The one place I really hate to go is the post office. If I have my mail delivered to my apartment I really do not want to go to the post office unless it is a dire emergency. That's how I ended up here. My work decided that they were going to send me my first paycheck via snail mail instead of direct depositing it. Odd. I go to my mailbox and there is no paycheck, instead there was a slip left stating that they "attempted" to deliver it to me. OK, how did you go about this? See, I work from home a few days a week, especially on Fridays when, say, a paycheck would arrive. My work area is not far from my door and not a single knock occurred the whole eight hours I was working from home. Who did you attempt to deliver this to? Were you in the right building, right floor, right door? I get my slip and now have to figure out where the post office even is. Pull in here and it's one of those older non-descript buildings that look more like an old storage building than a post office. Parking is wonky. Inside is very dimly lit, almost feels like you are in an abandoned building. Despite all this, the employees were actually helpful and pleasant for me. Walked up to the counter, handed over my signed slip and finally had my paycheck in hand. Walking out of here I feel as if you were being welcomed back out into the land of the living. read more

Look, I hate giving a bad review to the post office but this location is my very last resort. I go out of my way to avoid here. First, there are only maybe 5 parking spots and if it's full, there isn't really street parking right in front so you have to drive around. But usually I just give up and leave if that happens. If you are lucky to grab a spot, you walk in and it's dark like a cave. There's no self service kiosks so you have to wait in line. The layout is awkward and narrow so sometimes you have to squeeze in front of the people waiting in line in order to get the forms or materials you need, while fellow customers give you dirty looks because they think you're cutting. Other times there's been no line but then no one at the window which is also weird. Then the workers just bark at you as if you're bothering them. read more

Bunch of LAZY and UNINTELLIGENT carriers working there!!! I filled out a hold mail form on December 14th and asked them to forward them on the 28th to another state where I live now. Not ONE letter was forwarded for 3 months! I had to deal with many issues re: late payments due to change in mortgage company (they sent me 3 letters with warnings that I would be having a different company and a different loan account), no tax statement from MD, and no letter from Social Security. I spent a whole week on phone to straighten things out. I was a letter carrier and the process of holding and forwarding mail is really easy. We put red transparency paper on a specific address (it means no longer at this address) and put all hold/forwarded mail in a white bin until it is time to forward them....easy peasy, right? Good pay with POOR service, smh! read more

Extremely fast talker at my counter. She seemed irritated that I didn't understand her and had to ask questions. At the end I asked for my change to be returned as two tens instead of a $20 bill and she "we don't give change, next!". I see why people are going to UPS. I actually as a choice of that for my return. You get better service with competition. Maybe the USPS should go out of "business". read more

I was schedule for redelivery on December 1,2017,they(as in the post office) for some reason reschedule my delivery for December 2,2017 by 8pm. Guess what still no packaged this is a big incovience. read more

This has to be the absolute WORST post office that I have ever had the displeasure of doing business with. On more than several occasions, I have dealt with late deliveries for packages that would literally arrive to the unit itself ON TIME, mind you... And will not be marked for delivery until another two days or so. Some would even be marked for delivery, and still would not arrive as promised until I had to call or file a complaint. In short, nothing would be completed without having to look over their shoulder to see if the job is being done, and within a timely manner. And lastly, the customer service is definitely lacking in professionalism. I had to call today regarding a delayed package. And the present attendant asked me to "Hold" and promptly hung up on me after I proceeded to ask probative questions regarding the whereabouts of my package. Trust me, they hate it when you present facts. Honestly per Dita's comment, I would not be surprised if these so called "people" are trying to pinch some free gifts from our packages. What makes it even worse is that some of our mail could be gifts from others. And only an animal, totally devoid of a conscience, would ever commit such a selfish act. And if this indeed the case, the Better Business Bureau will definitely be hearing about this. In conclusion, this location definitely needs a change in management... And for the better. read more

If I could give a negative star I would. The attitude of the staff members indicate that they do not want to be at their job. They do not enjoy their job therefore they need to make it a point to make the customer miserable as well. I tried to escalate to the Post Master and guess what, she has the same attitude. Now that is where is all stems from, the leadership or lack thereof. Why look at the process that caused an issue when you can just cover it up and act as if you are trying to resolve an issue by telling the customer its not her fault that you have a problem. You just have to wait another 7-10 business days to see if the issue resolves. There is not motivated employees at this location. Service is not a priority. Serving the residents of College Park is not a concern for this location. The worse part of this all is that every other arm of the USPS will always refer you back to this location because it is my local office.......I haven't received all my mail for over 6 months. This is definitely unacceptable. When I recommend this area to anyone the only issue I can advise is for that person to use a PO Box in another post office location of be forewarned that they will not receive any important mail if it is sent through the USPS. read more

This post office constantly steals my mail! They only like to steal luxury items, so if you have something that clearly says a luxury clothing company on the box or a luxury electronic other then the Apple company, you can guarantee that this post office will steal your package. I have had my packages stolen a total of three times at this particular post office. The first way they get away with stealing is because internal sorters that do the mail, confiscate your packages once the mail truck has been dumped for the day. The second way they steal is when they are doing a route that is not their own. They will give you a delivery slip and then tell you that it has been delivered the next day or they will not give you a slip at all and then tell you that the tracking information is incorrect and you did in fact pick up your package. Don't bother go to the management for help, because they are as ghetto and uncouth as they come. The management here is like going to all DMVs combined! Management will take your information and tell you they will investigate the matter and also tell you to ask the merchant to read deliver to you, which basically means "you're not going to find your package so ask for another one!" Your best bet is to not deliver anything to the post office that is worth anything of value. It is literally ran by middle-aged tyrants that feed off of other people's misery. The postal inspector needs to LIVE at this particular location, in order to stop the rampant theft that goes on at this particular College Park, Maryland post office. Don't be surprised if you find yourself reliving the first American scene of "Coming to America", where the USPS postal employees are walking around the neighborhood wearing your clothes and utilizing your products. They need to clean house at this location and get brand-new employees because the management is the worst!!!!!! read more
