This is a huge central post office hub. Latest mail Dropoff anywhere, period. You can get out…read moreovernight mail up until 6pm, you can drop late mail until 8:15pm and still have it go out that day with that day's date/time stamp. The place is spacious, clean, and the clerks are helpful and know their stuff because this is the biggest distribution center in the Utah/Idaho region. If you are a serious mailer, or a serious procrastinator, you have got to have this place dialed in.

When you send it back this way, and the company on the other end does not want to pay for the shipping to get that product back, their "policy" it to throw it in the trash!! And you will be out the product and your money. I went to the post office to speak with the Manager About training his representatives better. He said they did it 100% correctly and that he also would have sent the package back in the same way. But in the same sentence, he said that they have an agreement and it is their policy that when that happens, they just trashed the item even though your name is clearly on the package and you told them it was worth $90.. So I called the postmaster General in Las Vegas and he backed them up 100% and said they did everything correctly. Just how hard would it have been for someone to say we can send it back that way however this could happen to you. I mean you got a job with the government agency and you can't speak that sentence? They were the ones who told me to send it back that way, knowing that they have this stinky policy that would allow them to throw your package in the garbage and you just lose your hundred dollar bill. I just want everyone out there to know that USPS Has this hideous policy and they stand behind it 100%!!! so never listen to the representative behind the counter and do not ever allow them to talk you into refusing the package!! All they had to do was insure it, or pay for the shipping to return it so that I would get the package back when they it or just tell me about this heinous SECRET policy that they have and then I could make an informed decision about how I wanted to mail it back. And then to be so unsympathetic, and so nonchalant that they would tell me, yes, we have the authority to trash. Your property is absurd! No wonder they are going bankrupt!!! And using our tax dollars to do it! If I could've given zero stars, I would have.

The package contained my medication which I only discovered to be the wrong medication after I opened it. I called the Sender who said to return the package which I did or at least attempted to do at this Post Office. A lone male employee who was serving with two fellow female employees at the front desk served me. He took a look at the package box and said I had to pay for the return shipment because I had opened the box. I told him I only discovered the medication to be the wrong one only after I opened it and that I had spoken to the Sender, who had also furnished the return label. This male employee whose tone of voice is so authorotative and sound so demeaning, insisted I still had to pay for the shipment. MY POINT IS THAT - I HAD TO OPEN THE BOX TO CHECK THE MEDICATION WHICH I ONLY DISCOVERED TO BE THE WRONG MEDICATION - WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE RETURN SHPMENT? To make this review short, I took the package to another Post Office and the readily accepted it without any fuss. I just think this male employee was RACIST judging from how he handled my service. Nobody deserves this kind of treatment. It seems as though the USPS right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. Absolutely no consistency in your service. FedEx delivered a box downstairs by the mailboxes. They didn't bring it to my 4th floor apartment. I don't know if they have to or not. Either way the mailman saw me struggling with the big box approximately 35 lb. He stopped what he was doing and brought it to my fourth floor apartment, he was given permission to do this. I wish I could have tipped him but I don't carry cash so I hope this helps him in some way. He couldn't have done it without the lady's permission that was timing him. So I want to thank both of them. It means so much to me. I'm 67 years old and disabled. This was Washington Street Salt Lake City Utah. Thank you so much for your wonderful postal Service. They went above and beyond. Thank you for your kind and caring employees. Your regular postman for this area is a very kind and sweet man also. I have a QR code for them to print a pre-paid label, so I would have been out of there by 5:30 if the doors weren't locked. If I could leave 0 stars, I would. It does not have a stamp machine, for whatever reason. I'm guessing it was there once (there is a space for it) but they pulled it out due to the area. I really hate to pile on, given how much DeJoy has managed to take a wrecking ball to the service generally, but there are a couple things of note. The first is that they do not handle large packages well and have now lost 2 of mine. Small packages are evidently easier to keep track of, I guess. The second thing is that most of the staff does not know how to wear a mask correctly and they generally seem a lot like they're not taking COVID particularly seriously.
