Overall extremely frustrating experience, and still haven't even gotten the package yet.

Leigh ( clerk) did not know where / why he left. Didn't seem too interested in finding out. She called him to which no eta was given. Jon showed up an hr after scheduled appt to assist us. We had called savoy to go there and were informed the office on Mattis is basically unreliable for this service. 2 of us missed worked time thanks to Jon being careless bout our time and our scheduled appt .

This USPS location stays open latest in the Champaign-Urbana area. Mail gets picked up for sorting…read moreas late as 7:00pm here. All mail from a hundred miles around gets sent here for sorting. Mail a letter from your address in Urbana to your neighbor down the street...your letter comes here first for sorting. This location is also the only one in the area with a self-serve shipping kiosk, which can do the work of about four USPS employees.

There must be something in their union agreement about only being allowed to help 6 customers an hour. No urgency whatsoever. Today, I ventured to the post office in Savoy. Despite living in Champaign this location is closest to our new home. Walked in and there were only a couple of people in line. No biggy, as this gave me time to look at their greeting cards. They were helped as quickly as possible. Yay! I was just there to check-in a package that I already had postage on, so my transaction was easy peasy. Will most definitely be back; maybe just for greeting cards. They had a lot of fun ones.

Went in to apply for a passport, no wait, especially if you get there at 9:30 am when they start doing passports. The woman told me they do get several people a day applying. The process did not take long, as long as you fill out the application in black ink only at home. Married folks who changed your last name, don't forget to bring your marriage certificate as well as your birth certificate, folks without name change, just birth certificate. As long as you have all the necessary documents, you won't be there very long. They take your photo also. Which was great, especially since they know what is acceptable and not for the photo versus going to cvs and it being to shiny or something. Love this post office, they have the friendliest staff.

Horrible service. Everyone seems like they hate their job there and are extremely rude. Last time I…read moregot scorned at for not having a box for my item when it said I didn't need one. Today, a young lady unpacked every item in the 6 boxes I brought and said I need to take the boxes back with me. I explained to her I got yelled at last time for not having a box so I always bring my item back in one now and she continued to be rude and unpackaged my items. Horrible service almost every time I've been here. Not I have all these boxes broken up having to carry them to my car by myself. People like this should not be in customer service. Will look for another drop off location and I hope you do the same.
