Decent cars for a used car lot…read more Got a 2000 Ford Taurus with 111,xxx Miles in January, paid $500/down & $75/week. I will own the car in less than 60 days. I have had to put very minimal money into actual repairs other than replacing a flat tire, having to get a plug & fix a flat for another tire, it's had a few minor other things that required repairs too but with as many miles as I have put on this car it has honestly been an amazing purchase in this regards for sure!! The car is also in very good shape for as old as it is. It has one small rust spot by the back drivers tire but other than that it is on great shape. Even the seats & carpets inside. You can tell it was a one owner car, probably someone older, that took very good care of it!! Don has always been very nice, he is very understanding, as long as you stay in contact with him he will work with you if you are struggling. Definitely my favorite of any used car lot/dealer that I have gotten a vehicle from!!

I asked if he had the thing checked out or knew if there was anything mechanically wrong. They said not that they knew of. Im not afraid of a few fixes and it is a nice looking car so I said I would like to take it to my mechanic to get it looked at. I picked it up today and did that and when I brought it back let him know that the ac issue was an easy fix poor connection but that the engine light was giving readings that were concerning and gave him the printout of the diagnostic. It was then that I began to suspect that maybe the reason that he "didnt know" if there was anything wrong with the vehicle was probably not a lack of information issue because he ripped the printout that I gave him in half and said that he didnt think it was priced too high. This review is not reflective of the ladies working in the office, the vehicle or the pricing but of Don himself who seems to be shady and rude at best. Maybe find somewhere else to buy a car. I will be.

They did tell me I needed an appointment, but luckily squeezed me in because there was a no show. It didn't take long to find I needed a new tire, but it would be the next day before they could get one in. I appreciate the friendly service and that they have a driver who can take you home, but when I picked my Jeep up the next day, I got a few miles down the road and discovered another tire had the same problem. This is where things went a little south. I wished they'd have checked all the tires before sending me off, but not sure if they do that without the customer requesting it. I did have them check the other two just in case and they were fine. Again, tire was not in stock and since it was a Friday, they said it would be in on Monday. I had to call around 3 to find out what was going on and was told the tire just got there. About an hour later, got a call back and said they couldn't find it even though it was marked as delivered. So it would be another day before my car would be finished. Kind of a lot just for a couple replacement tires, but it's fixed now and everything seems to be fine. Like I mentioned earlier, very nice customer service, just maybe lacking a little in efficiency with some other areas of service.

I bought a cream 2008 PT Cruiser from Bob with only 49k miles. The car was sold to me as being "basically new", although over the phone Bob didnt even know if the car on his lot (there are only about 10 cars total) was a base, limited, or touring model. Nevertheless, I drove the 50 miles to come see the car (my mistake). I quickly discovered that the back passenger window didnt work. Bob said he didn't know about that, but he would take $200 off for me to get it fixed. At this point I should have seen all kinds of red flags go up. But I had hitched a long ride to go down there and was kind of stuck. When I got home with the car, I looked closer at the vehicle and noticed that all the scratches in the car were literally "touched up" with white out. Within 24hours of purchasing the car, I called Bob back to let him know I had made a mistake would would like to return the car. He said he doesn't return vehicles and would not work with me. He also told me I had made a great decision on a really good car. Well, this "really good car" didnt last 5K miles (again, i bought it with only 49K) before the engine mount went bad and the lower front control arm bushing broke. Worst purchase decision I have ever made was at Bob's 31 South and I am SO sorry I ever stumbled upon this car and his lot. If something feels bad about this lot when you get there (if you somehow find yourself there) trust your instincts and leave immediately.

Extremely disappointed and dissatisfied!…read more I am a college student who has decided not to take out student loans and pay for my college as I go. I went into the Used Car Factory looking to purchase a new car. My budget was roughly $7,000 and Nick, who was nice at the time, showed me a 2013 Ford Fusion SE with about 71,000 miles on it and said he could sell it to me for $8,500 plus tax. That deal would also come with a 3-month 4,500-mile warranty. He wrote all of this on the back of his business card and I thanked him and left. I got pre-approved for the loan amount that I would need and called Nick the following Monday asking if they had received the title yet for the car so that I could take it to my mechanic to get it looked over. He said that he had not received the title and to remember the price of $8,500 plus tax was firm and non-negotiable. I told him that was not a problem and that I would call again in a couple of days to check the status of the car. That Friday I called and asked to speak with Nick. He was not in but his father, Jim, was. I asked Jim if the title of the car was in yet, at this point it had almost been 2 weeks, and he said no. He then asked what price I was quoted for the car. I repeated what his son Nick had previously said on two occasions, "$8,500 plus tax." Jim then went on to tell me that he could no longer give me that price for the car. He said Nick had no business making that verbal agreement with me, and his wife, who does the financing, would never let it go for so little. He also explained that one of his workers had been driving the car to and from work and said it was totally fine. I said okay and hung up the phone and immediately called my parents and told them what happened. A little later I called back and asked Jim when Nick would be in again. He said Monday and I thanked him and hung up the phone. He then tried calling me back and I did not answer. My dad decided to stop by later that day and asked Jim what was going on and what they could do to mend the situation. Jim told my dad that he could not let the car go for so little and that he could possibly sell it to me for $9,500. My dad said that he would talk to me because he was unsure if I would want to spend that amount on a car, let alone buy a car from them. He also explained to them that I am in college and paying for almost all of my tuition in addition to a car payment. Jim said that if I would have gotten this deal in a written agreement that he would have to honor it. My dad came home and repeated all of this to me to which my response was pulling out a business card from the Used Car Factory with Nick Wheeler's name on the front. On the back of the card, in Nick's handwriting, it reads, "13 Ford Fusion SE, 71K miles, 1 owner, $8,500 + tax, 3 month 4,500 miles warranty." I also told my dad that on Monday Nick had said the price was non-negotiable. My dad was kind enough to drive back over there to show Jim the business card. My dad told Jim, "My kids were raised on their word is their word, their handshake means just as much as any contract. Here is Nick's card with his writing on the back on the deal he made with my daughter. Nick told her the price was non-negotiable but obviously, it is, but only if you want to raise it." Jim threw the card back at my dad saying Nick would call me tomorrow (Saturday). A few days have passed and I have not heard anything from anyone at the Used Car Factory. They can't be trusted on deals that they make. I don't want someone to make the same mistake I did.
