i lived in Rahway for 20 plus years i never had a problem with mail delivery or customer service until 2 years ago, i never get my mail delivered on time and in some cases i don't get it at all , they have the most rudest clerk i have ever seen in my life . i stared going to the linden post office for all of my needs where the staff is kind and very helpful , unfortunate i cant have my mail sent to linden unless i create a po box . SUPER DISAPPOINTED! So I've since moved since I wrote my last review and I wanted to surprise my mother with a gift package of brand new sneakers since she said she needed new ones. I went to the store- we FaceTimed so she could pick out sneakers she liked - I wanted to mail them so she start using them (she wasn't expecting this). I send the sneakers PRIORITY to the Rahway post office (Milton is closest to her home). I GET NO NOTIFICATION TO SAY IT WAS DELIVERED- NOTHING!! I call my moms because it's getting late in the day to see if she received the package- she didn't! I tracked the package to see where it could be- it says it was dropped off at the front door/porch. THIS IS A 30+ UNIT APARTMENT BUILDING - there is no front porch!!!! On top of that people walk in and out of the apartment building everyday!!!! So now I'm FURIOUS because no one knows where this package was dropped off. To make matters worse !???? They told my 70 year old mother to look for the driver in town to see where it could've been dropped off?????? FURIOUS IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT!!! I will NEVER MAIL ANYTHING TO THIS POST OFFICE AGAIN! I put the apartment number AND this was a PRIORITY SHIPMENT!!!!!! ??? Do yourself a favor - DO NOT MAIL ANYTHING OF SENTIMENTAL VALUE- it will be lost- with NO ACCOUNTABILITY. I NEVER get my packages especially from online orders. They always say it was delivered and I never receive those packages. They are the worst! I hate when I have to receive something via the USPS because more often than not, I do not receive the parcel. This is why nobody wants to use the USPS service. read more

I really hope this post office sees Yelp reviews so they can learn from their mistakes! I had a package sent from this post office and the employee got the zip code wrong by one number. It was suppose to be 29055 which is South Carolina and they put 24055 which is Virginia. They had told us that they didn't need to correct it as long as it is correct on the box.... So to my surprise my package is in Virginia so the zip code they enter does matter!!! I needed this package today as I leave to another state tomorrow. So I just wanted to say thank you so much to this post office for giving people incorrect information and ruining my holidays with this nightmare! The lack of common sense mind boggles me. I came today after 2 pm on Friday afternoon. Only one person was working as the other staff left for lunch as the line grew longer and longer. The post office woman that was left was struggling with the computer and the life in general. when I asked were there any other people working in this office, she gave me a thyrade about how she had to wait for the customers because they didn't know how to fill the forms etc. I told her I didn't keep a custom form at home to come prepared and not bto waste the clerk's time and I don't work in USPS so how would I know what to do like she wouldn't know how to do my job. she started to telling me off that she had 2 college degrees and 2 special needs children.She picked on my spelling and obviously looking to pick the fights with m.e. how can a person like that work in the front desk with a public ???. she was very rude, snotty and aggressive towards me. I feel sorry for her personal life but that doesn't give her the right to take it out on the customer. I am not going to visit this post office. it's by far the worst experience I had in a very long time. the Rahway post office management should screen better their employees. they are keeping very low standards read more

Let me begin by saying I love most of the workers here. They are nice and courteous and professional. However, there is one girl that talks about her coworkers right in front of all of the customers which I feel should be done behind closed doors, because the guy she talked about one day is an older man and he is very nice and thorough. What he does with his coworkers is really none of my business, and I understand she may have been aggravated, but this wasn't the first time I was privy to the complaints while standing in line. BUT LET ME TELL YOU WHY SHE'S ALWAYS AGGRAVATED. THIS PLACE IS COMPLETELY understaffed. When you go in here expect most times, to wait wait wait. I'm sure it is frustrating to the workers that the United States Postal Service can't have one more hand on staff to help out during the busiest times. I don't think they treat their workers right by doing this. They make them feel stressed, and in turn, the customers feel that stress. There's a manager here, who I DREAD talking to. I've encountered him twice. Once, when the mail said it was delivered but wasn't, he suggested I GO FIND THE POSTAL WORKER and told me what street she was on. Do you know what they were delivering? An URN. Yes, this man couldn't call her to notify her that she marked it delivered but didn't deliver it, so I had to! GTFOH I was livid, as we needed the urn for the funeral director, so I had to go find it if I wanted it. The mail delivery in Rahway is ridiculous. They skip a few days and then one day, you have a heaping mailbox with mail. They put the mail in the wrong box. I stopped one of the workers last week and said you guys just put the wrong package in my neighbors mailbox. She said, "The names are not on the box". I said, "They most certainly are." I even went and double checked because I thought perhaps, the sticker fell off. NO- the names were clearly on the box and they are typed, so it's not hard to read. I really just wish they offered better service and efficiency. read more

I have decided to begin using the Woodbridge post office, as I've had continued difficulty with this office. The phone number listed on the website does not always work and will lead to a very shrill loud continuous beep. When I finally did get through to a staff member, he was rude and said that number was wrong (although it's the one I called him on, and the same one that lead to the beep previously) and said he had no clue what's on the website. It's incredibly difficult for customers to get in touch with them. The service has continuously been slow in person and rude over the phone. The 2 times I've spoken with someone on the phone, they are unable to help me in any way. They are unwilling to get other staff to assist or deal with customer dissatisfaction. I've waited in line for over 30 minutes before when there was only 4 people in front of me. The NYC post offices with lines out the door go faster. The parking lot has plenty of space but my car always bottoms out trying to turn in off the main road in front - this needs to be re-plowed as I've had multiple conversations with other customers that it also affects them. I haven't had any issues with the carriers or staff in-person being rude. The interior is fairly clean and while the single door access is annoying the facilities seem equivalent to others in the area. read more

This is by far the worst mail service. Can't get anyone on the 800 number to speak to. I've called 3 different post office locations (nothing but busy signals or "I'm sorry we can't help you." I've been trying to return a package (you know when you flip the little red arm up on your mailbox signifying that you are looking to mail something out) and all they keep doing is shoving new mail in, pushing our package further into the mailbox. Just started selling items on Ebay. Have had terrible experience with Rahway USPS. Have scheduled Priority Mail home pick up. Nobody picks up but they send me an email saying packages were picked up. One priority package went to Portland OR and returned to Rahway 2 times. No explanation why. Now I am out of pocket $21.50 shipping and had to refund buyer. Have been into the post office 3 times to speak with a supervisor. Each time told none is available. Was asked to leave a written message and supervisor would call. Left message with counter staff. 3 days later no phone call. Have another Priority Mail package that was going to Bridgeton MO. Mailed 12 April. Package has gone back and forth between MO and NJ several times and tracking now (April 21) shows it is in Honolulu Hawaii. So much for paying another $21.50 for Priority 2-3 day shipping. I believe somebody at the Rahway Post Office is deliberately sabotaging mail. I am going to try another post office. If that does not work, I will no longer ship by USPS, only FEDEX. read more

This is a terrible post office. The help smoke cigarettes while handling parcels in the back where there's a big sign no smoking. The lady back there curses as well. The manager doesn't call you back when she says she will. My mail lady picked up a package from my home and they lost it. read more

HORRIBLE CARRIER !!! So, I live RIGHT NEXT TO THE POST OFFICE. I FINALLY got my mail past 6pm on a SATURDAY. Obviously it's a new mail carrier because my regular carrier usually delivers around 10 to 11 am. I'm expecting a package and did not receive it yet. I figured she will come back again and deliver the box last, so I waited in my living room. 15 min later I hear her literally throw the box on my porch! What an inconsiderate person ! So I go outside and she's already driving off. To put icing on the cake, she throws the WRONG package on my porch; I have no idea if the wrong package I received had fragile items in it, but I am PISSED OFF with how she handled it and threw it on my porch like it was nothing. I look across the street and she delivers my package to the wrong house. I call the post office demanding to speak to a supervisor, and low and behold the supervisor has no idea who the mail carrier is. I will make it my mission to follow up with whoever is the head office to report this person who loves throwing packages. If you hate your job that much, then leave ! read more

Worst PO in NJ, maybe one of worst in US. Carriers dump mail on front porch or don't come at all. Counter staff very inconsistent...some nice, some horrible. Often long lines and no one working or only one person. Many days do not open on time. Supervisors blow off complaints and are defensive. Postmaster never there. read more

I ordered a package last week and they delivered it to the incorrect post office. When i tracked it, it said it would be delayed and delivered two days later than expected. When i tracked the package, it said it still has not left their post office 3 days later!!!! I called the post office and spoke with Ken to inquire as to where my package was and why it has not left their post office. He told me the tracking information on their website was wrong and he had a "more advanced system". He told me it was in sorting and the package would be delayed even further. He could not tell me where my package was, or when it would be sent out. I told him this was for a Christmas party and there is no reason for me to have to wait almost one whole week for a package to be shipped from your facility when it was delivered, in error, to that facility in the first place. He then said "have a nice day" AND HUNG UP ON ME! The customer service is, clearly, atrocious and the postal workers at this facility are extremely shady. DO NOT USE THIS POST OFFICE AND, CERTAINLY, avoid Ken, as he is not able to help in any way. read more

I wish I could give zero stars. I have never seen such laziness as I do from the Rahway post office. They are too lazy to deliver packages so they fill out the "sorry we missed you" paper before they even get to the mailbox, then you have to go to the post office to pick it up. If you go online to schedule redelivery, they ignore it. I'm constantly wasting my time going to the post office because they can't be bothered to ring my door bell. read more
