On September 11, 2026, a carrier arranged by Safe Ship Moving transported our household goods…read moreapproximately 3.5 miles within Tucson to a newly constructed, previously unoccupied custom home. Although Safe Ship Moving had received the same inventory and move information from the beginning, it increased the price by approximately $`1,500 during the week of the move. In my opinion, this amounted to a bait-and-switch pricing tactic. Safe Ship Moving operated as a third-party booking company rather than the carrier that performed the move, and I found its bidding practices neither transparent nor ethical. The assigned crew also failed to use adequate protection for the walls, floors, corners, staircase and furniture. Portions of the master bed frame, including its corner pads and upper headboard posts, were not properly padded. During delivery, the crew caused gouges, scrapes and impact damage to the stairwell walls, ceiling, upstairs pony wall, wooden stair landings and related staircase components. Because the residence is covered by a new-construction builder warranty, the damage must be evaluated and repaired by the builder's authorized contractors. This damage was preventable and would likely not have occurred had standard protective materials and careful moving practices been used. I am seeking reimbursement for all inspections, repairs, replacements, labor and materials required to restore the home. Photographs, builder estimates, invoices, moving documents and correspondence have been retained. Based on the last-minute `$1,500 price increase, third-party booking arrangement, inadequate property protection and resulting damage, I cannot recommend Safe Ship Moving.
