Today 6/30 I went with my mom to get some finger prints and photos taken and the African American lady didn't let me in . Mind you I went to be my mom's translator she said step aside only one person can go in and turns out my mom went inside there and she did need a translator she was lying . I even asked the lady before she went inside there if there was a translator and she said yes. Such a lier and had an attitude. If you don't like your job don't work in places like this . Biometric staffs were very nice, starting from the gentlemen that checked us in. And the lady who did the prints for my friends was very polite... thank you! My review today with the one star is for the security woman that gave out numbers for everyone at the door... very rude, at least to us and one other person from my observation. When we arrived at the building was around 10:45AM. We formed a line outside the door because there were three sets of the retractable belt stanchions blocked off the door being reachable, with a sign that says to wait behind the yellow line for access, so everyone did. The guard came out and started to check paper for everyone and gave out numbers. We got our number and went inside and we stood around for a bit. No one was behind us, and all of a sudden a rude voice said "HELLO! Go take a seat". I got your hello, rude ass person! She could have said, please take a seat, or did you have a question? She didn't know why we stood there and didn't take a seat. As I waited there with my friends, the rude person walked over to a person that was sitting two seats behind me and pointed onto the clipboard and said a bunch of stuffs; I pretty much tuned her voice out so don't know what she said to that person. Few moments later the rude person walked back and forth cross the room... then she went to another elder guy in the room and asked if he opened the front door and entered, and the guy said yes, then she said 'you're not supposed to open that door, I'm supposed to open that door and let you in". After that she turned and walked away, left the guy there; he looked really confused. As he started to walk toward the exit (I guess he wanted to try entering again with her opening the door to let him in), she stopped him by talking very loud again and told him just wait right here. I agree if she was doing her job by putting the retractable belt stanchions back on and closed the door behind her, then the guys would have to stay outside and wait for her to come out to let him in. Maybe she just closed the door and didn't put the barriers back on so a normal person approaching a normal closed door is to reach to open and enter the building. The sign that said to wait behind the yellow line was on the barrier belt; not taped on the front door. Without the sign is not that guy's fault that he entered the building on his own... She already pissed me off by "Helloing" me to sit down, then she had to talk super loud to embarrass the guy. Today is Tuesday, March 28, 2023. This all happened around 11:00AM in the morning. The guard was a dark skin female, with a mask on. My advise for this guard is, if you find yourself with no heart to help people, don't work there. People that walk through that door are not criminals. Treat people with respect perhaps you'll be looked at as a beautiful person with respect in return. As a lawful US Citizen, my advise to the person in charge of this USCIS facility, please train all your staff, including the security guards (if they're under you; if not, change company). This person is the first person we see when we enter the unit, and my first impression of your unit today is not impressive. USCIS should be a proud unit of our country. Today her bad attitude is a reflection of your leadership. Please work on improving it! read more

We had an appointment at 1pm, however, we had prior commitments to go somewhere else around the same time. We decided to take a shot and see if they would take us in earlier. We went there at 11am and the security asked if we had an appointment and if we could show her the notice which we did. No questions were asked and she let us in and we were out of there at 11:15am. Cannot stress how great they were inside as well, you would never think a govt agency being that efficient and understanding. My brother's fingerprint collection notice was delivered to my home by the postman yesterday afternoon, but when I opened the letter, it was an appointment for that afternoon. So he missed his appointment. Tried to call the USCIS department last night, and no one answered the call after several transfers. So we are going to come to ASC today to see if we can walk in. The result was good. We explained the reason to a girl who helped check in at the door, and she kindly told us that she could let us in. I really can't thank her enough. Honestly, I was expecting a DMV type situation with crazy long wait times and rude service. My expectations could not have been farther from the truth! While the American immigration process can be grueling and unpredictable, don't fret! The people here welcome you with friendly smiles and open arms. Just what we all need trying to make a living in this country as a foreigner. I was probably in and out within 10 minutes or less. Maybe my situation was unique to my specific application, but I had the smoothest experience nonetheless. You walk in and are immediately greeted by the guard to verify your USCIS biometrics appointment letter and ID. He gives you a numbered ticket and one sheet of paper to fill out with personal information. You fill it out and before you know it the receptionist calls your number up and she does a little paperwork and sends you to the biometrics area. I didn't even have a second to sit down before the sweet biometrics lady (no idea what her real title is) called me over to take my photo and fingerprints. The photo lasts for 10 years on your next green card so she kindly let me redo it just in case. Before I knew it I was on my way! The office is wonderfully air conditioned and the bathrooms are very clean. What more could you ask for? read more

First of all, if you have henna/dye on your fingers that is ok. You do not need to remove it. This place is quick and helpful. My wife got sick in the parking lot and couldn't go in so the guard there gave us two bottles of water and said it would be ok if you come back when healthy. We didn't believe initially and we were struggling but the guard assured us with his manager. We went back and it took us just about 15 minutes. read more

Quick and easy and very friendly staff! Adequate parking in the lot outside. We had our biometric appointment in may 2021, social distancing was followed from the line outside to the seating inside. You wait for your number to be called, they verify your docs and take your photo and fingerprints. We were out in 20 minutes. The staff here are really courteous and helpful except one asian lady. I really could not understand what she was saying. I asked her politely if she can say it again. She became annoyed and aggitated. She then became rude. She accused me of tampering her machine with my finger while the machine is scanning. This is highly disrespectable and not a way to treat a human being. At the end she submitted my fingerprints with lot of scan warnings.. my spouse had another person who was nice, courteous and made sure he rescanned the fingers if there are warnings. The shortest review ever... I have an appointment set at 11am. I was assisted by the receptionist right away, gave me a form to fill out. Waited for about 5 minutes. My number was called and was helped by a very pleasant lady. Are you sure this is a government agency?It didn't seem like it. She was bubbly and friendly! The whole process was a breeze!!! Big big thanks to the professional and kind hearted people, that work at this office. I had a situation when my baby delivery was scheduled at the same day as my biometrics appointment day. I went there 3 business days before with doctor's certificate, to try to ask if it's possible to get it done earlier, since delivery could happen any day now. I went there 30 min before they open the office, I was the first in line, but little bit later there were more than 10 people in line. We explained our situation to security guard at the door and she was so professional and kind hearted to listen to us, checked our papers, passed the message to personnel inside the office. Just such an amazing person. She offered me even a chair after knowing that I am only few days away from delivery and made us feel comfortable. Heartwarming and pleasant experience. Car burglaries are very common in Oakland even though people are moving around these incidents are happening. My family and me are direct victims of car-burglary who lost 2 laptop bags with MacBook, cellphone, Cash, PASSPORTS, ORIGINAL EDUCATIONAL DOCUMENTS, SSN, etc. The parking lot is filled with full of car window/trunk's broken glass pieces. The same day 3-5 Car burglary happened in 8450 Edgewater Dr, Oakland, CA 94621 along with ours. My passenger seat window and SVU trunk glass was broken by unknown people and took away my laptop bags & valuables. I am sharing this BAD incident so that NO other person should experience this situation and please be careful in Oakland location. read more

Showed up at 11:15am for a 12pm appointment. Was attended to immediately. I was a bit worried that I won't be allowed to take my phone and would have to keep it at a restaurant nearby. However, they were fine with my having a phone as long as it was switched off and I didn't take it out of my pocket. The staff was super nice and friendly. Awesome experience!! we Had travel plans so visited one week earlier than the actual scheduled appointment. Lady at the door checked the appointment document and listened to the reason, we showed the tickets/reservations as well showing why we needed to do it early, she went inside and came back with an appointment time of 45 mins later. Everyone is amazing. Except... The one Asian lady who treats you as if you are begging for a green card. I had missed filling out country of citizenship and the front receptionist graciously filled it out for me. BUT the Asian lady ridiculed me for missing it, she got annoyed and spoke as if I am a worthless person. 4 stars for every other staff there who were super courteous. The Asian lady needs serious therapy. For someone who herself has immigrated here and has gone through the process, she has the least empathy for anyone. I read other reviews here as well which are similar when it comes to the Asian lady. She is misplaced among otherwise an excellent staff. read more

My visit was fast and smooth, everyone was courteous and helpful up until we got to the fingerprinting booth. I was there with my 7-year-old's appointment. the lady taking her picture was very rude and ignorant. She was not talking loud enough for my kid to hear, and then she would act disgusted and make faces when my kid didn't follow her instructions. She was expecting a 7-year-old child to know all the procedures and everything. I'm thinking of filing a formal complaint against her. I will find the proper channel and take up my grievance with them. During my previous visits, I had never faced such an issue. This experience was unusual and left a terrible taste in my mouth. read more

It's perhaps unusual to give a government agency five stars, but compared to state agencies like DMV, this is extremely well run, and rather boring (which is the point). I turned up for my Biometrics appointment (I'm going to become a US Citizen), at 12.45 for a 1pm appointment - the guard put me in the queue right away. After filling in some short paperwork, and a little wait, I got moved to the second section for finger prints and photo. And that was pretty much it - about 25 minutes total, and out. As expected, most of the people here were Asian, Hispanic and various other countries. Very few Caucasians. The reality is that I expect my process, as a white, middle-class male from a country on good terms with the US to be very straight forward. I'm sure that's not the case for many others. Came here to get my biometrics done and it ended up being a surprisingly pleasant experience. NOTES: ~ If you're taking public transportation, take the BART to Oakland Coliseum / Airport Station. Then take the 98 going Counterclockwise. It should stop right across the street. Customer Service: I'm not sure if I had a different guard than other reviewers, but I thought he was brilliant. I showed him my documents and he thanked me for being so prepared and was very helpful with explaining the process to me. Damn, it was a fucking *guard* as well I didn't know guards were trained in customer service and reception. Additionally, the lady who did my fingerprints were very pleasant too. She was very helpful and also super efficient. I waited for maybe only about 15 minutes total before I was on my way back home! --- Overall, I'm thoroughly impressed considering how typically, government-run centers require hours of waiting and is an absolute hellhole (cough DMV cough). However, everyone at the USCIS Application Support Center was kind, courteous, and quick with their work. Originally, I was pretty upset when all the appointments in the San Francisco building were booked through late in the month and didn't want to go to East Oakland for my errands, but I'm actually pretty glad it worked out this way! read more

Location: 5S Cleanliness: 5S Efficiency: 5S We had a biometric appointment at 8AM. We arrived at 7:30AM as the notice said to arrive 15minutes early. We were the second car in the large parking lot. We waited in the car and started to notice people lining up so we followed suit and was the fourth in line. The security guard opened the door exactly at 8AM. He also informed everyone to make sure they have all their necessary paperwork and documentation out to speed up everyone's process. He also asked everyone to shut-off their mobile phones even though the sign clearly said NO phones. We walked through, showed our documentation, filled out the simple one sheet that was given to us on a clipboard with a number. Even though we were first to complete the form, we had to wait until our number was called. The lady called us up and double-checked our information then asked us to sit at the next section and wait for our number to be called. When the second section called us, she briefly looked over our paperwork and asked if we had a second appointment for the Travel Documentation but we did not. She said told us that's up to the Agency, she guesses. She proceeded to get the fingerprints and picture. We then were asked to fill out a questionnaire on their office, which we gave them all 5-stars. Overall, it took us about 25minutes. Went back home and slept to make up for waking up at 645am. Fast, efficient and the way it should always be. I think this office is new. Highly recommended? LOL. Like you have a choice. I do though! read more

Getting here via public transportation requires BARTing into Oakland coliseum, taking a bus and walking a couple of blocks. Went to do bio-metrics (finger print) at this center this morning for I-485. My appointment was schedule at 7/9/2015 Wednesday but I can't make it that day so I walk-in today( 7/2/2015). The guard took me to the supervisor's office and she asked me the reason and agreed. All the staff are very friendly. Wait time is less than half an hour. Everything went very smooth.
