Honestly, this is probably the only thing I'll ever use yelp for simply to tell you about the service at this post office. Sometimes you'll be met with a friendly young person who looks like they're in their early 20's, they'll help you and greet you with a smile. Now the older people who work there are an absolute nightmare to deal with. They have snarky looks, will make up new rules just to turn you away, and speak to you in the most disgusting attitude. There is one particular woman that every regular will try their best to avoid, even letting you go in front of them in the line just to avoid confrontation with her. She treats younger customers even worse including myself. I will leave 2 stars because I have hope that when younger people get jobs there and the older people are gone the post office will finally be a place I don't dread going to. read more

I was in the area waiting to get my car fixed and stopped in here for some stamps. Mind you this was a Saturday afternoon and there was NO liness. I was shocked and asked the staff is it always empty in here on the weekends and they laughed and said no that I just missed the rush. I walked in and out of this post office in 5 minutes. Its a small facility and I didnt see any of the machines for quicker service. However, I will travel a little bit to avoid waiting on line for 1 hour which is how it always is at my local postal office. read more

This post office is HORRIBLE. They said they rang my bell two days in a row which did NOT happen, I was home. The official USPS phone service had the wrong delivery times vs. what was on the form left at my apartment, and the two times I went to go get it, they couldn't find my package! The woman at the window looked for a mere 5 minutes at most, said she couldn't find it, and came back with a phone number and took mine, said she'd call if she found it. No call for two days, and I called there for two days. No one picks up any phones there... EVER. Also: Google offers a # that goes to a fax machine, also not helpful. Did I mention that when we were all waiting in line and they didn't open until 9:05AM (meanwhile a woman was knocking on the door letting the workers know it was 9AM) and the two people that finally decided to make it over to the windows by 9:10AM didn't even have their registers setup? They were walking over with tills at 10 mins after 9AM like it was no problem at all. Lastly, since I had off for labor day weekend on Friday, I finally had one last shot at going there to get the package, and there was a man that worked there, he looked like a supervisor, asked if anyone had pickups. Three of us handed him forms/ID and each time he came back, handed us our packages and didn't even say anything. I had told him that wasn't my first time attempting to pick up the package and that I had hoped he'd find it and he just looked at me like I had ten heads. He didn't offer an apology or a thank you, not a goodbye, NOTHING. He was acting like we didn't even existed. In the hallway, there was another man in the same predicament with his package as I was faced with, yelling at and being yelled at by an employee there. She was saying it wasn't her problem that his package was MIA and that she couldn't/wouldn't dispatch to the truck that it was on. AWFUL customer service, totally inefficient staff. They need a lesson in customer service, they should be grateful that they have these jobs. read more

Black lady with braids at pick up counter extremely unhelpful, rude, and impatient at multiple occasions. Had a package went missing and with a pink slip and claimed she couldn't do anything, deferred me to USPS customer service number and had to open a case. A day later the post office themselves called me and said the package was at the post office and I could pick it up. Went following day, and the lady does not take the effort to even find a package that was in this post office's possession. Went to the back for at most 10 seconds and came back with a rude face and told me she didn't know where it was. To repeat, the post office themselves had called earlier and told me it was there. There's really no excuse, especially when she has talked to me about this one exact same package before. Another lady with red hair saw our interaction and decided to jump in. In a matter of two minutes, she was able to find the package and hand it to me, with a smile on her face. Extremely pleasant interaction with the lady with red hair. As for the rest of the post office itself, the people there do their jobs, and I've never had a problem with them. Some interactions there's a lack of hospitality, but then again, they are just there to do their job (unlike some people, aka the lady with braided hair). Dirty, old, run down... as many post offices are. Unfortunately, if I ever receive a package delivered through USPS this is where I have to come to pick it up. For whatever reason, every time I have ever been here, the line is as long as a toy store that is giving stuff away for free on Christmas Eve (Really Long). Please be aware of a mail carrier (Catalpa ave between 60 lane and 60th street)who refuses to accept packages. He is refusing to accept packages by lying "all USPS mail carriers do not accept packages due to coronavirus." This is not true. In fact, I asked this Post office in person. My postwoman has decided that she's not delivering packages during Corona. She would pre-fill the yellow "We rang your bell" piece of paper, put it on my door, and run away without ringing the bell. All of my USPS packages have been either "delivery exceptions" or "failed attempts to deliver." I went to the post office to ask about this and the woman behind the glass told me "Well they're probably not delivering it because they're scared, they don't want to get sick!" whatever that means. Literally the WORST post office I've ever been to. So sad my packages get routed here they seem to never process requests or have your packages ready for pick up. Everybody they have at package pick up has a huge disdain for their job and can't be bothered to help Have had a woman roll her eyes at me and close her magazine as if I was bothering her to do her job at the pickup window. Staff here are the most rude. Every single goddamn time I go to this place people are lined up waiting to be helped and there are like 4 or 5 windows but only 1 or 2 of them are open. Ask me where are the rest of them? Oh I don't know, they're just chit-chatting or walking back and forth behind the counter like they don't even see us in line. Let me also mention that they lose packages/mails ALL THE TIME because more than half the time when I'm there I hear people complain about lost packages and instead of apologizing to the customers they would give them attitude. Customer service here is ridiculous! I called Ridgewood post office to ask a question. No one answered. After calling a few more times someone picked up the phone and hung it up. I immediately called right back only this time the phone did not ring, it was picked up right away. I could here a female talking. It sounded like she was talking on the cell phone to her boyfriend for 10 minutes before she realized I was on the line. She quickly hung up the phone. I tried calling back multiple times afterwards. Either the phone was off the hook or she didn't pick up. Very unprofessional and lazy workers. read more

Even though this is a smaller Post office from what I am used to in Middle Village, It doesn't stop short of service. The two people that are at the window are the nicest postal workers in customer service I've seen in a long time. It was a real treat to be looked at like an individual and not a crazy person. The line was at the front door, (This is a given, it's Monday morning, and everyone is just trying to get everything out. ) I came with quite a few random parcels, about ten of them with postage, and the rest I had to pay for postage. The guy was not intimidated when I brought my Ikea bag full of mail, he said: "okay, give me everything paid first." He carefully made sure with ease that all my items had the correct postage, and good thing because one of my envelopes to go overseas was off by a penny. (man, that would of sucked for me if it got returned.) Then I grouped all the packages on the scale by distance, I have him the packages that were further from New York first. For some reason, I feel that if they are processed first, they might get there faster or something, lol. My time here was about an hour. Mostly sorting through my items, and about fifteen minutes of waiting, which was fine. One hour later, a bill for nearly $200.00, I was a satisfied patron. Th experience was great, at no time did I feel: "Oh my goodness, this package is not getting there in one piece!" It was truly a great experience. read more

Abysmal. The sad thing about this story is that this is not the first time they have done this to me. I was left a notice that i missed my packages (when i actually was home, the mail carrier just never rang the door bell). The mail carrier didn't even care to write the ID number of the packages, therefore i could not reschedule them to be re delivered. I signed all 3 slips and taped them to my mail box. The following day, the slips were taken and my packages were never delivered. I have tried calling the post office and nobody ever answers the phone. I have been on the phone with customer service several times and they ensure that my packages will be delivered the following day. Nothing yet. Like i said, the sad thing is that this same situation has happened to me before. This is the worst USPS i have ever had to deal with. Then called the 1(800) number, received a case # & was told the post office would call me with package details & to set up redelivery... almost a month later & I still have not heard from anyone from this Myrtle office, & don't have my package. I went in today to mail a package or really just drop it off as the postage had already been paid. Well I was informed that they were being kind to accept my package as this office is considered Queens and the post mark was Brooklyn.. I literally live 4 blocks from this post office yet they wanted me in the future to go 5 miles away to another office in Brooklyn.. Granted when you call the home office they tell you that you can drop off your packages anywhere in NY at any post office and that they were really sorry. I emailed the company a good few times before they told me that my package has been at my local post office for 10 days. I did not get a notice that my package was there, that they tried to deliver it and missed me. I always have problems whenever a delivery is scheduled on the weekend. Tracking says it was delivered but never is. I'm home during the time tracking says it was delivered. No ring of the doorbell, no knock on the door, no package. Tracking has also said that delivery was attempted but couldn't reach the door - I'm at a house; there's one door, no fence, no snow or hedges that block the path to the door. Every time I complain, I get a canned response from the manager - tracking is just a tool to help our customers, not as a real indicator of the delivery or something like that. Basically, tracking means diddly squat. It's gotten so bad that I have to plan out when I order something so it arrives during the weekday. The weekday guys are awesome...always a knock, always a doorbell ring, always a package. (Although the last 2 deliveries I got were for a different house...they were off by a digit). This is the worst post office I have ever dealt with. The staff and managers are rude and can never help you. The phone number is not reachable it's like trying to contact the HRA department. They lost 3 of my packages and could not explain for it. I had to call the inspection office to file an claim for an investigation into the missing packages that totaled to 1000$. THE WORST POST OFFICE!!! I went the other day to complain about TWO packages I was missing. The people in front of me had the same issue where online it said delivered but went missing and they never got it. One woman asked and even though it said delivered it was on the back shelf!!! I had to get my bike jacket shipped a second time and the seller told me it was sent back to him. The station manager is horrible. Blaming mailmen for everything when he can't even run the place. After several hellish years of using the Wyckoff Heights station, I will now be dropping all my packages at the Ridgewood station. I print postage from home, but sometimes I need proof of when the package entered the mail system. The last time I went, the clerk was very friendly, knew what a scan form was (a lot of them don't!) and got me in and out in a flash. The line was a few people deep but I didn't wait for more than 5 minutes. The only thing I wish this location had was a drop box big enough for packages, for the days I don't need a receipt, but that's a small quibble. read more
