It took us over an hour to find this USPS location with ZERO places to park in the rain. I am not going to unload on this post office branch, which is in an indoor mall, downtown with NO signage. But it was like a conspiracy between all the online websites and even Google maps to conceal the place. All that with the insanity that is driving in Pittsburgh, all to find out we were at the wrong branch, my bad. I don't get all of the extremely negative reviews, but I was just in line to buy stamps and make sure Xmas cards had the right postage. There were about 5 people in line ahead of me, and at first, there was just one employee. Soon, a 2nd joined, and the line moved quickly. The employees seemed efficient though not warm and friendly by any stretch. Still, I was in and out with what I needed. There was ample parking. No complaints here! read more

Absolutely, positively one of the worst if not the worst post office you'll ever have the misfortune to need to deal with. I live in a house. Front stoop but have a fully covered back porch. It's raining and I ordered electronics. They left the package on the front stoop in the rain. Never knocked on the door (I was in the house when it was delivered). I also have a mail slot through my front door. On multiple occasions I've asked the delivery person to push the envelopes all the way through so it doesn't leave the slot cover up and the cold/hot air comes in the house while the heater/ac is running. That's a crap shoot most of the time. From here on out if a company can't ship it to me via FedEx or UPS then I simply won't buy from them and tell them it's because I won't use USPS anymore. They simply don't care. None what so ever. This location reviews are mostly negative and it's been that way for many many years. So they are not concerned and not going to change a thing. Post like this are just laughs for them for when they hit the bar after work. read more

This is the worst post office I've ever encountered. They spent three weeks telling us that our parcel was in their hands and would be delivered (with photo proof). We waited at home every single time they have said that and got absolutely nothing. After three weeks of waiting and calling, they admit that they have lost or misplaced the parcel and "too bad". Told us that we will probably never see it again. Please don't send any of your parcels to this post office if you want to see it again. read more

Post office sucks! I've been extremely active in trying to get them to a.) understand I live alone (mail I receive is 90% for others) and b.) please bring me my packages. I've been in there politely begging a handful of times, after leaving multiple notes for the carriers (multiple cover this route). ‍‌They also lost the same package my best friend sent me TWICE, and now it's forever gone. She had to rebuy it :( First time, they returned it with the reason of "[my] flat was vacant" (what?). Second time, after in-person confirming with this branch the precise protocol for her to follow to ensure its guarantee of making it to me, it's straight-up gone. It was really sad, as part of the package/gift is irreplaceable. It's been ~3 months since I've tried to fix the problem, and somehow it has actually gotten worse (lol?). I get mail for over 10 different people, and I have anything of measurable value shipped elsewhere. Also all bills are electronic, since my first electric and gas bills --and who the hell knows what else-- never made it here. 2 stars because a lady was pretty nice to me once.. Whatever, eh?! Multiple delivery issues after only living at this address for three months. Lost letters. When one letter was re-sent Certified Mail in December the East Liberty post office noted online that they had attempted to deliver. I refuted that claim since my front porch has a Nest camera that showed no one came to our front door that entire day! After a three week delay we called the USPS phone number (1-800-ASK-USPS) and filed a Carrier Complaint. The next day the East Liberty post office 'found' the certified letter. Now, only two weeks later, another issue with a first class letter. It has been 18 days and it still has not arrived. Seems numerous/countless others in our area have been dealing with the same issue. The NextDoor app has quite a few documented issues of this going on for the past few years at least. read more

Our mail is never placed in the correct mailboxes, even though the boxes are clearly marked. It's almost like the carrier is lazy and throws everything together without even looking at the addresses/names/apartment numbers. We tenants have to sort each others' mail. It would be less of a problem if it was just a mixup within our building, but we receive mail from addresses all over the entire street. I'm pretty sure the landlord has complained to the post office about it more than once. read more

When our regular carrier does not deliver our mail to the Point Breeze area, I have to call the post office and ask where my mail is. If he is on vacation, it is a nightmare. I have the USPS informed deliver account, and can see what should be delivered every day. When you call the post office @ 412-661-5780 they are rude (especially the managers) . They really don't care if you receive your mail or not. They are always bothered, and act as if you have no right to call. I had to file a complait over the summer with the US Postmaster General because I hadn't received our mail for 5 consecutive days. I have also filed a police report because we thought for sure that we were victims of mail fraud! I dread the day when my regular carrier retires. Today is Feb 6, and I was supposed to receive 7 pieces of mail yesterday, and I didn't receive any. So frustrating! read more

I have been receiving mail flawlessly for 32 years of my life. Until I moved to this offices delivery route. Carrier lost your package? (which has happened to me 7x in the last 2 years) Good luck getting ahold of anyone by phone, you'll have to take a day off work to go visit. Gary is worthless, Renee takes attitude. Do yourself a favor and just immediately call the postal inspector, save the aggrevation and leave a trail to get this place closed down. My favorite part? They've both told me if I was unhappy with my delivery maybe I should rent a post office box. I'm not sure they could even figure out how to put my mail in that one either, even if I did. This whole office needs fired and start over from the ground up. I wish we had the option of taking the 1 star they have away. read more

An update on my last post. It's good news, bad news. The good news first. The tracked package that started it all was a package sent from Ohio. This was in september of last year (2015). The tracking data showed it had arrived at the East Liberty station, but was never delivered. It was bought through eBay and I ended up getting a refund. About a month ago, that is NINE MONTHS after it was received at the post office, it showed up in my box!! At first I didn't know what it was, until I realized it was the missing item. I contacted the seller and with tracking, returned it to the seller. So for that they get a star. Might have been two stars, but I really wanted to give them a zero in the first review. Part 2, the bad news. While all this was going I got a parking ticket for street cleaning days. I mixed up the the side of the street I was supposed to park on. What did I do? The next morning I MAILED the check and ticket to the parking authority. It showed up 10 days later, the day they were adding late fees. Oh well, I guess that's another review. read more

Incompetent. I was supposed to receive a package that I would have to sign for, so I took the afternoon off from work so I could be home to sign for it. The carrier showed up (with the package) on my doorstep and informed me that at some point between the sender paying for postage and me receiving it, they had added an ADDITIONAL $81 charge that I had to pay to get the package (sender paid over $180 originally to ship it). No one told the sender about this, and this was the first time I was hearing about it. However, the carrier couldn't take card and couldn't tell me who to make a check out to. He genuinely did want to help, and spent 20 minutes on my front steps trying to call the office and figure out how I could pay the fee so I could get the package that I had been sitting at home waiting for. NO ONE in the office could tell him who I could make a check out to, despite him sending them pictures of the package and all the labels on it. The people in the office told him that he had to bring it back to the office and that I would have to come pick it up, but that I couldn't get it until the next day. When I called the office to ask why they couldn't figure it out, they told me it "could be a customs issue/fee." It was coming from New Mexico. I picked up the package the next day and had to pay the $80+ fee, but never got an answer of where that fee what coming from, why it was allowed on the truck for delivery in the first place if the carrier wasn't going to be able to deliver it, or why the sender didn't know about the fee (the sender ships these kinds of packages dozens of times per year through USPS and had never heard of this issue). I have never had a harder time getting a package. After 3 days of attempting to get a package, I still have not gotten it. I have never met a less helpful group of employees. There was no notice informing what to do since my package could not be delivered, every employee I have talked to (7 so far) could not tell me where my package was, the letter carrier could not be contacted to ask what the problem was, and I have been told to ask the same incompetent people for help. DO NOT USE USPS. It is worth the money to use UPS or Fedex. read more

This post office is awful. If you really need your package, I suggest having it routed through another post office or using ups or FedEx. I filled out the form for a mail hold and they never held our mail. They have stated stuff was delivered when it wasn't and it miraculously shows up the next day or a day later with the mail. We are constantly receiving the wrong mail. They flat out lie. I have cameras on my property and I have evidence that the mail man came and did not deliver a package and they still lie to me about it. Do yourself a favor and don't even bother stepping foot in this office. Everyone who works there is miserable. read more

I honestly can't say enough bad things about this place. I want to claw my eyes out when I know I'm getting a package that requires a signature, because I know for whatever reason that I'll be here three different times to try to pick it up once the postman fails to leave it at my doorstop (and never leaves me a notice- WHY DON'T YOU DO THAT?!). The people here must hate their jobs, because they are never helpful or pleasant about anything you come for. This morning alone I was there twice to try to recover an incredibly time-sensitive package for work, and they said both times that the postman has it. I PAID FOR TRACKING AND IT LITERALLY SAYS THAT YOU HAVE IT!! So now I have to take a day off of work to wait for the postman (who never rings my doorbell or leaves a notice that he was even here), and I know that he'll probably end up saying that he doesn't have the package- and I'll have to go back again. Sorry, no stars. The East Liberty Broad Street USPS AND its parcel delivery carriers add no honor to the USPS system. First, there is no successful way to contact the office by phone. The USPS online site is also full of bugs, even if you are using the most updated version of your browser, as the site cautions you to do. When you use the 800 number and state, "Speak to an agent," the electronic operator simply takes you back to the main menu, AFTER confirming that you want to speak to an agent. There is, thus, no way to get through to a human being by phone. Second, I have discovered that there is no permanent carrier for my section of Pittsburgh. Consequently, and this has happened twice in the space of 5 weeks, a parcel delivery carrier decides he/she does not want to drive to my neighborhood to deliver a registered parcel, he/she takes it to a home closer to where the carrier lives, and if there is no answer, electronically identifies the parcel as undeliverable because no one was home to sign for it. And no one is taken to task for this. This is systemic incompetence and laziness. For shame! read more

I have the same problems everyone else has had: I don't receive all of my mail; I receive random strangers' mail; they lie about whether or not they even tried to deliver my packages. The doorbells are clearly marked and they're right next to the mailboxes. It's not brain surgery. I get an email every day with a scan of what will be in my mail that day, and I see things on there that I never receive. And packages? Forget it. I had to quit ordering from Amazon completely because they so often hand the package off to the USPS and then I never see it. Eventually, I have to report the package as lost and try to get the USPS to look for it, and report it to Amazon so I can get a refund. I have no idea what the USPS does with my search requests, since I have never received a response. The tracking info is never accurate, and redelivery requests are simply ignored. I live in Squirrel Hill, so I have no idea why this office even handles my stuff, but I really wish I could keep them away from it. read more
