I must say the security guard is awesome, friendly and courteous. The staff here is also nice and as the comments suggests on here, very efficient. The biggest prick in this office is the actual manager that oversees everything. Older Filipino man. Allow me to explain. I was out of town nearly a month ago due to a work related trip and only opened my mail upon return. Which is when I found out I had missed my fingerprinting appt. I called the 800 # enlisted on the letter and also confirmed with this USCIS office, that they can make exceptions if you "just walk in".
TRIP # 1 nearly a month ago:
I showed up at 7.30am (first one in line on a Monday morning WORK DAY!). The off opens at 8.00am. Security guard welcomes the anxious crowd in and allows me to have a seat outside this manager's office. He also stated "you should be fine, we see this happen all the time. You are good". Sure! After all my research and ph calls confirmed the same. The manager comes out and takes me in BUT explained that he wouldn't proceed with it and that I need to reschedule. The biggest dick move was when he proclaimed it takes him 2 minutes to get me "in and out" but he is choosing to not do so. I flat out asked him if it had anything to do with being a Monday and if it was too early. I was very polite and dressed nicely as well. After all it took me nearly 20 years to get to this Citizenship point. He also said it's a minimum 2 hour wait if I wanted it done. He clearly knows rescheduling could take up to a month or more. I negotiated as best as I could with him to help me out. He wouldn't budge.I held my calm and disappointingly walked away and had a horrible drive back to work. I did send in the letter for a reschedule, and it finally arrived within 3 weeks.
TRIP #2:
He had stated back then that he can help anyone that comes in EARLIER than their scheduled time. So once again, I show up at 7.30am, two days before my actual apt time. Keep in mind that work life balance both suffers not to mention sleep time. Again the guard let's the crowd all in and himself is somewhat baffled to see me again and to hear that that prick never did help me the first time around. It gets more interesting. I got to speak to him again and this time, instead of making a plea of some kind, I raised my hands up and said, "I will wait". Despite him telling me that he would take me in if I came in earlier, he pulled this dick move again. He made me wait 1 hour 30 minutes and total time lost today was 3+ hours. He finally calls me in, and then half heartedly apologizes but I kept a poker face and said in a classful manner "I appreciate your help either way". Then out of the blue, his question was "Do you always carry your green card". I answered "Yes". But then I thought it was inappropriate for him to ask and needed to know his motive behind the question. And as soon as I asked, he whips out a huge INS book and reads and shows me a highlighted paragraph citing it's a misdemeanor and a $100 fine for not carrying one. I was VERY alarmed by what was unraveling all along but really at this point I was about to lose my temper BUT still exercised better judgement. You want to note my observations as well while he made me wait in the lobby: he helped females quicker, faster and made exceptions to them and moved them ahead into the queue to the fingerprinting station. One woman came out in tears and she was also escorted nicely to the station. He made exceptions for all the women. Why wasn't I given a ticket # and THEN sat in the queue? Why make me wait, call me in, and then give me a tix # and then make me wait AGAIN! If you are a well dressed confident man with logic and calm, WATCH OUT! This short Filipino manager lacks judgement, character and clearly thinks FEAR is a motivator. How good must his life be to be THIS SALTY? Because this is my one time run in with this man, I held my calm and let him be the "boss". He even said "in your case, it'll take 5-6 months before you get the interview" as his parting words as I exited his room. While the girls at the fingerprint station told me it can happen very quickly and as early as a month and were nicer/professional! Why the need to rub salt in my wounds after my 2nd experience here and wasted time? Why be such a dick! The crew that actually takes the fingerprints/biometrics are very cool. And from what I "hear" back there and the whispers, this dood has serious personality issues. The previous manager was a lot better from the feedback I got. This guy has been a prick on all levels here. In case someone else experiences what I did, please share! This guy LOVES his "power" & torturing. he clearly thinks HE IS THE LAW and wants you to "beg" for his mercy. Total time spent here today 7:30am - 10.15am. Got to work at 11am! WOW! I hope this prick retires soon and takes a vacation or at least get laid! He walks around with a stick up his.. Making my 2nd trip miserable was intentional an unprofessional. ASSHOLE! read more
