If I ever wanted to be disappointed in a service it would be the USPS in Ridgewood. The people that work there are completely unprofessional. The second you bring an issue to them calmly they start talking loudly and acting defensive. They come up with a bunch of excuses. They don't understand what you tell them half the time. If they don't feel like delivering your packages they mark down that a delivery was attempted and never leave you a slip just to come back early and go home. This is the worst post office that I've ever seen in my entire life and I've seen a lot. This post office needs to be under new management and fire all the workers that are there because they too don't care. Worst parcel delivery service!!! Notice left, read: (No Secure Location Available)...when I was home that day, waiting for more then one package, from different carriers (UPS, FedEx). UPS and FedEx rang my bell, but not USPS, USPS left the above notice. I called the station that day, and request that the package be left at the station, for pick up. After several hours have past, I check USPS tracking information, it read this time: available for pick up. I went the next day, to pick it up, and the Indian lady whose name I don't know how to spell, but is always at the pick up window, gave me paper to write my tracking number on, and said -"I will ask the driver for your package". Apparently, the driver did not leave my package or was never informed to leave my package, after the request was made. The next day, just out of curiosity, I check USPS.COM Tracking and Product Information again, and it read this time: Delivered, Front Door/Porch at 1:13 pm. I was home and my bell was never rung. So I went outside, to see if my package was there, and it wasn't. So I called the station and Fino answered, I believe that's how you spell his name. Without him looking for my package, he said -"your package was delivered". Logic! "If your reading what was said, would I be calling". Is what I wanted to say, but instead I asked -"Did you look"? And he replied -"I will ask the driver". Did he asked the driver??? Who knows. Because, according to him, the driver said -that he rung the bell, and someone said -I'll be right out, leave the package. This is a 2 family house, with one working bell (mine), if he/she would have rung my bell, I wouldn't tell this person to leave my package, I would have come out to received it. If the front of my home is not a secure location, the first time, why would you leave my package this time!?! Well guess what, I have a video surveillance system, that records crisp, clear videos, and their driver never made the delivery. Shame on all of you for lying!!! WHERE'S MY PACKAGE??? read more

Terrible post office. Waited in line 40 minutes. Many people ahead of me left in anger. One guy was yelling. I had a print out saying I could do what I needed to do at their post office, but I was told I could only do that with a manager and the manager wasn't there. The women in charge (who was extremely rude) couldn't tell me when a manager would be there. Yikes. Will do everything I can to avoid going there! read more

I have a regular parcel post driver on my route and i have to say that he is the best professional employee delivering spr's our to Ridgewood Station. He was off on a Friday and someone else never came to house and stated that he rang the bell, left a notice and left. When i came home a half hr later i saw no sticker and was told no one ever rang the bell. I have a 3 family house where someone is always home. Then i requested to have it redelivered the next day which was on a Saturday and got a text stating that the business was closed. I live in a private house in a residential neighborhood. I called and was told by a supv. that he probably never attempted to ever deliver my package. Now i'm gonna go all the way to have this waste of a letter carrier suffer disciplinary actions not matter what it takes here. A notice was left. I went to pick up my package and the teller looks at my ID, shakes her head and says "we don't have it." She didn't turn around, didn't ask anyone, just a "nope come back later." If that gem of customer service doesn't say it all, I don't know what does. read more

The staff is really rude and not helpful. I went there to get a money order and certified return receipt and the lady wanted to charge both things separately and give me two fees using my debit card because she didn't want to put it in the same bill. So I left and went to another post office and they put everything in one bill without a problem. I told the other post office what happened and they said "They did that bc they were being lazy." I think they do this to so many people and on a regular basis so they don't have to do any work in there and stop people from coming back to do business there. When I left, I heard them laughing and being loud bc they accomplished another customer out the door unsatisfied. I hope they do something about this bc this is so sad to have in the community. I am not writing this review out of pleasure but out of desperation now. I have more problems with this post office than any other customer service place. They constantly lose my packages, my mail and so on. They lost several of my packages, my letter and even my driver's license from the DMV office. What can I do? I get a new driver's license again, and with other packages I had to deal with the senders because the post office is incompetent. I'm not a hater, but how many times can this happen to me? Now on top of this they lose a very important legal document that says it was delivered. But delivered where? It's not in my mailbox! If I do not retrieve this letter I will be screwed big time, it will bring lots of major problems for me. It is not just a random letter, to my bad luck the government doesn't send these type of letters with a required signature as they should but what can I do? I have to visit the post office everyday until someone is willing to help me and if it means speaking to supervisors, calling whomever I need to I will have to. I ask this post office and their employees to please, please pay attention to your job, pay attention to where you're delivering the mail, you have no idea how we depend on you. Maybe if you were nicer and more willing to actually help us then the customers would be more pleasent too, it works both ways. read more

WORST WORST WORSTTTT customer service. Got a pink slip notifying me my package was at the post office because no one was home to sign for it. When I went to the post office and waited 30 minutes in line even though there was only ONE person in front of me- the lady couldn't find my package so she took a picture of my pink slip and said "We'll call you when we know more information" EXCUSE ME, WHAT? I asked her when they would call and why it wasn't in the post office, she mentioned that the address for delivery said "1873" instead of "1673" but that was a lie because my pink slip said "1673"!!! My mistake was not reading these reviews and demanding more information, I figured it was a hiccup and things would be resolved once they called me back. ITS BEEN 3 DAYS AND NO CALL. I have called the post office 32 times just today with NO ANSWER. Does anyone work there? I frankly do not know what else to do. This is far too much a waste of my time but the package is worth well over $100 and I want what is rightfully mine. Why hasn't this establishment been checked?! Or shut down for that matter? If I were to say one thing about the workers at this location, I couldn't choose the one thing to say. Lazy would begin to describe them at one of the nicest levels imaginable. The service here is beyond less than desirable and the workers here have clearly no desire to work for the postal service and I honestly question their desire to be alive at all. The workers here are so rude that I honestly believe that before my next visit to this location I would rather walk down the entire length of Myrtle Avenue on broken beer bottles covered in NYC raccoon feces while chewing on a homeless person's sock that has been sitting in pigeon droppings outside of the Union Square Station since last St. Patrick's day. I have never been so disgusted, horrified, revolted, repulsed, or appalled by customer service in my life. The current state of this post office is so abhorrently abysmal that I believe that it should be a major platform on which the next mayor of this city should stand on. Fuck this whole office, I went there to pick up a package then said it was not able to be dropped off, so I waited till the next day. Goto the post office right after work (3:30ish) there was about 3 people in front of me I wait about 20 mins, fine I get to the window the lady says she needs to use the bathroom and goes, now I wait for about 10 more mins and she's still no where to be found. So goto once of the windows and ask where's the pick up lady they tell me "she's on lunch you should of came earlier," I black out the manager comes he try to look for the package for about another 10 mins. The. Comes to me says "oh the package went out for delivery today" I'm like "how the fuck if they left the notice for me to come here ?" He says he doesn't have a answer so I run home to find another fucking notice to goto the post office. Mind you I bought this item from amazon with 2 day shipping. I have to admit it is getting better. Now they have package pickup separate from the regular services so the lines are a bit more bearable. Customer service is like russian roulette maybe you get lucky then again??..There are a few ladies who will greet you with a smile and say have a good day or God bless.. so...it's getting there..but the office itself is a dump and maybe that is why some of the workers are miserable. Wish I could rate this establishment 0 stars. The staff is extremely rude and dismissive in almost every aspect. Every time I've had the misfortune of taking a personal venture to this place (mostly due to negligence, packages arriving late or not at all etc.), I've been made to feel as though my questions and very presence was an inconvenience to the people sitting behind the glass. They even had the nerve to (almost) turn me away from cashing a bonafide money order because I have an "out of state ID" (which is completely ridiculous). The ONLY saving grace of this establishment is the supervisor, Tracy (whom I've become rather close with due to her staffs incompetence) who has assisted me through all of these endeavors which would otherwise have fallen on deaf ears. Honestly, the entire staff should be fired for poor customer service, and should be replaced with employees who ACTUALLY have experience in such matters. Disgraceful, arrogant, and incompetent are 3 words I would use to describe this place. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!! read more

Well. Even though my expectations of quality service by the usps is extremely low. They still somehow managed to have me think I set the bar too high for them. Who would have thought that a delivery of a small package, could be such a big deal. After tracking the package, it was updated to say it was delivered and left at the mailbox. Only thing was, that it wasn't there. After spending what felt like an eternity to get through to customer service. They, after another eternity passed by, realized that it was sent back to the postal service. It wasn't delivered because the driver felt it unsafe to leave it. Years of getting deliveries., it was now unsafe to leave it? I don't believe it. The driver simply ran out of time to deliver it and took it back for a future delivery. But the fool still put down that it was delivered. The tracking still states it was delivered, and the fools at the local usps, read what he put down, and believe it was delivered. They won't go that further step to see that it was returned to the postal service. So now they have the package, won't set up a new delivery date, because. yep, you guessed it. the computer says it was delivered. Even though it also says it wasn't. read more

Has to be the worse place ever. If I was able to give zero stars I seriously would but can't. I ordered a package Friday gets here Monday says it's out for delivery than at 10:30 am I track it and it states my address doesn't exist return to sender lol. So I go to the office to complain state they can't do nothing about it item still in truck so I contact the company I ordered from and they resend me the product. I get a call three days later about that missing package go pick it up sorry for the inconvenience when I get home and open it the damn thing is empty just and invoice and the melt cosmetics paper with nothing inside put again the invoice and a bunch of tissue paper who steals someone's package one and then have the audacity to give consumer an empty box for that throw it out. read more

I've been experiencing problems with this Post Office for years now. All of the above mentioned complaints are things I have experienced myself. I buy phonograph records and my senders always mark the packages "Fragile", even when they are sent in a light cardboard record mailer designed for that purpose. Just today I received the umpteenth bent package and happened to be home so I went downstairs to meet the carrier who didn't wait for me even though I said I was coming right down. I opened the package in front of him and showed him the bent record and told him that I spent a lot on this item and that now it is damaged. He said if I have a complaint I should call the number on the slip he handed me. He said "If it does not say 'do not bend' then...". I showed him the tape on the package that says "Fragile" all over it. I asked him if he was bending my packages and he wouldn't answer. He said "What can I do?, I'm just a carrier". I said if you see a 12 x 12 package for my address it is a record. Please do not bend it". He's costing me a lot of money. The general apathy and ignorance of the workers at this post office and their carriers is appalling. I have never encountered a workplace with such an overwhelming number of employees who don't take pride in their jobs. Every week I wait on the line and invariably hear all around me the general dissatisfaction of the customers about the service at the 60-60 Myrtle Ave. Post Office. It's not necessary to list any names here of the employees in question, It's all of them. I think it is just more effective to let our congressional representative cope with this. Our neighborhood has hundreds of people who go to this post office and I have heard hundreds of complaints over the years from customers. Does this Post Office realize that they are costing people money when they lose a package or deliver it damaged? Does the message ever hit home even? read more
