This is "my" post office (as in, the one that delivers my mail). That said, I am going to comment on my mail delivery -- we did not get mail on a NON federal holiday a total of 3x (I can distinctly recall) in 2016. The mailman/woman did not come. No mail was delivered. No, it wasn't that I personally didn't receive it, my neighbors didn't either. Neither did their neighbors. This wasn't due to any government shutdown or continuing resolution, etc. either. Just NO MAIL. Take a minute, let it blow your mind.
I personally know MY mail lady and she's a very hardworking, likable nice person. She gets thr mail delivered. She did have some health trouble in 2016 and I feel for her. However, I like to think an entire portion of a city's mail delivery should NOT depend on this very kind, hardworking woman and her ability to get to work every day she's scheduled. If she needs to be out of work a day (or half a year + on FMLA), that the feds can find, hire, train, and maintain a suitable replacement for her who can handle her duties. Turns out, they couldn't. She was pushing 50, or older. the replacement wore basketball shorts and looked 25.
I had several issues with outgoing client packages, bins being taken (for my outgoing pickups, extra wait time for supplies, and just overall nonsense from the fill ins for the fill in.
When I did go into the office (supervisor here is Maria BTW), I was just told my regular carrier would be back soon (or was back). Honestly?! How about a plan B USPS?
To take the cake, my husband asked to exchange stamps here because he got the wrong design (and how often do you buy stamps?) The clerk here said no he had counterfeit postage. Dahhh. Go to Greenfield or Oak Creek this PO is not.worth.it. read more
