don't step up to a register until I'm waved over. Despite this, the employee continued to be hostile. Before leaving, I tried to end the interaction on a positive note by wishing her a better day. Her response was, "You need an education." This comment was completely unprovoked, disrespectful, and inappropriate for a customer-facing employee. I have never been treated so poorly at a USPS location. Have a pen and all the info you need ready so you can walk in and get everything you need with out any frustration. They have the envelopes and boxes for most packages and tape onsite to do it yourself. I also suggest to check out the occasion cards. I've actually bought some pretty good and funny birthday cards here. Cash or card is also accepted here so no worries. They also do passports here with no appointment needed.
