I introduce to you the LAZIEST, RUDEST, most USELESS USPS "employee" in existence. 95% of USPS employees are useless. Is this the best you can do? Pathetic. This one, though. Worried more about her X-Men fingers than taking care of customers. Customer next to me asked a few simple questions and she refused to answer. She was rude as hell to the customers before, too. She just kept reading the prompts and didn't answer one question. Last time I was at this location, she did my certified mail. Tried to, I should say. It came back to me weeks later. During the process, I asked to confirm what she was doing was correct because it seemed off. She responded, "shut up I know what I'm doing." She's disgusting. She doesn't wear a name tag because she knows everybody will report her. Useless sack of garbage. USPS can't do any better than this? PATHETIC. She's lazy, miserable, gross, and hates her life. Why the hell is she working a counter anywhere? Scumbag. The dude next to her was nice and very helpful. Poor guy has to work with this gremlin every day. I don't know how he does it. read more

Missing incoming mail from this post office always involve invitations, birthday cards, anything that may look like it includes gift cards, or anything that looks like it includes payment or personal information like SS#'s, birth dates, bank information. Also, the same type of mail items get "lost" when it is outgoing; mailed from this post office. The postmaster tells me they are "sorting errors". This nefarious activity only seems to have happened in the past year. read more

In comparison to the past, the post office employees at the Schererville and Dyer locations seem to lack a strong work ethic. When customers require assistance with mailing packages, the employees appear to be disinterested and give the impression that they are doing the customers a favor, rather than fulfilling their job duties. It does not get any dumber than the workers here. I tried to send something certified mail. I put everything in their hands. I ask if I need additional postage, they say nope you're good and take my envelope and send it. I get the letter sent back a while later for lack of postage. Mind you, TWO workers were "helping" me. How on Earth do TWO workers at the POST OFFICE not know how to send mail!? Mind boggling. read more

It's the worst post office in the area. Employees are bullies, they don't answer the phone and they don't take responsibility for issues that are their fault. In the age of technology and with the instant gratification of E-mail, I hardly ever go to the post office anymore, maybe 3 or so times a year. Inevitably though, we all wind up going into a USPS for one reason or another. What to say about the Schererville branch... It's normally not too too busy here, the office is pretty darn clean and they are usually fairly stocked up on your necessary mailing supplies. The staff is pretty helpful too, if it's not out front and you need it they'll go outta the way to check the back for more. I do have to say though, mind the door... it's a bit slow to open so don't walk too fast. Great Post Office over all. read more

Asked for help from the postal worker in my complex at Sherwood Lakes because I havnt been able to get my packages out of the mail box and she said it wasn't her route today and she couldn't help me .I have left a note in my mailbox for almost a week with the key to put it in another large box because I couldn't get it open I need those packages and they aren't doing anything!!!!!! Every time I go I usually have no issues except with one man, always tries to upcharge my packages won't let me take a photo of package after I paid for postage. Tonight when I questioned why there is always an extra charge when I see him he called for his supervisor and when I asked him to lower his voice that he was embarrassing me he told me no. I like coming here more than the merrillville location. I sell a lot of jewelry and artwork I make on etsy. I do need to ship off quite often. The merrillville location is busy no matter what time I get there. Usually the line is almost near the door. I cannot even begin to count the number of times it's taken me over 20 minutes to get to the register. I've really enjoyed how speedy it is in the Schererville location. They are busy but also seem to be quicker and have more help. The workers are not rude like I feel they have been in merrillville. I even call them on the phone to ask about postage on different weights because sometimes I just need to use 2/4 stamps. They have never been short with me. I really don't like going to any post office but I would say its one of the better locations. read more

Worst post office I've ever been to. The employees have no regard for service and are beyond disrespectful to their customers. Today I had to stand in line for 45min (got back online 3 times) because the lady working was lazy beyond belief... After my 3rd time she still refused to help so I went to the FedEx store instead. I also witnessed a couple during this same visit stand in line multiple times due to the same lady... They were there longer than I was so more than 45min... They were renewing their passports. When they got to the front of the line, it was 3:02pm. She immediately looked at them and said "we stop doing passports at 3pm." Beyond disrespectful... It would have taken them 1 minute to sign off on their papers. I will never give my money to this location again. I suggest you don't even waste your time going here. read more

I recently sent packages from this post office again and I am always impressed how they take care of customers very quickly.

Absolutely horrible. Very rude staff, and always understaffed. I can't go here and ever come out within 2 minutes. There is always a line that moves slow as molasses because there is only one person working. This was on a weekday at 12 noon, and yes only one person working. Absolutely horrible post office. This post office is absolutely ridiculous! They cannot even deliver mail to business's that are located pretty much across the street from them! If our normal mail man does not work, We have such a hard time receiving our mail! As I was walking to the mailbox to check, I saw the mailman driving across the street and as I retrieved the mail there was a " Sorry we missed you" letter in the box for a package! PLAIN F_LAZY if you ask me! I could understand if they were on a waling route but OMG they drive and they couldn't get out of their vehicle on a Saturday to walk into an air conditioned building to drop off a package! I have been using the Schererville location for 5 years then I had to close my business but several months ago I started it up again just like in the past as it is now they are the best. They know you by name they take great care of you but most important they take care of your packages. Having shipped over 3500 items through that Post office at Eagle Ridge in Schererville I had 1 thats right just 1 mishap and even with that 1 the problem was addressed and the item was found and delivered. I know how everyone loves to call out the USPS no matter who is at fault but when they do a great job someone needs to let the people know. Don't even try to get a passport here! The hours are always changing , Saturdays are insane. Says passport hours are between 10-12, well it's 10:30 there is a massive line of people and the haven't started. And don't bother trying to call no one answers. read more

This has been on going for over a month. I have been living here for 2 months. I live in a apartment. Now for each apartments we have a box to receive mail. Letter sized box. I make purchases and sell more then your average tenants. For bigger items being received they have a bigger box. When you receive a item of larger size the postal work will leave a key in your letter box for the bigger box. The problem started with the locking system for the larger item box. The key didn't work. The lock is malfunctioning. I told the postal worker about it because my package sat in that box for over a week. The postal worker asked me for the key to the larger box. Since the key didn't work I placed the key back in the box. Well I was accused by the postal worker of taking the key. So for a week my package sat in the box. Until after me telling them I need that package someone from the office met me at the box. The person opened the door to all boxes. What did we find in my box the key they said I took. During my interaction with the person I went to the wrong box. And of coarse the key didn't work. Making me look stupid. So today I have 3 boxes waiting. I went to the correct box with the key that was labeled with the box number. Guess what the key doesn't work. I called them to notify them and again looking stupid the lady accused me of going to the wrong box. I have never in my 46 years have had and experience like this with the post office. The level of professionalism is the lowest I have ever seen. To push the blame on me, is the most childish act. I would not take a key that is used by others to get their packages. I am to the point of going over them and talk to the head postman of this area. Poor attitude brings poor practices. read more

I like coming here when I need to ship out ebay items or purchase money orders. The staff is friendly and helpful. The facility is clean and well lit, and they have all their forms and boxes well stocked. Plus, there's an automatic kiosk next to the drop box, so if there's a long line, that's always an option. read more

So today I walk into the post office to check my po box for a package I've been waiting for, an envelope with expensive signed 8x10 pictures. I open my box and instead of them putting a key to a large box in it, some idiot there jams the entire envelope in it and guess what, each and every picture has a crease in them. I would highly suggest to never have anything like this sent to this location if you have a box because obviously they don't give a damn about what you have and the envelope clearly said in bold red letters "DO NOT BEND" but they must not have been able to read. I mean who shoves a 9x11.5 envelope into a tiny ass po box. I will most likely cancel my box at the garbage location and go elsewhere. This is horses****. If these idiots that work here had any bit of common sense, this would and should have never happened but they apparently dont! read more
