Not only did they not accept credit cards, but they charged me 35 cents to use my debit card.

Whether you're adventurous, or want to be on beach that you don't feel like you're at "crowded…read moregeneric beach USA" Honestly. This place may be well known. But a person could go everyday. For life, and not see 90% of it. Great for family beach outings. Really. Safe, beautiful, and gigantic. You cannot go wrong. I haven't even mentioned the hiking and camping. Don't pass by this place. Stop and see for yourself.

We decided to visit Leo Carrillo State Beach because my best friend loved the ocean, and after…read morelosing him, it felt right to be somewhere by the water. We wanted to try something new--somewhere we hadn't been before. I wouldn't call it a mistake, but it just wasn't what I expected. This beach has a very different vibe compared to the typical Malibu spots I'm used to. There were a lot of rocks, uneven areas, and graffiti murals around, which gave it more of a rugged, almost hidden feel rather than that clean, classic Malibu experience. It wasn't a "we came, we saw, we stayed" kind of place for me. It ended up being more like "we came, we saw, and we left." Not because it's bad--it's just different, and maybe not what I needed in that moment.Still, being near the ocean meant something. I thought about him the whole time. My best friend loved the beach, and even though this wasn't my favorite spot, it felt important to be there in his memory.Sometimes it's not about the place--it's about who you're carrying with you.

Wow! Cal and Greg used to be mechanics here and they were legendary!! They were great and knew how…read moreto fix everything!! I am sad to be reading these reviews now! Any locals know what happened to Cal and Greg? I know Andre has been at the bank so long, he probably runs it now!

Yesterday my friend and I stopped here for snacks to take to the beach. We walked inside with his…read moreservice dog (ACTUAL service dog - he wears a vest and is for a medical condition that he alerts his owner to if any action needs to be taken) - and we were RUDELY yelled at by the guy behind the counter about "NO DOGS ALLOWED" - when we tried to explain to him that Sage (the dog) was a legitimate service dog, we had paperwork, and he was not to be separated from his owner, we were all but thrown out of the station. We were cursed at and even had another customer say "if he's not blind it's not a service dog" - sage saved his owners LIFE daily. So I have filed a complaint with the American disability association and will be taking this to a legal authority. You cannot treat people this way - you discriminated against someone by telling them their service animal (ONCE AGAIN, legitimate service animal - wears a vest and has paperwork, alerts to life threatening changes in his owners blood sugar), and that is just not okay. I want to make sure this NEVER happens to anyone again, as my friend felt so incredibly down. You have no idea what someone has been through - walk a mile in someone else's shoes. I will do what I have to to make sure you never treat another customer this way. Shame on you and this entire establishment.
