"A year has passed since I wrote my note," the narrator reveals before laying bare that he "hope[s]…read morethat someone gets my message in a bottle" in the Police's 1979 number one, UK chart-topping, hit song of the same name. But what if, instead of those pleas echoing from the vocal chords of an island castaway, they were delivered matter-of-factly from one of the many soon-to-be-satisfied patrons of the U.S. Post Office located at 10901 Rhode Island Ave. in Beltsville, Maryland? First, we would lose all manner of suspense in the lyrics credited to Sting; and, second, the narrator's devastating visual discovery of "a hundred billion bottles washed up on the shore," signifying that he's "not alone in being alone," would never have happened, because the bottle, carefully sent via USPS, would have reached its intended destination within the relayed projected time.

Customer service was great at this location. I went here yesterday for the first time to inquire…read moreabout passport services. I spoke with a staff member who was Asian, I'm sorry I didn't get his name but he was so helpful in answering my questions and explaining the process. I was impressed and appreciative. I went back today with my documents and a young lady named Shawnte assisted me. OMG, she was so pleasant and helpful, she patiently took care of my documents and gave clear instructions, at the same time assisted other customers just as efficiently and friendly as she did me. It is refreshing to receive this type of service AGAIN! I have gone to several USPS locations in Rockville, Bethesda, Kensington, College Park and now Beltsville. I have to say the service and tone of this Beltsville location is superior than the others. I say it's refreshing because in today's world the type of service we receive is horrible. It's absolutely horrible to call any business for assistance and receive appropriate service. We're lucky to get a person on the phone and one who can actually resolve the issue. Thank You Beltsville USPS!! You're doing something right !!

Would give zero stars if possible. An older woman with straight brown hair and glasses wasted my…read moretime by instructing me to leave and return with my package after assuring me she would print my shipping label. When I returned 25 minutes later exactly as instructed, she abruptly claimed she was unable to ship the package and responded with an unnecessarily rude, dismissive attitude instead of taking accountability for the misinformation she gave me. The lack of communication and unnecessary attitude completely changed what had otherwise been a positive experience. Customer service should not make people feel like an inconvenience for following the exact instructions they were given.

I feel bad about blasting a post office, as they're struggling to stay afloat. But man, this place…read morehas rude staff and terrible hours. I've had less than friendly encounters there before, but today took the cake. I walked into a dark room 15 minutes after they opened. I stood there for a few minutes while a woman was on her phone talking to her friend, dropping f-words like commas. An alarm went off, she walked by me, completely ignored me, shut it off, and slammed a door. Finally she took a break to tell me they were closed. I asked "Didn't you open at 11?" She snapped, "Yeah, well, I got here late." They're only open 5 hours a day. If you can't put on a fake customer service smile for 5 hours in a mostly empty location, maybe you're not ready for a job in customer service.
