It actually could be a bad thing. Limiting is a word. Intelligence, solid energy, and integrity... these are of great importance. That said, if there's no integrity the other two don't matter. Single parents are making huge sacrifices to go to school, so they do not have to depend on government assistance and then you gaslight them, making them feel bad because they have obligations. School is first, I'm sorry, children are first and always will be. Did you forget about DCFS, if you don't take care of your kids they will. We want parents to strive for success and not sabotage their career by adding another hurdle in the way of supporting their kids on their own. I read another negative yelp on respiratory therapy after I posted mine. My hope this helps single parents who are searching for a career about their decision to attend this school for respiratory therapist. I also hope it changes the direction and focus of the school to help support our future. This is a technical school to learn a trade and it can be costly to choose this route. This is one of those reviews "if I can give negative stars", I would types. I've already emailed both Chris Becker and Megan Clifton earlier this year and no one has responded. I've listened and did everything Nicole and my instructors told me to do and still had a difficult time passing my boards and finding a job. I've got no response when emailing them for help, but they (Nicole and Platt college) expect me to respond to their surveys. It just felt like half of the cohort I was with were failing. I won't say what year I finished. I know I'll be gaslit. So onto what I discovered. I googled the pass rate for this school. Imagine my glee when I saw the abysmal performance. If you don't trust me, search "Respiratory Care Board pass rates" and you should eventually find a pdf document with the pass rates for this school and other campuses. I'll attach an image illustrating what I saw.  If you got 50-60% on a test, you would fail right? But these guys who were getting BELOW the state AVERAGE for the past few years get to keep their job. I like to remind you that I informed Chris Becker (the college president) of this. Basically about half of the students who attend this school for respiratory therapy end up becoming licensed respiratory practitioners. I will admit that I'm writing this with a little bit of bitterness. Imagine the staff with roughly a 50% pass rate telling you you're not knowledgeable enough. I honestly think this school is brought the state average down lol. In the end, numbers don't lie.

I would not recommend this class because the instructor was horrible. Me and 2 other students did…read morenot pass the exam. But before we took the exam, me and those two other students were talking about how we weren't confident about taking the exam because of the instructor and her horrible confusing teaching. The instructor, which I'm guessing is the business owner, was 10 minutes late to the class and then she started the class an hour late and only checking in like six students. There were barely any students there. So an hour of teaching time was wasted because she was lollygagging. As the instructor sat down to start teaching the class, she kept stopping to text message somebody and I don't know if it was her boyfriend, but she had a huge smile on her face, Every time she was texting somebody. She did not answer questions that I had for her. She kept saying that those questions weren't necessary to answer because they weren't on the test. I paid almost $400 to take that class. I would much appreciate if you answer the questions that I have, regardless, if it's on the test or not. And then, when I finally passed the exam after having to take it a second time and after having to purchase an online Notary course by EZ Notary. I spoke to the owner on the phone and asked how can I get the rest of my supplies which is a journal, my bond and my seal. She said I would have to pay for the shipping since I don't live around there and I'm not willing to go get it in person to pick up the supplies. Her team or her emailed me the invoice for the shipment, it was $31, just to ship my bond and then I would have to pay for a second shipment for the rest of my supplies. Talk about ripping students off. Another thing is you have to pay for parking. when I called before I placed the order I asked her assistant or her front desk person do I have to pay for parking, he said no that we can get it validated for you. But nobody wanted to validate the ticket unless you bought something in that building. The parking was $20. Do not pay to take the in person class and do not pay for any other Notary course from her. She is a horrible instructor. I would not waste your time or your money. There is a much better chance passing the exam through someone else online course. Good luck!

I learned stuff that I think EVERYONE should learn - about aging, death, the business of care, and how, more often than not, money drives medical care at all places (hospitals, skilled nursing, assisted living, etc). I even learned about Medicare, Medi-Cal, and several diff programs to help people pay for care. Paul and Vanessa are so so knowledgeable and have such huge hearts.
